That happens with most of my bad dreams. Not the realizing I'm dreaming, but usually getting away, waking up in time, fixing what went wrong, etc.. I always figured it was a defense mechanism kicking in, especially if I dreamt of a certain phobia I have.Twice a Lady wrote...

I once read a story about a guy who people paid to literally dream. Like some people pay to have their tarot read, etc. etc., he'd have a dream related to what they wanted to know.. Not too sure about the validity of his claims, but point being, is the way he said he induced the dreams. He said he'd find out what the clients wanted to know, then as he was falling asleep he'd repeat their question constantly, and then he'd usually dream about what they wanted to know. I've tried it myself. Didn't work worth a damn. Seems to work better for others, though.
When I was in my early teens I was prone to nightmares so my sister bought me a dream book to help analyze and whatnot. It also had a section on how to lucid dream. Anyway, to make a long story short, I taught myself how to lucid dream and it's very rare that I find myself in a nightmare I can't alter these days. Even last night, I got away from Mads before I woke up. Anyway, the point of this is that if I could teach myself to essentially realize I was dreaming and change things, I guess some dude could obtain answers to people's questions, but wouldn't it just be his subconscious coming up with the answers?
Exactly! And that's when it comes down to whether or not he was actually psychic, like he said. Because that's why the people paid him.

Hahah, yeah, but at least you'd get to have another Cullen dream, and perhaps a saucier one, at that.LolaLei wrote...
I suspect if I did dream of the question then he'd be a companion/LI. Chances are it would just be my subconscious telling me what I wanted to hear, rather than a prediction though, lol.

Indeed, that's what I believe, as well. It's like how people I've known who wanted their fortunes told only go in to find out if any good things happen to them. Usually money related. Rarely know people who want to know the bad. And I've heard of some people getting angry at the fortune teller if anything bad shows up in the cards, etc.. Like they were ready to believe it if it was good, but in denial, if it's bad.LolaLei wrote...
Yeah, they paid him to essentially tell then what they wanted to hear. It's a form of wish fufillment.
Eitherway, 'bout the dreaming, I suppose it's a neat little technique, and since it seems to work for some people, I guess it's a nice and easy way to have some nice dreams.

On rare occasions I can lucid dream. My most recent experience, I looked down at myself and noticed I was chubbier than my normal chubbiness, and I thought: "Nope, not even in my dreams." I blinked and there I was my normal size...then I explored Rapture.

Well, how cool is that! Wonder if they'd do a Templar or Circle of Magi heraldy at some point. Working with chainmail is hard - I attempted to make a bracelet at one point and it fell apart an hour later.

Part of the reason for officially renaming the game to Dragon Age Inquisition is because "3"
makes people think that HAVE to play DA 1 & DA2 before they can play DA3. This is not true as both fans who have played Dragon Age Origins & Dragon Age II AND new fans who have not played a Dragon Age game period can play and enjoy Dragon Age Inquisition.
The Mass Effect trilogy was always designed to be the story of Commander Shepard. Dragon Age has always been the story of the world of Dragon Age rather than one character within that world. In Origins you played the warden, in II you played Hawke, now in Inquisition you have to deal with the Inquisition. DAI (which I use instead of typing out Inquisition) is a new chapter in the world, so we changed the name to reflect this.
I think that part of the reason some fans disliked DAII (along with reusing areas, changes to combat and yadda yadda) was that we didn't do a good enough job of explaining the change in story. Some people played DAII expecting it to be Dragon Age Origins Part 2 and the continuation of their Warden character, which is wasn't intended to be. We want to be very clear that Dragon Age Inquisition is a new chapter in the world of Dragon Age, so we dropped the 3 as we felt it tied the game too closely to the first two games.
Not that Dragon Age Inquisition will be 100% completely new. As you saw in the trailer, Morrigan, Varric & Cassandra play a role in the game. It is possible that other characters, places, things, stories, etc do as well. You'll learn more about that as we reveal more about DAI as we move towards launch next year. Took this from a thread in the DA:I forums, where people are whinging about the Warden again. It's pretty much confirmation that Morrigan, Varric and Cassandra will play a role in the game. Which we already figured, but... confirmation is confirmation, right? So they weren't just put into the trailer to show how expansive the destruction from the tear/things going to sh!t are.
Maybe they have story important roles beyond just a quest?
And a hint that other characters might show up!
Yes, I am reaching. I am reaching a lot. Lemme alone.

On how important they are? Hard to say. I still think they were in the trailer only because they're fan faves. But I'm hopeful they're more than just cameos in the game.
Also curious that they think folks didn't like DA2 because they expected the warden. I've never heard that, but then I only hear the discontent on BSN which probably has distinct concerns from the average player.

Thanks, Dirgegun. Yeah, I was figuring they wouldn't bother creating their models if those characters weren't actually in the game... But given dev comments about how we can't trust anything in the trailer, it IS good to have confirmation.

I personally liked DA2, but I did wonder if it would've been better if they hadn't put a 'II' in the title, seeing the games are more about the history of the Dragon Age rather than direct sequeals like the Mass Effect trilogy. That was just a thought, though, and not occumpanied by 'where's my warden rawr!'
Personally, I'm not sure why people are throwing fits over the Warden. I like my Warden, but I never got the feeling that there was more to tell about her story. It seemed pretty done to me after Origins, and it still felt done even after Awakening and the like...
That's my personal thoughts on it, anyway.

I've never used either, I don't have any experience with that sorta thing so I wouldn't know where to begin. Wiedzmin would probably be the one to ask, he's good at all that sort of thing.

Yeah, I agree. I think people just get really attached to their characters, and the people that seemed to dislike 2 -really- don't like it, beyond just their lack of Warden. They don't understand, it's not Mass Effect where you're the same person with new romanceable people per game. As the Warden, you'd figure everything to do with them would be Grey Warden and darkspawn related, and Thedas is too full of lore, of potential for me to want to -only- stick with my Warden and their adventures.Dirgegun wrote...

What I find weird is that people don't want DAI to be better than DA:O. You'd think everyone would want DAI to be a million times better because it'll be a brand new DA game for us to experience with fresh eyes, not to mention how much prettier everything will look with the new engine, smoother controls and probably a longer story too.

My husband gets all the funny dreams! Talks in his sleep, too. Just this week, he was rambling about losing his squadron, and he had to return to the castle to defend it, the demons were pouring out. This had nothing to do with DA:I
