What sort of battle cries do you think Cullen would have if he was a companion in DA3? Also, what would you like his cry for our fallen protagonist (in battle) be?

Sorry to jump in uninvited and out of nowhere but I just came here to have a look and thought this ^^ was a great pic because it looks both like DAO and DA2 Cullen. So, I guess this is how he should look like in DA3
Anyway
Yes, come disscuss with us . . . forever and ever and ever . . .
I think Cullen may say something like; "Stay away from the light! We'll get you out of here as soon as we can!" if you're not romancing him. If you are, then, "NO! By the Maker, no! Not again!"
I dunno, I just came up with these in the space of a few minutes.

I reckon there will be a lot of Andraste/Maker based battle cries... not as preachy as Seb's were but stuff like "Maker guide you" after he's killed a bad guy or something.
As for the cry for our fallen protagonist, I have no idea... probably something similars to Anders I would imagine.

LOVE The Shining....
And "Stay away from the light" just makes me think of that creepy little lady in Poltergeist - which is not a bad thing.

Sweet Andraste, two horror movie references and I didn't even realise it! (Smacks head) Blonde!
Heh heh, "stay away from the light" also made me snicker. Good one! I also like the "not again" notion... sort of like, "No! Not when I've finally found her," hinting at what a long, dry romance life he's had.
Like Lola, I also see lots o' Andraste/Maker refs or quotes from the Chant. Stuff like, "Blessed are the peacekeepers, champions of the just," "Though all before me is shadow, Yet shall the Maker be my guide," and "My faith sustains me." Or when he kills someone, "Rest at the Maker's right hand, and be Forgiven."

What sort of pet names do you think he'd give his lover? Do you think it would be the standard "love" like Anders says or do you think he'd give her a nickname based on religious or ancient heroes/gods like Thane from Mass Effect calls Shepard? Alternatively would he come up with a nickname for him/her off the cuff like James Vega calls female Shepard Lola and male Shepard Loco.
If you could choose what cute nickname he'd call your next protagonist what would it be?

Hmm, good question. Off the top of my head, I don't think Cullen would be sort to give you a cheeky nickname like that last example. I keep imagining what I would want him to say when I clicked on him, ala Fenris's "I am yours," and I keep hearing something simple, like Alistair's "yes, my love?". A cute twist could be him calling her "my light," sort of a play on "light of my life" and the Maker's Light.

I'm hoping it would be something that would makes us squee. I used to love Alistair's cheeky little "Yeeees?" that you'd get half way through the "wooing" process when you'd click on him to talk.

LOL, you know it's funny.... I HATED when Alistair said that. It didn't sound so much flirty as... dorky. LOL. Although, I guess that's also Alistair in a nutshell! But, indeed, it would be fun to have something squee-worthy. I wonder if something really good would have to inevitably evolve from the plot, though.LolaLei wrote...

Possibly, I'm hoping DA3 will have some really epic moments.
I'm actually really glad Cullen wasn't a companion/LI in DA2, I think all his possible "angst" and backstory would have gone to waste since the game was rushed out the door so quickly. I hate to see Cullen's personality and romance portrayed as a flirt/flirt/kiss/shag/move in event.

I would imagine that it'd be something basic like "my flower" or something. However, it'd be fun to have some kind of inside joke / pet name. Like maybe the PC makes some kind of noises while intimate and he starts calling her Mona or better yet... Spanky. lol

On a more serious note, I was just imagining would it would have been like if Cullen "moved in with you" after a DA2 romance. How would that work logistically? I am reminded of a story I read (and can't recall now which) where Cullen and Hawke were shagging in secret, and he'd have to sneak in to the mansion to see her. I don't think he'd really be able to "move in," so instead you'd have to go see him in the Gallows Courtyard each time you wanted to flirt/chat, I guess...? That would be kind of interesting having a clandestine romance and the dialogue that would ensue.LolaLei wrote...

When we flirt with Cullen there HAS to be more stuttering. HAS to.
I kind of gather that any Templar we romance will either be a virgin or have had a break from sex for awhile. I got the impression that Keran and Wilmod were new to the order and weren't really taking it very seriously yet. Keran at least didn't seem like he'd finally started taking his job seriously until he'd been a Templar for awhile (Act 3?).
So maybe Cullen had a few wild years when he was a new recruit? Maybe it took him a few years of service to actually be fully committed to Andraste and the Maker? Also he's kind of married to his job and the only people he interacts with now on a regular basis are mages and other Templars, so we could all probably agree he's definitely at least had a dry spell, whether it was completely intentional or not.
Of course if he was raised by the Chantry like Alistair was he probably is/was a virgin later into his life than the average person. But even though I loved Alistair's situation, I kind of like the idea that Cullen had a few wild years and has just been abstaining for awhile now. Awhile before the events of DA:O probably, given all the stuttering.
Though there's nothing wrong with virgins. We were all one once.

This is my preferred headcanon, as well. That he's done it, but not recently and probably not well. I like your description of Keran and Wilmod as experiencing their "wild days" in Act 1, and that many templars, including Cullen, would have had at least a few.brushyourteeth wrote...

So, I imagine, at a minimum, the obligatory awkward fumble at some point in his youth. Perhaps even something that was so distasteful (drunk or at the brothel) or forbidden (blocking out thoughts of Amell/Surana with another mage or, hee hee, a sister), that he doesn't want to think or talk about it. It also could be something that gave him the, "That was it?!?" kind of reaction about sex. Then he could be set up nicely for our PC to rock his world and show him how it should be done.

Yeah the stuttering definitely suggests that he's not had a lot of experience... just how much remains to be seen I guess lol.

So, if the templars of Kinloch Hold are going to gain sexual experience, how would they do it? Consenting mages? Some are bound to be okay with it. A chantry sister? Mages might be more likely. An excursion to Denerim? I think the latter most likely for Cullen. He takes his job too seriously to fool around with a mage. I don't think he understands human nature well enough to believe that chantry sisters (or brothers) might not be on board with his definition of celibacy. I could see Cullen getting a two-week furlough, going off to Denerim, and resolving to make a man of himself. He may have been embarrassed that he had to resort to that. The prostitute may have made teased him because of his inexperience. Nerves may have inhibited his performance. He may have felt guilty about it afterwards.
Or, he could be a virgin. I don't know which I favor for my headcanon.
