I feel like I need to speak up for my gender here, but I'm not sure if there's anything I can say that won't be construed as creepy in and of itself. Even that.

D'aww, we love our Cullen thread guys! (and, yes... when your small numbers are countable, we claim you all! mwahaha!)

Oh yeah, sorry for the blanket statement  It was just an unsettling moment, and Nikki's story brought it all back LOL I have many men, friends, family, co-workers, who are awesome and feminists and progressives and so on and so forth. Go cool guys!

Well after a very awkward Gamestop event, I got my copy of Dragon's Dogma! Running the install disc now. Anyone on xbox that I can add?

...should I ask?

It's a bit funny, but yea I don't mind explaining.

I was standing in line to talk to the guy at the counter, and he is trying to hold a convo w/ me while helping these other ppl. Pretty much just ignoring them. When he gets to me, I get my game and he gives me this very intense stare and says "have a beautiful day" I'm just like "um....right. Thanks man."

Men are creepy. Period. At my conference, I was in the elevator alone with a man, and after some generic small talk, he seriously gave me the once over and asked in a (presumably) seductive voice, "You going to the pool later?"

I was so taken aback I can't even remember my response. Should've been a backhand lol

I know whenever I go to a GameStop men stare like "omg a gurl gamer!" :wub::wub::wub::wub::wub::wub:

But they've been nice and we carry on conversations about our favorite games. Stayed for two hours once talking about Mass Effect and Dragon Age; it was a serious nerd-out.

LOL That's more response I'm used to around gamers. Like, that strange perk up in the tone of the other gamers in your PUG when they hear your female voice for the first time.

And, MMG, boys, girls, anybody can be creepy if they're seriously going to try to pick you up like that, in an elevator, at a conference. Reminds me of that flap with Richard Dawkins and his incendiary comments about feminism, atheism and ... elevator pick ups! LOL

Wow... I couldn't make it past his comment about chewing gum. Yeah, being creeped on, alone, in an elevator is the same as being annoyed by chewing game. Um, no? I was not just disgusted; I was embarrassed, I was a little afraid, and I felt violated. Geez. What an ****. I guess "smart" don't make you a nice guy, eh?

So these pawns...they are romance-able? So far all I have is Rook.

Rook is a "stand-in" pawn. After you advance in the game a bit, you will get to make your own pawn, as well as recruit others. Pawns aren't ... erm ... "real" people. I don't even know if you can romance them? But don't bother; they are like androids.

Here is a good romance guide: http://faq.cheatcode...ns-dogma/97653/

I recommend Reynard or Ser Maximilian; they are my favorites so far <3 Sadly they sound really really comical and stupid in English, so I recommend playing the Japanese version. Their voices are super hot lol There is also Julian, a noble, if you're into long-haired guys. And a sweet boy from your village, I forget his name. He seems like a teen.

You can actually romance anyone in the game, but the ones listed in that link are considered the "main" romanceable characters. As for the ladies, Ser Mercedes seems the most interesting to me.

I would've romanced my pawn, he was hot. He might still be lurking around in the pawn area in-game actually. I can't remember his name though.

Okay, I'll probably play tonight :D

Some things to note:

1. Don't stray from the road the first time you leave your village and head for the Encampment. If you do, you may miss Reynard, and he will be gone from the game forever. Even if you don't want to romance him, he is a traveling merchant, so you'll miss all his stuff. Plus he's just really sweet!

2. Don't advance too far in the game before completing Quina's rescue quest. Someone from your village will contact you and say Quina's missing, blah blah blah. DON'T TRAVEL to Gran Soren without doing her quest. You'll miss it, and you'll miss your chance to get an Arisen's Bond. Yeah, that's like a wedding ring lol WHICH I MISSED.

So FYI if anyone out there has an Arisen's Bond and would like to make me a copy....

I should add:

3. If you are talking to someone, and you hear a chime, that means they're starting to get a crush on you. If you DON'T want to romance this person, make sure you bring down their affinity. Best ways to do this are unsheathe your weapon in front of them or pick them up. They hate that.

Oh, is Reynard the one I saved from the goblins or whatever? Right now I'm fighting this massive troll thing, but I did save the merchant that was getting attacked omw to the camp so I think I'm good. And I did the two quests from the church before I left the village, couldn't find any others before I left.

That's the one! He's supposed to be a copy of my Hawke, River. Never got far enough into the game to do anything with him because it kept crashing or deleting my saved files.

... Poor Red.

Ohh, I'm making my own pawn now. He shall be my man candy, and I shall look upon him with lots of perversion.

I just literally LOL'd

Goody, you found Reynard. As for Quina, I think you have to defeat the Big Bad monster who will attack you soon. Just stay in the Encampment. Make your pawn. Then sleep. Then stuff happens. After stuff, go back to village.

Dragon Age saves them to a Screenshots folder in your local install folder. Probably My Documents/Bioware/Dragon Age 2/ Screenshots .

LOL! I must admit I did this myself. After I finished the game, I changed his appearance though and now I miss my sexy hunk of man-meat.

Oh, and if you want to add me, Nikki, go right ahead!

Unfortunately, no. But can't you take it back if it isn't playable?

Have never posted in here, but saw you discussing Dragon's Dogma. I played the hell out of that game over the past winter. I too made my "man candy" One of a PC (swash-buckler type), and the other was a pawn I fashioned after Fenris. *smirk!* I haven't picked the game up in a while, but I'll eventually go back to it. Total magpie, and that game calls to folks who favor loot. Oh yeah! XD

As for romance, no romancing of the Pawns (at least the ones that you make or follow you), but heed @motomoto's warning; if you don't want your PC ending up with the likes of Caxton the armorer, or the ever creepy Fournival (or worse, his 10 year old daughter o.O >.< ) watch your affinity (chiming noises and a pinkish hue/glow around the person will denote affinity). LOL! XD

I agree that I see him as believing very firmly in the Circle as a method for managing the mage situation. At the end of DA2, he was overthrowing Meredith, and saving the surrending mages, because of her actions -- her abuses of power -- were not what the Order stands for. Not because he thinks the Order is wrong to put mages in Circles. I also agree that he would still view fraternization within the Circle as wrong...

However, we have to remember that post-Asunder there are no Circles any more. So what happens to all those rules? If he doesn't have oversight over a mage, is it ok to get involved with her? Could he personally trust an individual mage? He ostensibly trusted mage!Hawke. Could he trust a mage enough to start a relationship? I think there's lots of playing field there for exploration. And angst!

Ha, true! In my head he's like one of those cops who are never off duty, because police work isn't what they do it's what they are. ALL mages are his responsibility, he's a Templar through and through. Similarly, I think it's more about duty than trust. Romantic feelings would interfere with his ability to do this divine duty of his and that just won't do.

It's a bit funny how little we know about him, yet this thread is absolutely massive. :D

I've finished the game, and I've never even seen a pink glow...:crying: Fictional people don't like me.
