My husband gets all the funny dreams! Talks in his sleep, too. Just this week, he was rambling about losing his squadron, and he had to return to the castle to defend it, the demons were pouring out. This had nothing to do with DA:I

Usually from the never satisfied with anything types, who are usually also stubborn as Hellfire and... blah, half of 'em just make me wanna smack some sense into them. The ones that are deadset on hating this game before it's even came out, solely because they didn't like 2, or the ME3 endings. I find so many comments on things where they say they have no hope for BioWare, they've been "disappointed" too often, they're boycotting future things, they "know" this'll be bad.LolaLei wrote...

Yeah, I agree. I think people just get really attached to their characters, and the people that seemed to dislike 2 -really- don't like it, beyond just their lack of Warden. They don't understand, it's not Mass Effect where you're the same person with new romanceable people per game. As the Warden, you'd figure everything to do with them would be Grey Warden and darkspawn related, and Thedas is too full of lore, of potential for me to want to -only- stick with my Warden and their adventures.Dirgegun wrote...

Thanks, Dirgegun. Yeah, I was figuring they wouldn't bother creating their models if those characters weren't actually in the game... But given dev comments about how we can't trust anything in the trailer, it IS good to have confirmation.
Also curious that they think folks didn't like DA2 because they expected the warden. I've never heard that, but then I only hear the discontent on BSN which probably has distinct concerns from the average player.
I personally liked DA2, but I did wonder if it would've been better if they hadn't put a 'II' in the title, seeing the games are more about the history of the Dragon Age rather than direct sequeals like the Mass Effect trilogy. That was just a thought, though, and not occumpanied by 'where's my warden rawr!'
Personally, I'm not sure why people are throwing fits over the Warden. I like my Warden, but I never got the feeling that there was more to tell about her story. It seemed pretty done to me after Origins, and it still felt done even after Awakening and the like...
That's my personal thoughts on it, anyway.
What I find weird is that people don't want DAI to be better than DA:O. You'd think everyone would want DAI to be a million times better because it'll be a brand new DA game for us to experience with fresh eyes, not to mention how much prettier everything will look with the new engine, smoother controls and probably a longer story too.

Yeah, that's what bothers me the most, their responses are usually extremely uppity and rude, whilst managing to imply anyone who -did- like the previous games are in the wrong.
I figured they were keeping more on the hush-hush -because- of all the bad opinions, waiting till they had good enough things to show out of hopes of impressing/changing the minds of the people who still don't want it, or aren't sure about it, yet.
But on the other hand, I could see this backfiring, too. I think the flames need to be fed, otherwise they're risking burn-out when people lose their enthusiam. Can only go on crumbs for so long.
Yeah, they've been comparing the two since before Witcher's reveal, which I haven't really thought was fair. Lots of other fantasy games coming out, those aren't getting the same comparisons. Different story, different world, different character. Till they both come out, I don't think there's much comparison to make. Definitely wouldn't do the whole "one is better than the other!" thing, since to me, they're completely different from each other. One might prefer a series to another, but I'm not gonna jump the gun when DAI hasn't even come out yet.LolaLei wrote...

Yeah, I think if they leave it much longer the rumours and poison will only get worse. Especially now that everyone has seen the TW3 reveal which gave us a lot more information than DAI did, people have already upped the comparisons between both games dispite knowing next to nothing about DAI.
I guess it doesn't help that TW3 won an award recently, based on their E3 reveal alone and that was just their pre-alpha stuff.

I guess it's the same when 2 similar themed movies come out, people can't decide which to pick. Personally, I'd just go for both. Might be the same genre, but I'm sure I'll get differing thrills.
Could be other reasons they want more mystery behind this. People already know of Geralt and his world, etc., so perhaps it's just safer to reveal more of TW3. But we can't know that, till we know more. For all we know, they've changed the direction to such an extent, they don't have anything concrete to show us, yet.

So long as I know what became of my Warden and Hawke (and that they're preferably safe/will be safe and with their LIs) then I'm good.
I like that we get to play as a new character every game because I get to craft completely new characters in a new CC (after my initial play-through where I play as myself, of course), plus I like that we get to experience Thedas and the events/issues within it from a different POV each time.

Ooo that gets me excited for DD, which I just started recently [smilie]http://social.bioware.com/images/forum/emoticons/grin.png[/smilie]
Agree about BW's awesomeness, but I would also add Portal... my jaw hit the ground the first time I came to that ending.
