Good point. Definitely a preferable way to become special snowflake Inquisitor. Also a nice way for us to still be a bumbling n00b, and yet still be important enough for the likes of Cassandra to hang with us.motomotogirl wrote...

Maybe it's kinda like Shepard when he/she touched the beacon and ended up unlocking the secrets about the Reapers? So perhaps Mr/Miss Inquisitor accidentally unlocks something that ends up making us the key to stopping the veil rip threat?
I like that. I mean in an RPG there's no way to get out of being a special snowflake, but I like it if it's something that just HAPPENS to us, like Shepard or the Arisen or the Dragonborn.

I agree. We'd still be a total n00b and pretty much clueless, yet we have no choice but to get involved and stop this threat because we're the only one with the power/new ability to sort the mess out.
And chances are, if we're the "key" to stopping it then we'll have the option to sacrifice ourselves to stop the threat... since the key almost always has to die in order to end the problem. Of course, so long as it's only an option. I don't want another Shepard situation on my hands, LOL!

...but then, in a freak turn of events, never before seen in the DA franchise, the Inquisitor can have mystical, ritualistic sex, in the Halla stables, with Cullen in order to avoid both her own death and the destruction of the world. A hero's work is never done...LolaLei wrote...

That was so the perfect solution if you weren't dating Alistair.

I dunno. They're awfully similar. Both have the causeway and the waterfall on the lefthand side. Maybe they're supposed to be two different concept shots of the same castle? Just the details of the keep's layout changed along the way...?motomotogirl wrote...
Also, these are quite obviously two different castles.
That's what I was thinking, too. Hell of a thing to be inconsistent about. I mean there are major structural differences.
Unless the castle will end up as customisable?
"Hmm, I'm not feeling the Halla stables today. Cullen, remove the stables, and add four more bedrooms, please!"
But... but... Cullen the stable boy!!!!
In all seriousness, though -- that's definitely the same location, different castle designs (well spotted, mmg!)
So either a change in castle design on the devs' part or we get to customize. Sort of finishing what Awakening started. YAYYY!!!!
And I'd LOVE for that beast to be a halla, but it looks like either something we haven't seen before or a halla drawn poorly.

Me too, I love it when the hero was just in the wrong place at the wrong time so that it could've literally happened to anyone and then we rise to the challenge because we have no choice. Plus, it gives the protagonist a chance to b!tch about it if we want to.

My Dalish Warden protested until the very end. As soon as he killed the archdemon, he threw down his sword and was all, "Mahariel out." *stalks back to the Dales like a boss*
