I want for DA:I male LI something like Reynard and Maximilian, with Cullen fulfilling the Maximilian role (knightly, loyal, serious, kind, etc.). And the other LI I want to be cute and fun-filled.
Ohhhh yes! I was aiming for Valmiro, but every time Maximilian gave me a new quest I was being yanked in a new direction. Valmiro is very cute, but young. I like them older menfolk!
Serious / fun-filled would be a good balance. In Origins, Alistair and Zevran had their share of fun, and the women didn't have as much. In 2, it was sorta reversed. I'm thinking if Dorian stays a character, maybe he'd be an LI since there's usually a mage LI. His description seemed like he'd be fun. I just hope if that was him in the concept art, he loses the Vanilla Ice '80s style hair.

I'll have to try Ser Maximilian sometime - so far, I have only romanced Julien and I plan on pillaging...erm...romancing Valmiro next. He's such a sweetheart.
BTW how do you change the voices in the game? Because Juien's voice...blagh. XD
LOL Run, Valmiro, run!!
During game play, hit start (like you're gonna save), go to Options. Tab over one to Audio/Visual. Change "voice language" to Japanese. You will not be disappointed.
Reynard's cute Japanese voice just makes me want to do naughty things to his squishy little body
And Ser Maximilian is just... well... Rrrrrrrr! is the only way to put it lol So stoic and manly. Yet so deferential. BOW TO ME, MY HANDSOME KNIGHT!
Julian is absolutely gorgeous <3
I tried looking but I don't see that option anywhere. Is it only avaialble with Dark Arisen?

OMG... yesSo sorry, yes, it is only for Dark Arisen.

It's okay, I'll be able to buy it soon anyway.

Oh, and Ser Max is a good catch....well, for as much as the romances are worth in DD. LOL!
EDIT: jeebus! This thread moves too fast. Someone already mentioned Gideon's voice. nvm

Yeah it's hard though. Well, I mean, I put it on easy lol So it's not so hard IF you pace yourself, i.e. don't fight a cyclops or chimera until you've leveled up quite a bit. And don't forget to use your climbing function.
Aww much as I love Mr. Emery's voice it's not enough to make me burn my ears with the rest of these awful English voices lol Would that the rest of the cast were DA quality.

I think what put me off the most with DD was all the running around on foot, at least in Skyrim I had a horse or, once I'd be somewhere, I could fast travel. In DD I never did find that teleportation stone thingy.

Edit: Bwahahahaha! Some of these pawn's choice in clothing however! I just picked up a warrior, with booty shorts and a crop top on. He's my fabulous tank, we're going to kick a** and drool over my Vega pawn all day long.

The problem I found with DD is that you'd get all these quests, but it would never tell you which ones were doable then and there, and which couldn't be completed until later on. In the DA games it'll always tell you which quests can only be done after a certain point etc.

I managed to find two of them (portcrystals) so there are four in my game... one in Gran Soren, Cassardis, and I planted one at the Blue Tower or whatever it's called, and the Grand Encampment. And ferry stones are cheap after Dark Arisen, only 2K a piece. I always keep about 10 of them with me. And it's my go-to gift when releasing pawns xD
Yeah the quest system is bloody confusing. I think DD is really and truly old school rpg-ing.

1) Remember to switch up vocations from time to time. (many players use an every 10 levels switch to a new vocation, at least with the primary ones. Any that you don't fully evolve, you can go back to later.)
2) The level up and the vocation leveling is not on a ratio of 1:1. Simply put, to build up a vocation quickly without leveling to quickly fight lower level mooks (look for places that spawn goblins....those work great). It is a tad tedious, but you will be stronger at a lower level that way.
3) Hire pawns that have the best "inclinations". In particular look for those that are set for Scather, Challenger, Mitigator, Utilitarian. To a slightly lesser degree, Acquisitor, Pioneer, Medicant. Avoid Nexus and Guardian. Look at altering your own pawns "inclinations" using the Knowledge Chairs (found in most Inns and near the start of the Everfall), or the Elixirs of Inclinations sold by Jonathan near the rift stone in the Encampment.
Use the basic strategy for your pawns build, as you do for your own Arisen. Have fun!

I left the English voices on, and while there are a couple questionable accents, for the most part I think they're pretty good *shrugs* To each their own!

Oh they're okay, some are just really bad, and it just so happens to be the guys I think are sexy lol Their Japanese voices are way hot in comparison.

For those that are interested in a little help for builds and group dynamics in Dragon's Dogma, here are a few tips. Of course, feel free to ignore, if you wish to learn this stuff on your own.

Yeah I became a magick archer... think I'm gonna stay this way
I dunno what my pawn is... I sit her down in the chair and ask her a bunch of questions, but it's not clear what the result of those sessions is. Ah well.
Anyway, I do play on easy, so so far, nothing about the game has been remotely challenging.

The slight hiccup with DD is that some vocations actually are.....well, near to impossible to use to kill certain types of enemies. I suspect the game does this on purpose to encourage players to switch up their vocations, from time to time. One example is Golems. Magic has almost no affect on them (exception is spells that cause physical damage by specific means...i.e. having rocks fall on the Golem would have an effect). And since you can't micromanage your pawn helpers (like we can with our companions in DA), you have to count on your Arisen to fell most specialized baddies.

What do the pawns talk about when you sit them down? They must be pretty dull if they're just mindless followers.
They say stuff like, "Master, I have been helping you with advice from time to time, would you like me to continue?" And you select, "Make pawn talk more" or "Stay the same" or "Make pawn talk less" or something.
There are like four-five questions. They will ask how you want to shape their personality, too. My pawn is aggressive, confidant, and I think protects me.
