Ooh I got a question for you guys! Now that you saw the new graphic/art style how do you think Cullen will look? Do you have high hopes or are you discouraged?

im kind of 50/50 on that one im not sure what to expect i wanna keep my hopes up but for some reason i cant do that just yet untill i actually see what they've done to him

Yeah to be honest Cassandra is sort of iffy to me in the trailer. Her body shape is nice and when you see her order the charge her face seems fine but something s off when they have that close up.

The male characters look good though, Varric looks nice and the Qunari was awesome looking

i would like to think that maybe Cassandra was sort of rushed to just make some sort of presentation for e3  but since there is still a year and a half left of develompent i hope  that isnt the end result  yea Varric did look good  and so did Cass i think they just need to thiken her neck a lil bit and she'll be fine

I think it might just be a Merrill thing. She looks fine in the game but there is one scene that bothered everybody and made it into the game. It's when everyone was angry because Merrill might be a companion but looked like a little girl.

lol well she did kinda act like a kid sometimes  and she was very naive but she sure as hell looked a hell of alot diffrent in DA2 then in origins, in origins to me atleast she seemed a lil "mature"  and not so childish but, Cassandra wise  she def does not look like a kid lol  she looks more of a bad azz then anything as for her personality idk it could be the same or it could be changed guess we shall see...

Yeah, this is kind of my thought as well. However Cullen's going to look, it will be different. Full stop. Whether it's better, worse, attractive, not, whatever, I think will depend solely on the specifics of his particular rendering... and then each of our own personal tastes.  Independent of his facial reconstruction, a newly gritty and mussed Cullen could be fun...

Slightly apropos of this, I was watching James Marsters on Warehouse 13 last night and couldn't stop staring at his Cullen hair. LOL

Well  I meant that the angle could have just made her look worse than she really is like it made Merrill look. Merrill looks fine normally and at least in her twenties but the scene I was talking about makes her look funky.

In Origins she was definetily a lot more mature bith appearance and personality wise but I think that that we didn't really see to much of her to really tell.

Lol yeah. I mean honestly I think he'll look fine though as you said different. He's not that hard to copy over though. I mean Cassandra's new look grew on me eventually but I'd still like it if she looked a bit more like her DA2 appearance.

I remember when Dragon Age 2 was still coming out and there was a still image of Merrill from when she meets you at Sundermount. Due to the angle of the picture, a lot of people seemed to think she had these GG-cup boobs.

Naturally, there was this big stink about how Bioware was sticking giant breasts on little girls. But of course, when the game came out, we found out her bust was pretty modest.

Yeah, I think this just goes to show that... whoever we see early on in concept art and stills, we should probably reserve judgment til we see them in-game. I remember the first shot I saw of Fenris I thought was really unattractive... Now every cut scene of his makes me drool.

Everyone in the reveal trailer is probably still early days as well, but they're all growing me as well. I find I particularly like how Morrigan is much closer to her early art.

TBH, me, too. But, I think the DA2 art style necessarily makes everyone a bit more glowy and therefore idealized, sort of like those glowy glamour shots from the 40's. I think that effect will be gone now for everyone.

Oh man. You know... The meta nature of the actors watching the fans watching the actors is interesting... but I also got a vague sense of laughing at the fans. I mean, I'm sure PJ meant it all in good fun, but... am I the only one that felt that... ?

I feel the need to say something here. After E3 we had a bunch of mail threads going around with fans reacting to our trailers. My co-workers love it. Yes some laughed, but it was out of relief and pure joy that we hit home and the fans approved of their work. You have no idea how much stuff like that means to the anonymous workers who crunch and slave for peanuts. ^_^
It might be different if you're a famous Hollywood star though? :?

Yeah that's the one I'm talking about I'd forgotten what the stink was all about so thanks for reminding me. She looks fine for the rest of the game it's just that opening scene where she looks a little weird.

@R2 The art style is definitely growing on me, it's got that dark semi-realistic style of Origins, but its got it's own Bioware look like DA2. I love how the beasts look in particular and how they have a wide range of environments. Can you imagine an ogre or dragon busting through a wall or fighting an actual army.....the romance scenes...sorry I just love Frostbite.

no offense or anything but one thing i learned for games in general not just BW game , is that never get ur hope up too high and expect something glorious because u never know how it will actually turn out and it might not all be what u've imagined

Oh don't worry about that I don't expect anything expect what they've promised and even then I am expecting the worst and hoping for the best...if only out of habit.

Varric is still the only one who looked really good to me in the trailer (keeping in mind that yes the trailer has been released a year and a half before the game is to be released, so things will improve). But he also looks like he's had Bruce Jenner levels of plastic surgery lol

Morrigan is next best, though as I said before, her lip and facial movement seem stiff. Again, obviously something they will work on.

Cassandra... while very nice looking, does not look like DA2 Cassandra at all. They completely changed her. If I were a Cassandra fan, I'd be pretty devastated. I'm not a Cass fan (although I like her), so I'm just confused. Why the change?

You guys know I hate qunari dude lol Sorry. (However, I do like his face, when he turns and you see his profile, he seems to have a beard. Nicely done.)

The look of the environments is very nice, especially since that's all in game. But I was expecting that, you know? But I'm happy, definitely. But I was expecting it to look good lol

Tbh the best scene in the trailer (looked the nicest / realistic / cool) was the final scene of the Inquisitor (?) standing in the sandstorm.

Overall this does not worry me about the characters' looks; I think they will smooth their features out as they get better with the engine. Still baffled about Cass though.

And as for our boy... yes, I think he's going to look great. Varric and Morrigan's close ups are testament to this. Again, I'm sure they'll get better with making their faces move so that it doesn't look like they've had plastic surgery.

I think Cullen's going to look aged (in a good way) and real.

lol ya I kinda like how he looks in da2,  I  hope he kinda still remains like that but maybe with a lil scar here and there, nothing too exagerated tho , but hopefully they wont butcher him and make him look like his 100
(cuz of all the stress his been through and stuff or whatever)

To me it seemed that they were extreamly pleased with the fans reactions. Like that their trailer did so well to please, they're really excited that the fans loved the trailer that much. They're probably not use to seeing how fans react to a live trailer, so seeing the reaction itself was probably exciting and a bit strange for them all at once. But to me, they looked like they were super excited that the fans loved it that much and are now just more pumped to show ppl the real deal :D

I still think it's pretty astonishing that that was in game. I mean, wow.  Definitely not your grandfather's video game. ;)

Feedback is always great. I presume you guys aren't also filming and sharing your own reactions to the feedback, tho... That being said, the actors did seem tickled at the strong reaction (if also slightly... stunned...).

I'm sorry for being so down on the trailer :pinched: It's more a lack of having anything substantial to talk about, really! lol

Also.... it's STILL hurts that they canceled DA2 DLC. I was SUCH a supporter of BW, and told people to STOP criticizing, that even though it had been six months and no word of the next DLC, that BW wouldn't burn us like that! There were still clearly two spots for more DLC!

Then they just dropped that forum announcement out of nowhere: We're halting DLC and moving on to DA3.

I felt so devastated, and so, so burned!

So I feel nervous about being excited about something that they are once again being tight-lipped about.

And yet -- I am STILL their biggest fan. I still support anything BW makes 100% because I know it will be a narrative that no other gaming company is capable of approaching.
