To be honest I hope we get anything this "year" let alone within the next month. I'm being super cynical I know but I promise it's because we have so long until the actual release. Luckily we are in the middle of convention season so we'll likely be getting something.
I hope we get a character profile before the year is up though.
I think most likely we will be getting hints for the most part, as the game doesnt seem to be done, but i think we might get more in game footage maybe at the beginning of 2014 or mid 2014 idk. Right now i have a feeling that even with gaming convention season all we will get is maybe some new hints and other then that is gonna be pretty much stuff that we already know so far

To lighten things up I have something funny to tell y'all:
I was at a second-hand bookstore today looking through the romance novels (
"He stood there for a moment and Evelinde wished she could see his expression so she would have some idea of what he was thinking. Then, he turned away and carried her across the room to lay her on the fur in front of the fire. Cullen was very gentle about it, even-"
Me: O_o *goes back and reads*
"Cullen was very gentle about it(...)"
Me: ...Excuse me, ma'am, but how much is this book?
Not only that, but Duncan, Fergus, and the fur seem to make an appearance. Not the actual game characters mind you, but three people with the same names as the characters in DA? Someone wrote a naughty fanfiction! XD Anyway, it amused me to no end that the protagonist's name is Cullen.

LOL Yeah, after all his grumbling about the DA romances, despite how well he writes he them, "methinks the writer doth protest too much."LolaLei wrote...
Hehehe, cute. Good to know DG's not really all blood, drama and angst.
So sweet of him to chime in, though.

I know, I'm getting antsy too. I attempted at playing another DA2 PT and failed within five minutes.
To lighten things up I have something funny to tell y'all:
I was at a second-hand bookstore today looking through the romance novels (), specifically the Highlander section. I find a book called Devil of the Highlands. Seeing the saucy man on the cover, I naturally picked it up, flipped to a randome page and read:

Yeah, I'll bet anything DAI related will just be rehashing the reveal trailer. But there could be some new tidbits regarding other properties, like WoT, comics or even the new novel...LolaLei wrote...
Danny: After E3 they said we'd hear something "very soon", then they said two to three month, and now they're saying "sometime this year". At this rate I doubt we'll get anything at all.

@ag99, R2, Lola: Yeah I'm betting anything we learn will be a rehashing of the trailer news about the comics or other third party works. Still please ANY companion profiles would be awesome to me. More like Origins, less like DA2. They kind of spoiled a bit about the game with DA2's profiles.

hopefulley i kinda like Sebastion all tho he was a bit annoying at times and i hope and pray to god that we dont get someone like Tallis i strongly dislike that woman

Hmm, good question. Personally, I hope we don't, since I'd rather any companions be part of the core game with the same amount of content. I know arguments can be made about whether or not we would have gotten that companion anyway (something we'll never know) and how more is always better, but regardless of BW's decision process on a given character, there will always only be so many resources to go around. So while I love DLC, personally I think I'd prefer them to be story based, and if a follower makes sense for the story, then spend equivalent resources on him/her. Bioware's characters are so rich that I think it would be a shame to run into the 'second-class citizen' limitations we did with Seb, for example, where he doesn't come into the Fade, isn't a real romance, doesn't comfort you after your mom dies, isn't mentioned in the epilogue etcetc. Curiously, I didn't feel that way about Shale. She just feel like extra icing on the cake, perhaps because I never felt like she was lacking compared to the other companions. I wonder if that's true or just my perception?Danny Boy 7 wrote...

That being said, do I think we'll get one anyway...? I dunno, given BW's history with DA and ME, seems likely...?

DA2 was rushed compared to DA:O. They had about 6 years on DA:O, so Shale felt very fleshed out. Seb, on the other hand, felt half-finished which I think was probably down to time constaints. DA:I will have about 4 years on it by the time it ships so that should be plenty of time to flesh out all the companions, including the DLC ones (if there are any).

Agree with you, R2; Sebastian just made me so sad; he COULD have been a really great and fully realized character. Instead he just felt slapped together at the last minute, and never fully integrated into the story (plus there is the fact that he doesn't join the party until Act 2!). But will they do it; I think yes. Making a character DLC is a surefire way to make money from fans of the series.
And Shale is different from Sebastian because she's basically a joke character (all those "funny" lines about her liking pretty things and how she would make steroetypically feminine comments, and how funny that was coming from such a massive creature, only, what a laugh when she turns out to be girl! Ha ha... not), whereas Sebastian was supposed to be a very serious character and even possible romance.

Everyone with twitter jump on there and tell them you want Cullen to come back as a companion/LI. We shall not be ignored (LOL!)

Me neither. I thought she was the least feminine character in the whole game, she was also my favourite.

Yeah, I guess the way Sebastian was written, it felt like more like they weren't quite finished writing him when the game had to ship. So they slapped together as much as they had done, and were like, "Here. He's not quite done, but you might as well enjoy what we had time to do. Oh, and by the way, why don't you pay us a little extra for it." In comparison to Shale... if she was more fully written because they had more time... I guess I still then wonder why she was DLC...
Maybe Shale was like Javik in ME3, always supposed to be in the main game, but locked out and turned into DLC for extra money?
