Sometimes I think that Bio is trolling us and none of the characters from the trailer is going to be a companion. I agree with you on Morri, she definitely does not feel like companion material. As for Varric, he gives a nice sense of continuity with the DA2, since he was the storyteller, hence I thought that the DAI might start with him, not as a companion but major npc, maybe quest giver. When it comes to Cass, I don't know. On one side she seems too powerful and important herself to be a teammate for our pc. On the other hand she seems to be the face of DAI so far and have a lot of spotlight, so maybe there is a place for her as a companion. When it comes to my preferences, if I had to choose I would like her to be the one, since she was not in the previous installments and seems important to the story. With Varric, I am on the fence, since I love him much (and Steve Bloom's voice) but he belongs to Hawke's story for me. Morri just does not fit as a companion at all.Danny Boy 7 wrote...
All great answers guys.
To clarify what I meant earlier, I didn't mean that our import did nothing in regards to the romance only that it might have happened because even if we chose a different origin Amell/Surana's story (and if female the romance) happened just like how we hear about the Dwarf commoner/noble in Origins and the Dalish in DA2.
Cassandra: Of all the companions I think Cassandra is the most likely to appear. She's been the most likely since we've known about the game, but Moto brings up a good point. I'm still hopeful, but she is rather high on the totem pole to be following orders. It's funny though considering how much evidence we have that points to her being a companion and we're still not sure if she is.
Varric: I'm a bit biased when it comes to whether I want Varric to be a companion. I mean on the one hand he is an awesome character and why show him in the first place if your not going to use him, but he's been a story centric character already in a full game. An expansion maybe, but another full game? I'd rather he just be an NPC. I like that his comic book appearance showed up in the trailer though.
Morrigan: No. She is definitely not going to be a companion, major NPC probably, but unless she pulls an Anders and is really important for a few moments than she isn't going to be a companion.
I'm wondering if the companion details we got from that leak is at all valid anymore and if we'll hear about Dorian, the Iron Bull or Sera first. I mean Anders was revealed second to last during the lead up to DA2.
