LOL, probably another hint to read Asunder. It's interesting, Jessica Merizan keeps going on about how we should definitely read it *wink wink nudge nudge*, but that book only seems to cover the whole mage/templar rebellion and briefly mentions the civil war in Orlais, perhaps it'll be worth reading through again to see if there are any hints beyond the obvious.

On another note I wonder what she means when she says "you'll have to rewatch the trailer and see if you can find any hidden secrets" when talking about the new protagonist?
after i saw the interview i went back to watch the trailer for like 5 times and all i saw was Cassandra attacking the GW Morigan dress with an Orlisian dress the sky ripping apart deamons coming in a Qunari who looks lonely in the rain but u know what i havent seen any templars hmmmmmmmmmmmm
Qunari for love interest?
True no templars and not that many mages either!
I am just replaying DAO and got to thinking about Eleni Zinovia (the statue in the mage origin) On her page in the Dragon Age wiki it says that Mike Laidlaw confirmed her prophecy will come true and there's a quote of the character saing:
"The prison is breached. I see the encroaching darkness. The...The shadow will consume all..."
Not sure to what that is in referance to or if it has already come through in some way but it got me thinking about DA2 Legacy. The magister/darkspawn Corypheus seems to escape in the end in a body of a Warden. Perhaps he got to the warden keep and took over. Maybe that's why the seekers are attacking the wardens? He could also have something to do with the sky opening up and spewing demons everywhere as he has been to the black city once before.

However, I'm still not convinced that Cassandra is actually attacking the Warden's, I reckon that it's just a cleverly edited scene to make it seem like she is.

Ugh! Can I just say that it really bothers me that I'm being encouraged to read a book spinoff of the game for the purpose of the actual game? Not that I have a problem with the DA books or comics or table tops, but I thought that if we were interested in just the game in this franchise that everything we need to know would be explained in just the games. To me, it's a marketing ploy to tell us 'read this book, wink wink nudge nudge' like those who don't, or choose not to are going to missing out on something crucial. <_<LolaLei wrote...

The lack of templars and mages in the trailer also gives Bioware the possibility to keep some returning characters as surprises for later. If Cullen is in the game and associated strongly with the templars then he might be used in another trailer in a similar way as Cassandra was used for the seekers in this one.

They did say that anything brought into the game from the books would be explained in-game, but it does seem weird that she's so instant that we read it. Maybe there are some hints in there that we could find out if we wanted to or something.

It could be that the demons are attacking the wardens and the seekers are simply there to join in on the fight? Maybe to get to the wardens for whatever reason. Also I wonder what Varric is up to. He seems to be on his own surrounded by a load of undead warriors or darkspawn and dead wrapped up bodies. Do you think he is on his own or with Cassandra?

To be honest, I don't know what to believe in the trailer since the devs said that some scenes were purposely set up for the trailer for drama and don't actually happen in game. For example, that Qunari/Kossith we see in the trailer was specificially added into that environment just for the trailer, that scene doesn't happen in-game.

i like to think that they are going to release information just like that. There is a lot going on in this game and I'd seriously LOVE a different trailer focusing on each 'problem' the Protag will be coming into. Like one trailer dedicated to the Templars, another to the Mages, the civil wars, the Wardens, the Seekers, the veil tear, etc. I think this would work out great to get little teaser of organized information as the wait continues.
...and I'm certainly not biased to Cullen-centric trailer!

That scene with Cassandra stabbing the table with those six Seekers (or whatever they were) standing around makes me wonder if maybe it was just a character swap for the trailer and that in-game it's actually our protagonist behind the table having a discussion with our companions.
Huh. I never thought of that....mmmmmmm, I'm liking that idea.

A trailer for every ring/ two rings in the website picture would be great. Would it go Seekers + Wardens, Templars+ Mages (circle), Tevinter mages (the red ring)+ Maybe the qunari? And then the civil war. Four trailers in all from which we have already gotten the first. And a companion (old or new) reveal for all!

It just seems a little odd that Cassandra would be bossing people around like that if she is indeed supposed to be a companion, because that's our job. So either she's not a companion at all and is just an important npc, or that was a character swap for the benefit of the trailer.

I feel you, and agree 100%. Hey I've read 1309528508 high fantasy novels before this one; I have no desire to pick up yet another generic high fantasy novel. I know DG writes great characters, and I know it ties into the game, but I am just DONE with this genre for the most part; I can't even make myself pick up Game of Thrones (I do watch the series though of course.) It's just I read this stuff over and over again as a kid; it doesn't interest me anymore. So don't punish me for not reading the dang novel! urgh.

When it comes to stories/books/comics coming from games, I'd prefer to experience it in-game rather than read about it. As you said, we've all read hundreds of fantasy novels but it's not often you get to actually play them out.

Whoa... this is good speculation for where Hawke and the Warden are! And possibly what Mr. Moustache Warden guy was warning about in Act 2.
I still laugh at the thought of my little greenhorn city elf being "Warden Commander" LOL Awakening was such a silly DLC.

I was initially taken aback by her constant mentioning of Asunder but then I thought that she actually can't say much about the game itself and was probably directing it to more persistent fans, those that didn't move on after the trailer but are desperately trying to get some more info. Or that's how I try to interpret itmotomotogirl wrote...

Seems to be only for the mage origin both male and female.
