I dunno given the discontent with Alistair's appearance in DA2... if I were them, I wouldn't include Alistair just for a cameo. But, that's just me. I mean, I still squeed when I saw him in DA2, but doing the same in DAI just seems... gratuitous. With Morrigan... eh, I'm hoping this means she has an important role to play.

I'm kind of hoping the opposite, since I don't really care for her character <_< And my Warden hardly ever spoke to her, and let Alistair do the Dark Ritual with her. A year or so later, I finally played Witch Hunt for completion, and he was like, okay, see ya, enjoy your Mirror *waves and walks away* ... talk about the dumbest DLC ever; it was scripted for my Warden to really care about Morrigan, when he didn't; the writers were really trying to force that (not necessarily romantic) relationship between these two characters, despite the fact that they gave us the choice to not let that relationship even develop. The fact that my Warden seriously bonded with Alistair, who was his first human friend, and whom he thought of as a big brother? Unimportant. Cause Alistair's a dude and doesn't wear hot outfits and smirk and pout at the camera.

Although that's true he did get a cameo in DA2. But did they honestly care about him? He looked like crap. And Zevran? Don't get me started on Zevran. Yes, BW, some people loved Zevran, even romanced him. For some people, he was the most important companion in the game. But you screwed up his final romance dialogue and never fixed it. Then you screwed up his romance dialogue again in DA2 and never fixed it.

I've worked myself up into a "F*** you, BioWare" frenzy now lol

Why does no one bend over backwards for our pervy needs? Someone of us are gagging for Cullen over here! :lol::lol:

Because despite the fact that we supposedly make up almost half of the gaming public, the industry still thinks we're all playing Angry Birds

Yeah, I totally see your point on Morrigan's overratedness (yes, it's a word! ahem). But the highlighted part is basically why I'd sorta prefer they not even try if the whole point of the cameo is as, erm, emotionally resonant as the cameos in DA2. (of course, I'll eat these words, this computer screen and maybe my hard drive if BW applies my logic also to Cullen...  :o:O:o )

LOL  Give that Angry Bird a two-handed broadsword and a templar companion... and I'll consider it. :P

They'll experience a whole flock of angry "birds" if they aren't careful!

I think that if they're going to do cameos then it should be logical to the plot, rather than a "small world" situation. That being said, with the state of Thedas as it is it's possible that they could all show up in a cameo at some point since a Fade rip effects everyone.

I have a lot of pages to catch up on though lol. *goes back into hiding*

hey all!
sigh. this is such a nice pic. Ack, I wish I coulda given Cullen a little kiis on the cheek for what he did at the end of the da2. He deserved a lil peck.

Oh, you know what I would love to see in DAI? Corypheus/Larius as a companion. Yes! Mind you, after  he's had some time to...ahem..."heal". Instead of looking all like some poor, mangy, flea bitten dog that just washed up.

I could see him being our grey warden companion. Better than Justice. Cuz Justice was kinda naive even when he was all Vengeance-y. Justice in DAA was really interesting as far as his insight on the differences between fade and our mundane reality.

But Cory! The insight he could offer abt Tevinter. The Golden/Black City. The first times. I would love that.

But then there's Janeka. <_< Hmm, they could hand wave Janeka, and  say..well..it turned out she was too corrupted and Cory had to jump again. I'd be cool w/that:wizard:

Although, Larius was pretty damn corrupted, too. lol! But Janeka was corrupted....in  diff way..it seemed more "muahaha".

Idk, but I'd like to have Cory/Larius as the grey warden companion. Not Stroud. Stroud is boring.

Oh, and Cory/Larius would have some kick butt Spec skills. Warden and First Magister? Yesss.

Anywoo, I'm gonna hit up some Dragon's Dogma for now. MMG got me back into playing it. I'm off to the Blue Moon Tower. Long journey. Grueling battles. But I made sure to always have a Ferrystone on me. Cuz after all that, and srsly weighed down w/Loot!, there is no way I'm hiking all the way back to the city.

:kissing:

OK, so I'm still in catch up mode from traveling so just finally watched the Jessica Merizan interview with reddit. I don't think I saw nearly enough squeeing about her not-very-veiled hints that Morrigan is going to be wearing a BALLGOWN somewhere that isn't Fereldan! "where would you wear something like that..." Well, we already know it's the identical dress from the Orlais fashion pics in WoT... but she notably called it a BALLGOWN. I think ball is a go for DAI!!

And since excited squeeing about a ballgown needs an illustration... let's go with this one again.

Image IPB

Isn't that waist too long? Maybe I am not seeing the correct proportions? I am looking forward to Jessica cosplaying that.

A long, or "cone" waist was the desired beauty in the 16th - 17th centuries. The corset pushed up the chest, and squeezed the waist so tight to make it nonexistant. Granted, the concept art above makes the hips more noticable.

Yeah, that looks about right to me. Whenever I've worn a corset in the past its done pretty much the same.

Yes but the shape is the exact opposite between each picture. The actual corset makes a person bigger up top, small at the waist and hips. Concept art is tiny at the top (empire waist, almost... which makes no sense with a corset) and fanning out larger to the waist and even bigger at the hips. It's almost like she's not really wearing a corset; just a dress made to look like one.

So this is interesting:

It's the Frostbite 3 engine in action via Battlefield 4. Definitely worth a look to give us some idea of what DAI is capable of from an environment point of view.

I was talking about Morrigan's dress. The concept art is a little strange although I guess it could be some weird Orlesian fashion with a special corset or something. Just like Lady Gaga.

I think she was, too, since  Morrigan's dress and the Orlesian concept one are the same. I figure this one is better than the true corset, since it probably gives  you more space around your waist. LOL Like wearing a birdcage.

i hope so cuz it would be a shame for an engine like this to still kinda have the  "old look"

Indeed, hair looked bad in the trailer. :( Again, sorry for the constant DD references xD but hair is so beautiful in that game. The ponytails are full and bounce with movement, for instance. Morrigan, in the trailer, looked like she'd put tons of product in her hair, so nothing moved except the little tendril hanging down the side of her cheek (which looked still very stiff, almost oily).

But the skin DOES look great. And yeah, tis early days yet....

I actually did mean the concept art!  But only because it's too hard to see how Morrigan's dress looks in that pic. However, I will be the first to admit I know very little about early modern fashion. Nineteenth century is more my area of expertise (and I hesitate to use the word "expertise"...).

I do hope they push more towards designing their own culture and fashion instead of copying real world history. PLEASE, no more men in hose and doublets. Ick.

Wow, the dress is crystal clear to me, but I realize now that's because my laptop always makes things lighter than my desktop does. Anyhoo, here's a lightened version.

I kinda like the gold undertunic thingie covering her breasts and showing between the laces. Also, in practice, the weird empire waist thing isn't as dramatic.

yeah, I can't tell if it's dark, or could it be lighter (like the concept art) but colored blue by the weird lighting.
