I was surprised how much younger Cassandra looked in the trailer actually. In DA2 she had quite sharp harsher looking features, but in the trailer he features were softer and she looked super young like she was in her late teens. Come to think of it, even Varric and Morrigan looked younger than their previous counterparts, makes me wonder if Cullen will drop a few years physically too (again).

I thought they really sexed her up, too, with her plump lips and more feminine hair. I fear it's the Ashley syndrome all over again :? Art department always seems to be on a different wavelength than writing, although fortunately with Cullen, that's worked out for the best. It's too bad he doesn't have a face model though.

I thought that Cassandra was the only one who looked younger in the trailer. No dark, heavy makeup always makes a person look younger, though.
Both Varric and Morrigan looked older to me.

I'm hoping he'll have a couple of scars, not just on his face but on his body/arms too. I wonder what those dark purple circles around his eyes will look like in this new engine? Probably less purplish/red and more like the dark circles we get in real life through lack of sleep.

I imagine he'll be quite striking looking, and hopefully equally as handsome but with more of a manly ruggish lol.

What I did like about the facial textures was that the characters did have scars, freckles and moles/beauty spots. That bodes well for the CC.

Mmmmmmm, manly ruggish .  He did look quite manly in both games so far, but that older, hardened look? Yummy. I like battle scars.

I hope for some defining features in cc, I so hope for scars.

For me Cassandra wasn't overly sexed up, her face gained a lot more character with the revamp but possibly it is due to the textures again. Her features were quite realistically mixed with considerably small eyes, prominent jaw and full lips. I think nothing will beat weird lips Morrigan had in dao. I came to accept them but at the start I was O.o.

This is pretty much all I'm hoping for

I think this new engine will make all the men look more ruggish than they usually would, purely based on the textures that allow you to create more skin flaws and details than the previous engine could.

This sounds ideal to me. I always liked the fact that he looked somewhat tired and worn. With the new textures they can add some subtle hints of aging too. I wonder if they'll give companions/ LI's individual textures for the body though. I remember playing as male Hawke back when DA2 came out and noticed Anders and Hawke had the same exact moles in their hands :P

I can only begin to imagine the custom faces we'll be able to create in the CC, from the way the devs have been going on about customisation it sounds like we'll be able to create protagonists that look equally as unique as the companions.

JediBeagle: Yeah, they all had the same default bodies. Same with the women, I hope the companions do have unique bodies too, not that we'd see all of them naked but it would be cool to see different scars/markings on their arms/hands etc.

With this in mind I have started to imagine my roguish character looking all warn and torn :] It's really funny to look at the baby face of the warden I'm playing now after what she's been through. That's what I like about Skyrim, that you can put dirt on the pc's face and you can change the intensity. Pity you cannot adjust it mid game... no, not being overly demanding, not at all... :innocent:

I hope so! It was always horrifyingly weird to come across some random NPC with my character's hair, clothes and even a close likeness in face.

LOL, All NPC should have the ugly hairstyles from the first two games!

I hope we'll be able to make characters as detailed as our companions. It always bothered me a little in Mass Effect that my female Shepard always looked a bit clumsy next to her crew members. The first thing I thought after watcher the DA:I trailer and seeing Morrigan's face up close was "my female Inquisitor is going to be amazing!"

Even if I can just get Morrigan's hairstyle from the trailer then I'd be good, I wear my hair like that frequently anyway so that'll get me part way into trying to recreate myself as the Inquisitor.

Same! My instant thought was "she has two beauty spots!"

Morrigan's hair looked lovely, including textures, but it's difficult to judge overall since dark hair always looked the most reasonable in Bio games. Lighter colours are the real test and I can barely see Varric's...
I forgot it was also movng in the wind. Would be great to get rid of the plastic hair at last.

Ideally we would get to customize our characters body too like in Dragon's Dogma but apparently that would be murder for the cutscenes. A shame though :/

Even if we could just customise what's on the body in terms of scars, skin texture to match the face, freckles, moles and beauty spots then that would be better than nothing.

Lemme know if he gives any possible hints to how the sex/relationships will be in DAI. I can't watch the video because I'm currently surfing the net on my phone.

I wonder how difficult it would be to add body textures into the CC. Just create a slider for them? It could include the scars, freckles, moles etc as well as nail polish or tattoos or even jewelry like earrings.

I know it's sad, but for that reason alone (the amazing CC) I'm enjoying DD so much, I mean I am really having a ball with it. I finally got to create EXACTLY the kind of character I want, without being restricted in any way, shape, or form. Add to that the fact that I got to create a SECOND character, and this game is just blowing me away. A lot of people said it was similar to Skyrim, in that the characters are pretty much lifeless, but I find that's not true. I have turned the Japanese voice acting on, and they're wonderful, and give real life to the characters. No, these NPCs don't have half the life of even someone as simple as Athenril or Sister Petrice, but it's not Skyrim. And it's pretty, and the fighting is fun.

I just know DA3 is going to give me this stock CC, and I'm going to be pigeon-holed into creating a stock character PC. It's enlightening to learn how much CC matters to me in a game. Although again I will say that characters and writing can go a long way to making me love a game, even if the CC sucks; look at how much I love DA2 :) So I have not lost hope... when it comes to writing, no one and nothing can compare to BW.
