Just looked at this. It was interesting to see an early concept of the Darkspawn. they were horrifying! Kinda wish they'd still looked like that.

THANK GOD They stuck with Fenris' current look! Love that adorable little elf to pieces, "anime" hair and all, LOL! I wish they'd stuck with Isabela's very Rivaini outfit instead of her skanky panty outfit lol A couple times this guy drew women in classic T&A poses, but I've always felt there was a bit of straight male gaze to the BW concept art. Not that they aren't ridiculously talented, and it's balanced out by the very feminist writing.

Isabela's influence was pretty fascinating! I love that the shoulder armor thingie is Rivaini, like Duncan's.

I've never really paid attention to the darkspawn redesign, TBH, but his reasoning for the changes seems pretty sensible.

The early Hawke design, with its golden chantry sun around the neck, seems very Inquisitor-like.

Fenris: His romance was a bit...deceptive. Had no idea he would be back. I also heard that him coming back may depend on which dialogue choice you choose when he's dumping you. I don't know?

(Kinda like the choice of dialogue after the whole Merrill/Marethari incident. Srsly, I felt tricked into wiping out the entire Dalish clan up there. All I did was say it was a tragedy...and bam! Why it would matter that sum Shem said she'd take responsibility for Merrill would=no attack, I don't get it. I really did not like that, at all. That wasn't a choice. That was a trick.)

Oh! and that one thread..wtf? NPC that stalks/verbally/physically abuses you? I saw that thread. I backed away slowly. I can understand the OP of that thread wanting a companion that they're never really sure of, but that can be done other ways. Without them beating my azz in the middle of the night somewhere. No, thank you.

Lol, it's only recently that I realised you could even save the Dalish clan by using the aggressive dialogue option.

That concept art is gorgeous. 9/10 I prefer the vision of the concept artist to what I saw in game. For both ME and DA.

I don't know how to feel about Merrill. Most of the time I think she's a freakin' idiot. Other times, I think she really needs someone on her side for once. It's so conflicting! And that aggressive option always makes me feel horrible, because Merrill isn't a monster. And I do agree that Blood Magic is just magic, and it depends on how you use it; however, her opinion about demons...no. Just...just no. Hopefully that has changed.

Fenris doesn't dump Hawke. They were never in a relationship... it was something that Fenris gave into, even though he felt it wasn't something he should do. Then he panics the morning after... aghghg he's so damaged, poor baby.

As long as you choose the heart icon, he will return... which makes sense. Obviously if you choose the broken heart option he will not come back LOL

You know when I read the romance guide beforehand (the only spoilers I allow myself), I kept hearing all this talk of Fenris leaving... so I thought you lost him as a companion altogether. Like, he flipped you the bird and skipped town, instead of just not being in a relationship with you. LOL

This is exactly why I assumed it was a no win scenario. At the very least I'd expect them to demand her head on a stick. I guess I figured she had enough people being mean to her. lol

Pretty much. And seeing his entire life flash before his eyes, and then have it all disappear must have been heartbreaking. So close yet so far.  Fenris had to come to terms with it all himself; making his own choices and moving past the pain is the price for being free.

Needless to say, my Hawke most certainly jumped Fenris' bones after he admitted his feelings.

The dialog option is also a bit...misleading. I freaked out when the elves started attacking us.

Me: WHOA what did I say?! HOLD ON! WAIT. NO. DON'T DO THAT! ****. ...I just slaughtered a bunch of elves. Crap. Okay, this can't get any worse...*travels down mountain and more elves attack* NOOOOO NOT THE ENTIRE CLAN! Ohhhh my Dalish Warden will be PIIIIIIISSSED. *looks at Merrill* YOU ARE IN SO MUCH TROUBLE WHEN WE GET BACK TO KIRKWALL.

There's a couple different ways to kill Arianni, actually. You can either send her on to Merrill's clan and kill her or you can drive her to suicide by making Feynriel tranquil.

It doesn't quite compare to the multitude of ways you can kill Gaspard Dupuis, but it's impressive.

It took me forever before I realized you could see Gaspard again after his initial quest. I wonder how many other tidbits I've still missed out on.

I didn't realise until recently and I ALWAYS forget to go visit him before trying to rescue Hawke's mother, so I've never seen any of the other ways you can kill him beyond that first time where you chase him around the mansion.

I bet there's loads of stuff I haven't seen.

Arianni. That's it. Yeah, I never make Feynreil tranquil. I mean, send him to the Circle cuz I know--he's a Dreamer?--Oh they're gonna brand him. It's a gamble, but I do feel he needs training. Real training. Idk.

Lol! Gaspard Dupewy. The only thing that threw me off abt him was the accent. I thought maybe he really was Ninette's brother. But after seeing the letters;blood magic stuff and the women's clothing...and the abducted mage.

Well, I always kill him.
