Lemme know if he gives any possible hints to how the sex/relationships will be in DAI. I can't watch the video because I'm currently surfing the net on my phone.

I believe it's a more academic approach to the topic in that he is talking about gender and sexism and homophobia in video games.

I wonder how difficult it would be to add body textures into the CC. Just create a slider for them? It could include the scars, freckles, moles etc as well as nail polish or tattoos or even jewelry like earrings.

Ooooo, I would love to be able to give them piercings, tattoos and jewellery, I've always wanted to gypsy up one of my protagonists kinda like how Isabela had her lip piercing and massive necklace etc.

In regards to Dragon's Dogma the CC blew me away! I never was able to make an attractive looking female but I loved that you could make literally anything, even in regards to height, weight, body proportions etc, which would effect you differently in-game.

I also really liked the combat mechanics. I couldn't get on with the game itself though, but it kept erasing my saved game so I never got beyond that first city, eventually I sold the thing in a fit of rage after the 5th time of having to restart, so I never did find out if I'd get on with the storyline.

OMG LOL

Dragon's Dogma had the best CC I have ever seen and I sometimes play the game simply to create characters for fun. Too bad it has only one save slot on xbox. If it was possible to combine that CC into a Dragon Age game I would never stop playing! And Dragon's Dogma had cutscenes too though not to the extent of the Dragon Age games. Although when playing with an extremely tall character some of the cutscenes became a little silly :P

Btw that Gaider video is great I watched it earlier today before the original thread was closed and I recommed it.

DG is very softly spoken, it's strange because I tend to forget and expect him to sound kinda stern with a hint of annoyance lol.

EXACTLY! :o And about the very tall and very short characters; I think BW could knock those out to suit their own purposes; we could still have height range between say 5'5 and 6'0, also very slight weight and muscle sliders, just to give your character a unique look, but not something that would be so drastic it would create problems in a cut scene. Aslo, THE HAIR. SO MUCH HAIR. And no restrictions based on gender. Same with make-up. My current character has black eyeliner; he's so mod  His pawn has a wicked neon blue face tattoo; she also has blue hair and red eyes. I named her Arya because she's like medieval Aria T'Lok LOL

Yes having a certain range might solve the height problem. And weight etc. wouldn't be as crucial. As long as a character in the short range won't end up talking to/ snogging other characters chins I'm happy:lol:

Having all hairstyles available for both genders should be very easy to do so I hope that will be featured in DA:I. I don't see a reason as to why not do it. No one has to use a "male" hairstyle for their female if they don't want to or vice versa. Having the option would be nice. Same goes for make up.

David Gaider surprised me too in the video. I haven't really seen many videos featuring him but I have read many of his comments here in the forums and he has seemed rather severe in some ways. Yet in the video he was very likeable and obviously very passionate and professional when it came to his work. Made me feel extra exited and hopeful for the upcoming game.

Oh Gaider...lol "equally creepy for everyone...cause that's the way we roll."

I'm proud of him. I really am. For standing in front of all these developers and writers and so on, and speaking what he's found to work and not work. To share what he thinks is wrong in the industry and what needs to change. I hope he's just as proud of himself for this.

My work computer doesn't have sound, so I'll have to watch this when I get home. However, any interview I've seen featuring him has always been interesting. I imagine he is very much in love with what he does, and I like that he takes no bull****.

I sometimes spend HOURS creating my character with that CC - I love it to bits. The very first time I played the game, I was so overwhelmed with all the choices and I just sat there...staring...

Then I saw the hair selections and I joygasmed. :o

I was just looking at the DAI trailer again and I'm wondering if maybe Cassandra will be a two-hander? In the trailer you see her lifting her sword and she doesn't have a shield with her, nor does she have a second sword.

... That being said, it could have just been for dramatic effect.

It would be interesting to see her as a two-hander. We don't see many female warriors who are - except for the thug sent after Isabela and the crazy elf in DA2.

It didn't occur to me until I saw a thread in the DA3 forums saying how the tank is always recruited first in case your protagonist isn't a warrior class, he/she thought it would be Cassandra and not Cullen because Cullen is "anti-mage blah blah".

I thought tanks were usually S&S?  *still kinda new to RPGs*

So did I, but basically the OP's theory is that Cassandra will be the first tank companion and Varric will be the first rogue companion we pick up.

Oh okay, cause yeah, I know Fenris is a lousy tank lol (Fenris: *takes down ten guys... and also himself*)

I think people are speculating too much about Varric; I don't see him being a companion. Or if he is, that's some extreme pandering to fan approval on BW's part, considering how he was the one character whom everyone liked in DA2.

I feel Cass is also unlikely to be a companion, since she seems to be a commander of some sort....

If we see both Cullen and Cass in the game, I'd like to see Cullen as the S&S and Cass as the two handed because I have this fangirlish notion of white knights with shields a la Cullen, and badass, 'I mean business' ladies wielding the big sh** weapons!

I'm in two minds about Cassandra, but I definitely feel like at least 2 of those characters (excluding the Qunari/Kossith) were put in that trailer for two reasons only:

1) To show us how different the game makes the characters look, they showed us three people we already knew for reference so that we could compare between their previous counterparts

2) To show us some familiarity since the game looks so different compared to what we're used to, they wanted to show us that it's still the Dragon Age we know and love, just improved.

Agreed; I think the whole point of the trailer was just to say "HEY GUYS LOOK WHAT WE'RE WORKING ON!" and not to give us any hints regarding story or character.

Exactly, I think people are looking too much into things. Especially now we know that some of the scenes in the trailer aren't actually in game. For all we know all but one of those scenes could be fake.
