Since we're not really talking about anything (yet) I thought it'd be a good moment to mention I'll be working on a comic with a friend from work. I'll be writing it while she'll be doing the art. So I'm excited.

Danny, that's so awesome!!  Looking forward!

That's awesome Danny! Will your comic be Dragon Age related or something just for fun?

My own world, though it draws inspiration from Dragon Age,  Dragonlance, LotR and a few other worlds. The most notable thing would be mage towers, but it leans towards dragonlance more rhan DA.

Was snooping through your thread, I apologize. :whistle:Sorry to be off topic, but:

Gosh, it's not snooping! The more the merrier, Chiantirose, so stay a while! Like Lola mentioned we're not exactly All Cullen, All the Time (or at least not until we learn something new...). We're more Dragon Age with a strong hint of Cullen.

Oh I'm here, just lurking. Catching up a bit and figuring out what has been discussed to death, heh. And I'm never bothered by Cullen

LOL Lovely to hear! And, even if something's been discussed to death (which is really probably everything at this point), new perspectives always bring new discussions.

For example, as a native German speaker and Dragon Age expert (which my German husband is not, bless him), do you have any thoughts on the German version of that FB post/tweet about the castle concept art...?

Ah, thank the  Maker it's not just me! Grr....

Altho, ironically, it just speeded up this very moment...  Hmm.

Anyway, I keep hoping to see a random BSN glitch, and then suddenly get a notice that the new BW forums will be unveiled. LOL

Right, I was just looking for the original, I have it on my Facebook page as well.

I'm not sure, are they talking about a female? Cause that's what it sound to me. You don't really use "Sie" in German unless you're talking about a female or you adressing someone in formal speech.

I can't find the english counterpiece to this though, so I really have no clue what they're talking about.  It would seem they're talking about something female and not about a castle or something ... at least that is my first impresion.

*edit*

"It wasn't hidden, it was uncontrolled. Like the power you now command."

Okay, so I don't think that the Inquiistor will be some superhero, so when they talk about "power" I think they're talking about your armies, companions maybe?

About what is hidden, it could be the castle, but why would someone worry about a castle unless there was something special in there, like treasure or some super weapon? I dont know hehe

OK, yeah, my husband also thought using Sie was weird. You know what... as a non-German-speaker... to me that sounds like a mistake a non-German speaker would make. Like, if I were writing that sentence in Spanish, and the word for castle were feminine, then I could use the feminine pronoun there (altho I wouldn't for other reasons...), my point being that I could easily see myself pushing that rule onto German. So, sounds like that's an awkward construction in German, then. Then, I still vote for non-German speaker translating it... which probably means any differences tell us exactly nothing! LOL Ah well. Thanks!!

Its doing the same for me lol.

Her working name is Solonia though it may change before the first issue. In my world the elves have mostly retreated into their ancestral forests due to a cataclysm that caused the fall of their empire.

Since then they've divided into three (really four though that's a different story) kingdoms spread across the country/continent.

Prior to the fall there was a caste system that divided the elves into the priests, noble/political,  craftsmen and warrior castes. As can be expected this is how they've divided themselves since the break up.

Autumn Court: Craftsmen: The most anti-human of the groups. They are a reclusive bunch known for being the most volatile to outsiders as well as developing the Avatars (human name for the group), a small group of warriors with a connection to the spirits (low level deities) who are able to channel their power. They have been connected in the past with raiding human villages though that is in the past. Their artwork is priced high in the human kingdom of Mirynum.

Winter Court: Warriors: Pro-human all the way the Winter Court is the only elven kingdom with human villages living within their borders. They live far south and are renown for their famous body guards, the Watchmen. These warriors are put through a ritual that imprints them with the abilities of their order. The elves of the Winter Court believe theu were created to serve and often treat themselves as m property, but not as slaves. They have a friendly relationship with the southern humans.

Summer Court: Nobles/Politicians: These guys are the stereotypical elves. They fancy the bow, live in the forests with their homes built around nature and give of an aire of serenity.  Unfortunately they have something of a superiority complex compounded  by a somewhat unhealthy adherence to tradition. They choose their council members (the three elves that rule over each elven court. Nine in total) via a lot of political back stabbing and by determining "purity" levels. They have been at the head of the attempts to reunite the elves.

Spring Court: Priests: Extinct

Solonia is a member of the Summer Guard, the secret service of the Summer Court, and something of a elven battlemaster (she has been trained by an Avatar and Watchman as well as others.), but when her charge is murdered (a member of the council)  she is banished to the dark continent across the sea. She was saved from execution due to her familial connections.

At the moment she travels around as something of a ronin.

Could the castle simply be referred to as "she"? The same way ships, planes, etc. are given feminine pronouns.

I just find it hard to believe that they don't have a staffer who is fluid in German updating the German twitter and FB pages.

According to Chantirose, no. But I agree, it's odd.

Old Gods... maybe the elves' gods?
