I'm trying to explain it, but I apologize if I make no sense. A castle has a no gender pronoun.
"Das Schloss" = The Castle
If you're using it in a sentence however without the name (castle, fortress) you use "Es"
So, if you would say the "castle is hidden", you'd say "Das Schloss is versteckt" but if you want to say that it's hidden without using the word castle, fortress, you're saying "Es ist versteckt"
For a objects you mostly use "es", if you refer to it without the name.
I'm sorry, german is so hard to explain and my english isn't flawless either
*Edit*
Nevermind, if you use the word "Burg" everything I just said goes out the window. It's "Die Burg" and if you want to say that it's hidden, you would say "Sie ist versteckt". Honestly, thats embarassing.
It made sense until that last editMost objects take the neuter pronoun in English, too; I don't think we have any that take a gendered pronoun (like your "Burg").
What I was talking about though, is how sometimes in English a person may refer to a ship or car, for example, as female. "She's a beauty, isn't she?" or "Thar she blows!" (Okay, bad example, haha) Even though normally in English you would say: "The ship was sinking." or "It was sinking." BUT you could say... "The Titanic was a beautiful ship; nevertheless, that didn't keep her from sinking into the ocean."
I don't think I've ever heard someone assign the feminine gender to a building or structure though. But I suppose it could be done with a castle??
It just seems like you would have to be a real idiot (or know very little German) to accidentally use the feminine pronoun. I mean only very, very basic ESL students write stuff like "The girl put on its dress" or "The ball bounced when he hit the ground."

Here this explains German nouns better, than I ever could.

Dragon Age: "We'll have more info about that coming up in the near future."
Near future sounds promising.

It sounds promising but the "near future" can also be sometime next year...
I started to hate that phrase lately lol

I'm honestly not that worried about import at all. I mean it never was working perfect anyway, lol.
I'm intrigued to see how they'll import saves from current gen to next gen (if at all).

I'm thinking they'll just make a comic/checklist thing ala ME. That would be the easiest and most efficient, I think. What else could they do? Maybe use the cloudsave thingy? I never used that before.

Chianti -I'm not all that concerned with imports either. For me, DA2 was kinda like "Soooo.... this happened". I'll put more thought into my choices in the next game.LolaLei wrote...

But like Lola, I am curious to see how they handle the imports. The only real issues would be on who you decided to kill off or not, right? The rest of it was pretty much streamlined down to singular conclusions.

Or something like that Gib-save editor thingy that the nexus modders made to fix the import bugs. Check list does sound ideal. Like, maybe we import over our saves, and then get the option to edit anything that hasn't imported over correctly.

I love the combined approach idea! I liked the ME comic thing since it put the choices in a little bit of context., and I'd never played ME1. The gibbed save editor thingie was a little too streamlined for me. I mean, I played DA:O several times but I wasn't exactly sure what it meant by some of the questions... Importing your save and confirming/editing the import choices would be ideal. Like, NO, DAMMIT, I REINFORCED FREAKING VIGIL'S KEEP!! NATE IS ALIVE! ALIVE I TELL YOU!LolaLei wrote...

Agree... Honestly, my world state isn't that important to me. Like, I was so torn on Bhelan/Harrowmont that I'm not wedded to either as ruler, so I wouldn't care if the Powers That Be just decreed one as canon (I know other folks feel vehemently otherwise...). I would like it to recognize who my character was and did (and companion deaths and the like)... but beyond that, I'm cool.meanieweenie wrote...

edit: which I realize sounds a bit schizophrenic! I suppose everyone has their own specific choices that are important to them.

I honestly see every DA as a stand alone game and expect nothing to really carry over, if it does, hey thats awesome, but I have a new protagonist, probably new companions and a new story line. Unless choices I made in the other games have HUGE impact, I don't really care.
