Indeed, it makes sense that she would get on with her life. I was imagining that my Hawke had moved on to Anders, but had settled into a sorta unromantic, day to day steady relationship after he moved in. So, then the Fenris Isabela hook up brings it all back again and makes her re-examine her relationship with Anders. I had a Cullen joke in it that was my first inkling of my future obsession... LOL The rest, as they say, is history.LolaLei wrote...
I mean, Hawke wasn't to know that Fenris would come crawling back 3 or 4 years later. And if Fenris was leading him/her on with "I love you, but I can't be with you" rubbish then he/she should tell him to bugger off.

What would've been more interesting/realistic is if Fenris had either done a disappearing act for years (instead of Isabela) or if years later after Hawke had struck up a relationship with one of the other companions Fenris comes to her/him one evening declaring what a huge mistake he's made and how he always loved her/him AND THEN Hawke has to decide whether to stay with her/his new love interest, or take Fenris back.
Now THAT'S something I could get behind. Ample drama and angst, tough decision etc. What's not to like! Especially if Fenris showed up looking particularly handsome.
LOL Definitely angsty. I have a hard time imagining Fenris being the burst in and declare his love kinda guy, but that kind of trigger (another relationship) would have made more sense.LolaLei wrote...

Tbh, I could see Cullen pulling a stunt like that, if only because the writers would probably enjoy our fan tears LOL.
But at the same time, I kinda see him as the type of guy who would leave it until right before the eve of the final battle to finally declare his love and give in to the good stuff.
I suppose it would all depend on what his Good Reason was for ditching you in the first place. In Cullen's case, I could see Duty and Principle making him think he's not worthy. It would then be nice to see something raw and primal like jealousy finally make him get his head out of his ass. Heh heh.LolaLei wrote...

That's something that always annoys me in films/tv shows/books/games etc. If the other character cheats first or does something sh!tty, the protagonist (who may have later done something equally sh!tty) never gets to say "well, you done it to me first!" Or whatever when said character is trying to take the moral high ground with the protagonist.
I don't think anyone's bashing Fenris, though...motomotogirl wrote...

It's more an issue with the writing and how the three year gap in the relationship is pretty problematic.

Yeah there are lots of things regarding DA2 that could have been better written, but even with what little time and resources they had, the writers still did amazing work, and I'm grateful for a character and romance like Fenris.

Cullen jealous... now that would be intresting:devil:
LOL I don't think he ever leaves my party in any playthrough. He's like the center of my team... and I think I start out romancing him in every PT except for Sebastian romance (YESSS ! IT'S REAL!!! *lalalalala*).Danny Boy 7 wrote...

Fenris is awesome imo but I unfortunately don't use him that often. I kind of love his background and the whole competition for lyrium thing.
Yeah, it's for this reason that I was playing with the idea that your relationship with him could become like old married couple who start having sex less and less often, and he's all aboutLolaLei wrote...
It's like, Anders romance is boring as hell. Once you've got him in the sack then that's it, which is a shame since there was a lot of potential with his storyline and Justice.

I could see Cullen getting jealous quite easily if an npc or other companion is flirting, although I always kinda imagine that whilst he's trying to hide/fight his feelings for the protagonist his jealousness would accidentally slip out via biting comments, or dirty looks aimed at the npc/companion etc, followed by puppy eyes and longing looks towards the protagonist. But once he's actually with the protagonist he'd be full on "back off!" Towards anyone who tried their luck lol.
