Just saw this post on tumblr that says we probably wont get a toolset for DA:I, pretty disappointing. Here's the source if anyone's interested.

http://himaintenancegirl.tumblr.com/

Hopefully modders will still find a way to work around it, like they did for DA2, but it definitely diminishes the amount of things we will be able to tweak.

Aw maaaaan. Hopefully we'll at least be able to mod some clothing and headswap characters still.

The one thing I really liked about mods for Origins were those that included added cutscenes, like the Alistair/NobleWarden wedding or the Cullen hidden romance scene for female mages. Unfortunately it's unlikely that they'll be able to do that w/ Inquisition w/out a toolset, but hopefully the game is already fantastic enough that I wont feel the need for it!

Yeah, I loved that fans could add in the scenes that the devs didn't have time to do themselves. It's such a shame, the scenes you could make on this new engine would be amazing!

i think Cameron said that to make a toolkit would be more complicated for the modders since is a new engine and all and its more complex then what they had before

yeah, Cam addressed that in the PAXAus panel. Too bad although it sounds like they haven't totally closed the door on the idea.

Considering Dragon Age 2 is two and a half years old, I never understood why they could not release a toolset for it now.

The Dragon Age Dance mods were hysterical!:wizard::wizard:

I wanted a Dragon Age 2 Dance mod. :wizard:  Think of how fun it would have been to see the Dragon Age 2 characters dancing like the Origins characters did.  Can you imagine how fun it would have been to do a dancing Cullen video?? :o:O

Maybe they will one day. It's the same engine as DA:O isn't it? So it's plausible that they could.

LOL! Knowing my luck that's exactly what will happen! Hopefully I can get the rest of it finished tomorrow, then I can release it on Monday.

They should. People can mod without it but dance mod needs it. I think I will ask the modder who did the ones for Origins if that toolset could be used since it is similar.

Wouldnt you love a DA2 version of this??? :wizard:

LMAO but for those kind of dances u have to make custom animations in a 3d program such as 3ds max or maya and then inport them into the toolset

What would you ladies do if BioWare decided to kill Cullen in DA:I? I can see it now. Angry women all around, holding up cardboard signs picketing the headquarters. Screaming to the makers why they decided to kill this baby faced Templar.

Sadly I kind of expect for them to do such a thing but at the end of the day its BW's game and they will do whatever they see will fit right for the storyline, as I said before  they cant please everyone , but if they decide to make something like Anders where you can choose weather u want to kill him or not  then I would be happy because personally I would not kill him :)

Pretty much what ag99 said. If it's right for the storyline and they do his death justice then so be it. Of course, I'd prefer to have the option to save him, but at the end of the day it's up to the writers/devs what they feel benefits the game.

Sorry to disappoint.

I will drop to the ground and cry out to the Video Game Gods asking why they must punish me so. Then I will proceed to burn my house and all surrounding buildings to the ground in a fit of pure nerd rage.

Does that answer please you?

Have the same ammount of feels I had when Thane and Mordin died, and even when Daveth and Jory died... and when I decided to kill off EDI and all my Geth homies, because I was gunning to kill the Reapers from the get go. Sorry to disappoint and reveal that the majority of the Cullen fans are as normal as any other non-lunatic fan. o:

(Well, I sorta felt sorry for Kai Leng when I killed his arse too, but I have TROY BAKER bias.  )

We have gents, too. Please be fair and include them in future "what ifs" conversations!  Image IPB

Bioware needs to do what's right for the character. If we're practicing blood magic, Cullen will probably respond with violence. If we're attacking the Divine, Cullen will probably respond with violence.

And ultimately, the writers are the only people who really get to decide what Cullen would do (having just said all that...), so we don't really get to bellyache about what that means in the end.

Right now, we're just a small community of DA fans who appreciate where the character has gone so far. Some whining may happen and not everyone will be happy with where he goes in the future, but we recognize that he's Bioware's property and not ours. Like Dirgegun said, sorry if that disappoints you.  Image IPB

Pretty much this. Same thing happened with the people who supported Joker and/or wanted him as a romance. After the disappointment we whined to each other for a bit, but then we moved on with the game. I can say we are still a little miffed, but it's a passing comment now. *shrug* I'm just glad he was in the game, as well as put in the CItadel DLC so we can spend some time with our favorite pilot. In the end, that was enough. ^_^

Cullen's story is not up to us. It's the writers at BioWare who have that power. So far they have done an excellent job telling the templar's story, and we hope they continue it. If he's a companion, that is a HUGE bonus! As a romance? We'd go nuts. But at this point we're just hoping Cullen makes an appearance.
