You're telling me! Although I should point out that after we went into that thread to state our case he changed his tune and said that if they were to cater to the fans then we'd be more than worthy of it.

Yeah he really wasn't very nice to us back then. Almost tear worthy. That's part of why his change of heart about us was so awesome, I think.

This part of his post confused me:

I couldn't tell if he meant that this is what he thought we'd be thinking if Cullen was included and they done something to him that we didn't like. Or if he was saying that he would be included so that they could do something rotten to him/upset us.

I still don't think they'd do anything with Cullen's character because of the fans. For all DG's talk of tears, story clearly seems paramount to him. I think he's yanking our chain and that the only real reason would be their nefarious purposes.

by reading those posts u would think that he (or bioware) wont include him because uf his fans and actually i would be kinda mad if they didnt inclide him cuz some of us waited since orgins to have him including me

If it wasn't for Greg Ellis letting slip over Twitter that he'd been in the studio recording Cullen's dialogue, and that survey leak showing his concept art then I would've presumed that Cullen wouldn't have been in DAI at all after first reading DG's post.

Nah, he went on to clarify later that he would neither pander nor not-pander to fans. He was just pushing our buttons that day.

Maybe he has just a cameo. Maybe when they did the survey, more people like Cassandra over Cullen, so they decided to go with her instead.

Huh. Weird. I get being leery about fan groups, I do, but honestly, this is the most civilized fan base out of any that I've popped into and that spans movies, cartoons, music and video games. It is a bit hurtful that there are all these false assumptions made about you just because you happen to be a 'fan girl' of a character. I'm glad DG realizes that just because we all like Cullen here we do not follow the hive mentality and are able to think as individuals.

Yes, I haven't any doubt some hardcore fan somewhere is going to be pissed about what happens to Cullen. I have seen the more rabid Cullen fans on Tumblr, and frankly, they scare me! And yes, I can see those types being VERY upset and pitchforky, but from what I've seen on this thread, we like to debate, dissect and dream. I know if Cullen takes a turn we here aren't expecting, we'll find new things to continue discussing about him. Heck, who knows, maybe he'll beat out Meredith and become my new favourite villain!

To be honest, I don't think Gaider has much of a choice when it comes to the inclusion of certain things, such a romances and certain characters etc. In the past he's mentioned that all his and the other writers work has to be reviewed and get a seal of approval before its put into the game, he's mentioned that things get added in and taken out because the people in charge (possibly Mark Darrah and whoever else) want certain things changed and added in etc.

So I guess, if the big guys decide they want Cullen in the game (in whatever capacity) then he's in no matter what.

Yeah, and then he teased that it might be on a headstone over his grave. 

I wonder if they have actually given him a Surname, or if it was just a Writers Pit in-joke that he decided to tweet about to troll everyone.

i have him up there with Sandal and Flemmeth. I just sort of expect those three to be in there somewhere.

yea but they said that the survey  is not set in stone it can change at any time  lol and this might sound childish  but what if after Greg posted on twitter  that he was recording Cullens voice BW said "oh u leaked "secret" info to the public  and now we gotta change it" idk this prob doesnt make sense at all im terrible at explainig things...lol

ag99: Naw, I don't think they'd do that. I mean it was an innocent mistake and it's not like he leaked any of the plot. Plus, Greg Ellis is a very well known actor and charming as hell so I'm sure he apologised and they let him off with just a slap on the wrist.

As for the survey leak, I'd say if anything changed it'll be the characters/companions shown, but either way we know he's in the game 100% even if we don't know in what capacity yet.

I don't quite get the fan trolling. It doesn't really make sense to me why you'd want to do stuff to rile the fans up, then turn around and complain how pitchforky people get. To me, that sort of behaviour breeds the negative, unwanted fan reactions the devs seem to complain about. There is fine line between trolling and teasing, and it's a very hard line to read over the Internet.
