I was comparing Varric's DA2 model to his new DAI model yesterday and aside from his hair looking darker (which is probably due to the lighting) he still looks much the same, just a lot less cartoony.
I mean, the textures on his skin with the scars, burns and stubble etc is absolutely stunning! Based off Varric's new appearance I'd presume that Cullen's new model will have followed a similar transformation.
Yeah, this is what I mean. I'm sure it'll grow on us, and feature for feature, it'll look like him. Like, you know he'll have the same hair. But, he'll be ... I dunno, gritty like this. Which could work, but will inevitably be as big a shock.

That's awesome! I can tolerate the fur pelt because it allows me to suspend my belief, pretend that it's Cullen in DAI with the new female protagonist, and not Amell or Hawke for once!

I always thought that the skin textures on the unique face models of the companions, Meredith and Cullen weren't too shabby, but looking at the comparison here you can see how badly the old engine was aging. Like, when I look at pictures of Cullen currently his skin texture actually looks pretty detailed but I know once we see his DAI model it'll be quite the opposite.
I kinda have a rough idea of what I think he'll probably look like, but I'm sure it'll be quite a shock when we actually see the real thing. I just hope he's equally (if not, more) handsome than he is in DA2. I'm all good with scars 'n' stuff too. I'm hoping that his body/back will carry a few scars too, like that big Qunari dude from the trailer.

Yeah, it is stunningly different. That's why I keep trying to imagine Cullen looking more realistic. The cartoony look is necessarily glowy and idyllic, which I think contributes to Cullen's good looks. With the new engine he probably won't be as dreamboaty perfect, but I would hope he'd still be rather handsome.LolaLei wrote...

I wouldn't say he's dreamboaty perfect since he has his fair share of wrinkles, dark circles and furrows on his forehead lol. I think the more realistic graphics and textures could potentially make him look even better. I like the idea that he'll most likely have a few facial scars and imperfections it'll make him look like those battle hardened men in action movies with the traditional good looks but with a weathered manlyness. Now that's my kinda man!

Don't worry too much about that. Originally there was going to be multiplayer because EA passed a rule that all their titles would have it included in there games, however since that last CEO (or whoever he was) stood down they've dropped a lot of those stupid policies. Aaryn Flynn tweeted the following:
*Name removed*: "Are there any plans for multiplayer in DA:I? I love the ME3 MP so def want to run amok as a mage (OR A DRAGON)"
Aaryn Flynn: "I love ME3 MP too! No plans for MP in Dragon Age Inquisition at this time - very focused on the single player currently; it needs to be great"
So while that doesn't completely rule multiplayer out, for the time being it looks like it won't be part of DAI.

yea i thin BW would have been better off wit activision then with EA at least from what i hear activision doesn't force mp on games as EA does but hopefully we will be lucky enough not to have mp idk i just dont want DA to turn into other boring games as rift wow gw diablo and so on i just want a clean sp rpg game
I'm hoping that after the fallout of DA2 and the ME3 ending EA will have learnt their lesson and (hopefully) now know that you can't treat RPG games like their sports titles which can be rehashed and churned out every season.

This is a really good comparison, and IMO, just proves that we have A LOT to look forward to in regards to Cullen's appearance in DAI 8D

It sounds weird, but I'm really intrigued about what kind of skin texture they'll give him with all the little subtle details they'll add like scars, the odd freckle here and there, his furrowed worry lines, the dark circles around his eyes etc.
I'm going to enjoy analysing his new face with you guys and speculating about how he may have acquired said scars, lol!

Morrigan's hair looked more flowy in the trailer than in the previous games, although I wouldn't say it's quite on par with the hair physics in the latest Tomb Raider game.

*Fields of Gold plays*
...*gigglesnorts* Okay, this is what happens when I stay up too late.
But seriously: looking at Varric's hair right now, I can only imagine what they could do with Cullen's. Or even the CC's hair choices! It actually looks touchable now, and not a piece of lego hair. I actually really liked Fable 2's hair physics; granted it's out of date now, but back when I first played it and I had my character wear the long hair, I was amazed at how smooth the hair looked.

I think the ME3 MP worked well, and, though some people claim they needed to play it to get the 'best' ending, I never had that problem. I had the 'best' ending without any MP involved. So I wouldn't be against MP if it was in there, especially when such things have a seperate studio and a seperate budget.
Saying that, however, I would personally be in it for the single player story. I just wouldn't be up in arms over MP being involved. I don't mind other people getting what they like. I've loved every Bioware game I've played, and I have no doubt I'll get what I like with DA:I. So I'm not about to say other people don't deserve to get what they might like.

I think he can be counted as 'dreamboaty' if he triggers what you like! I like older, weathered, potentially cynical guys with hearts of gold, so I'm all over dat.

MP doesn't mean MMO. MP is an extra while MMOs are made to be massive multiplayer games. So comparing MP in general to Rift, WoW, and the like is a bit unfair.

wouldnt suprise me if they did turn it into an mmo tho cuz i dont really see how DA would work as an mp unless they turn it into some kind of weird **** shooter type of game i really dont see how its gonna work out as a"good" mp for DA the only reason ME was good as an MP was because it was a shooter game shotter games USUALLY tend to do well with MP soo... yea thats just my opinion..

I think I remember one of the devs saying that if they did MP for Dragon Age they would want it to be like the MP in Bulder's Gate. Which would be pretty kickin'. I'm all for tactics gameplay.
