lol I only played a mage warden once and I... oh, that's a lie; I think I started two... anyway, I don't remember interacting with Cullen all too well. I just remember he says he was glad my mage made it through the Harrowing. The mage warden I remember best was a goody two-shoes so it's doubtful he took the mean options with Cullen   He romanced Alistair, but I never completed that playthrough because Alistair calls him a woman too much lol And I figured it would be useless as a save file since the game would probably make my Warden female or else not recognize the romance...

I'm going to make this Mage my 'new canon'. He's going to romance Zevran, have a baby with Morrigan, Anora to rule all bitter and alone, Alistair Warden and then go into the Mirror with Morrigan. SO EXCITED!

I could never mess with him, the poor man is stuttering before I even start for crying out loud.  I wonder if they would change his personality much if he was a companion in DAI. He has seen more by that time and we would learn new stuff merely on account of him featuring more prominently, but I kinda liked his style in DA2.

It's nice to see his development. From a bit of a newb (though with strong faith) that looks up to KC Gregoire and wants to be just as dedicated (LOL) to the person he becomes at the end in DA2. BRILLIANT development. I really want more! MOAR I SAY!

Yeah, I agree with both of you. There's so much room left for him to grow, and I wonder where he ends up. Do they take him down a notch as to explain why he would be a follower (he just seems so dedicated and principled, on the other hand I guess the DA2 people did too), or will his development just carry on forward in a straight line..?

Just curious, how many of you guys are having Alistair as king in your canon playthrough? How many as warden?

I want to do a second canon playthrough, with a Dalish warden. Because I initially wanted a Dalish canon, but screwed up and had to sleep with Morrigan. So city elf became my canon. But he made Alistair king. I'd like to do something different this time around.

Although... He's waiting, because I will be back. (Just need to bring up my son and save him from the witch who knows nuffink' abooot empathy. Kind of.) 

Edit: Always made Alistair King. Only married him once. (My only female playthrough) Lost all saves except my Cousland queen. So making this new Amell my primary to bring over. I think I won't even harden Alistair in this one.

I always make him king when rolling a noble, and never marry him. I imagine someone like that would be unable to ignore the consequences of disrupting the royal line and letting Loghain's betrayal benefit his daughter.

All other playthroughs I make him a warden, I generally feel that Anora would make a better ruler.

Speaking of looking feminine, I'd kick the arse of the b!tch currently sitting in my living room regardless of if i was wearing armour, a dress, my PJ's or a ****ing bikini. Wouldn't effect my ability to kick seven bales of sh!t out of her.

... My housemate is a ****, he thought it would be a good idea to strike up a relationship with my boyfriend's ex and then invite her into our home. I wouldn't have minded except she's spent the last year slagging me off and pinning over my bf. I swear she's just here to cause trouble.

One false move and I'm gonna kick her right in the ****.

i have 3 saved games , 1 Alistair is king 2 he remains a warden and 3 he died

That sucks. Y'all need to kick that guy out. I have a no roommate policy. I'm too old for roommates! Too set in my ways. Not that my experience with roomies has been anything close to yours or even bad; my roomies were my best friends. But I was in my early-mid 20s and I just don't think I could put up with that mess anymore.

Okay, I think for my second canon playthrough of DA:O I will let Alistair be a Warden. I will let him father Morrigan's child though because I just CANNOT STAND that cut scene between Morrigan and the Warden; it's repulsive lol (unless they're actually in a relationship, then of course it's lovely and fine)

He's not pleased, but he's more annoyed at me for complaining about it when I said that she could come over in the first place, tbh I felt like I didn't have a choice because the housemate pays rent. 

I might just train the cats to attack on command.

It's not a mod. I just modded it myself. But it's pretty straightforward... particularly for someone slightly techy... which IIRC you are...? Simplest way is just to edit your save file and dump Cullen's head into whoever you want to be him, Hawke, any follower, some NPCs. If you want more details I can shoot them to you, if you like. Changing the body/clothes is an extra layer of complexity, but still relatively straightforward.

So you want Cullen knifing the dude who's holding Feynriel..? Is that how that scene goes down?  Trying to remember now. All I can really recall is that I tried so hard to do the "right" thing while not getting disapproval from Fenris! LOL
