P.S. I'll be spending less time online for some time. And won't be able to continue this. But maybe it's time to remember how to draw on paper =]

Avilia, that pic makes you want to give the Knight-Captain a thorough foot rub. Poor guy, his dogs must kill him at the end of the day.

Gala, I hope everything is okay with you! Less internets would make me a sad panda. :(

It's great isn't it? That was my thought to the artist - Cullen soaking his feet after a hard day standing about in the Gallows. The rest is her talent :)

We'll miss you Gala! Hope things are finished and sorted out soon (and you don't forget us while you're gone ;-) ). We'll keep Cullen warm for you.

Oh gosh, Gala, I hope all is well as you "unplug."  We will miss you.

Cullen says, "Maker watch over you."

@rak72, I'll finish it when I have my table back, lol. I hope it will happen sooner, because it sucks to be separated from my PC for so long. I even found that Finding Nathaniel quest fix and can't try it! (((

Don't miss me, guys, I still can check this thread sometimes at work. Tell me if Cullen will be mentioned in the new DLC. I doubt it and I'm not sure I will buy it. The only thing that can save MotA for me is more Cullen or more Carver :) Or more cameos from DA at least.

@R2, aww, it's so sweet of Cullen to say that! I often think Hawke doesn't deserve it. My Hawkes at least. They all are too pro-mage, and I imagine Cullen thinking: "How can somebody like Hawke be so blind and stubborn? She talks to me like I'm a pure evil, and I just do my job and guard this city :((("

I'm glad I'm not the only one thinking something similar. Of course... I'll probably buy it anyway... :pinched: but not too excited about Tallis. I'm curious about the Redemption web series, but the MoA trailer just reminded that altho I like Felicia Day in principle (as a gamer with all around cool geek cred), she just sets my teeth on edge when I see her on "screen." But, I'll still cross my fingers, in vain, for some more Cullen goodness.

Hee hee, that's just the kind of sweet guy he is. ^_^Doin' his job, takin' care of business, with no thought of reward. Hmmm, is Cullen a superhero...?

Where did everyone go? I had a dream yesterday about Bethany having a secret crush on Cullen. It was hilarious. She was doing all those things I was doing when I was 9 and liked a boy in the class:

- Telling everybody that he's a terrible, horrible, ugly and disgusting.
- Secretly chasing him around Gallows when she has a chance.
- Staring into his window for hours out of her window.

But he was oblivious to all her attempts to... not to look like she had a crush on him, lol. And it was just like Pushkin wrote: "with womankind, the less we love them, the easier they become to charm". Poor Beth. That dream sort of made my morning :)

lol that's cute. I sort of imagine Cullen would be one of those men who's completely oblivious to all the swooning women around him.

Cullen: *looks down at woman lying on the ground* "Something amiss recruit?"
Thrask: *sigh* "Another one."
Recruit: *swoon* He spoke to me!"
Cullen: "I think this recruit might be ill. Best call a healer to her."

Eh, not very funny but, there ya go.

In my headcanon, girly!Templar has a crush on Cullen. He slowly picks up on this over the course of the game, but it just makes him feel sad for her, because he remembers what it was like to be in that situation, and he can't possibly give her what she needs.

I'm less likely to make up random mages who have a crush on him, especially before act 3. The reason Amell is believable is that she knows what he was like before the ordeal, and also knows what he's been through, so she's liable to forgive him his rants.

@Avilia, I bet that happens a lot. Cullen is cursed with that handsome face, and Greg Ellis' voice, and with his knightly and noble demeanour. He's like Mr. Darcy with a few drops of Don Quixote. My girly dream come true. If I were a templar, I would ask to assign me to Anderfels just to avoid swooning in front of my officer.

@CGG, poor girly!Templar. It's true, they are not allowed to "fraternize", I really hope poor girl will leave the order and return to her mother.

Hee hee, Gala, I was wondering the same thing. Maybe without you, we feel like we have nothing to say. :D

The notion that all the girls have crushes on Cullen just tickles me. I wasn't really keen on Bethany+Cullen til I read a cute story like that. It gives a different spin to some of her comments, like when Hawke talks to Cullen the first time and she's all "It's the Knight-Captain. Don't!" That it's not just because she's nervous around Templars in general, but also because she's had a big ole crush on him.

And, I love the notion that all the seemingly numerous fem!Templar recruits have a crush on him. That fits nicely with that glitchy moment at the end of Act 3, where all the Templars are suddenly women. I could also see the mages having a crush, since compared to the typical Templar, boy is Cullen nice! It's not like he's spewing mage hate at them all the time. And, nice to look at... ahem.

@CGG, I see a plot bunny there about girly!Templar!

@R2, what I like about Cullen is that he may think that all mages are weapons of mass destruction, but he's very polite to them. After Uldred he hated them all and probably wanted them all dead, but he was only glaring. He has reasons to be mean to them, to want to do the things some other templars do, but he doesn't. So, a mage who doesn't know about his past and doesn't talk to him often can simply not know what Cullen really thinks about mages, and to this mage Cullen may seem like a really good guy, just because he doesn't do anything bad. And for me it's easy to see that some mages can have a crush on him. Though I doubt he would respond to their feelings. He respects mage Hawke, because Hawke has proven her/his good intentions and defended the city, he is fond of Amell, who was special and stopped the Blight, but he makes it clear, that mages in the Gallows are just mages, and I think he would never fall for his ward again. He just won't let himself see a mage as an equal person, who can be adored. It's not because he's a bad person, it's just because he feels betrayed after Uldred's rebellion and can't trust a mage like he did then.
So, my Bethany dream will remain a crack pairing :) (all above is imho)

I think you're probably right, esp. for the fact that he's already done the 'fall for a mage under his care' thing, and probably learned from his mistakes. Hawke still mysteriously seems to have this 'other' status for him, but I could definitely see him having trust issues with his 'own' Circle mages.

That said, I still like the idea of poor Beth having a crush on him... It has the sweetness and yet inevitable doom-like quality that Cullen's crush had in DA:O. :P

As for all those silly recruits, heck, I'd probably join the Templars if Cullen was on their recruitment poster!

That's it!! The reason there were suddenly female Templars in Awakenings! They must have put Cullen on their poster and so many women applied that they had to start accepting them.

It all makes sense now. I understand why Ruvena is the only recruit who knows that Cullen chased after Wilmod. I'll bet she hovers around being 'helpful' and trying to chat him up.

LOL, now I'm imagining the new recruits sitting in a meeting, pretending to listen to Cullen but really they're all swooning. It's like that scene at the beginning of Raiders of the Lost Ark where a majority of Indy's students are female and one has writen "love you" on her eyelids.

Fangirl had lunch with David Gaider and he shared some info with her: skyelinepigeon.tumblr.com/post/10530097095/some-interesting-details-on-dragon-age-from-david

Cullen - I asked about Cullen’s backstory, but Gaider really didn’t have much to say other than “he’s a native Fereldan.” Jordan, his friend with him on the trip, didn’t even know who I was talking about, and Gaider seemed a little surprised when I told him how much the fandom has latched onto him. I really think he’s got no clue how much we all love him! But while he didn’t say much about Cullen’s history, we did talk about how we admired his personality and how reasonable he was. Also, good news—he mentioned an interest in maybe revisiting Cullen!! He described Cullen as someone who has had his good faith broken twice—once by the mages in the circle, who he trusted, and then by Meredith, who he also trusted. Gaider expects “angst” in his future, which we may see in the series. I hope so!
