I really want a great storyline with a few plot twists. I'm very excited to see what decisions we have to make and how it will affect the world around us. I also can't wait to see new and even old character's and how they turn out. And of course, Cullen being a love interest. Make that **** happen Bioware. And that reminds me, I really hope Bioware doesn't make whiny romance interest's like they did in Dragon age 2. I felt that the love interest's were so self-centered and never bothered to ask Hawke anything other than favors. I also want to know how to the protagonist turns out. His/her background, and what we can make of him/her. There's also the little things such as character creation and how it is especially with the new frostbite 3 engine, combat, and armor. I'm very fond of armor and how it looks.LolaLei wrote...
So, out of curiosity, what are you guys looking forward to the most about this new game?
I know obviously we know next to nothing about it so far, but what are your expectations, hopes etc when it finally comes to playing?

There was an interesting post on the FB Alistair group from a fan who spoke to one of the DA devs at comic con. The dev told her that Jennifer Hepler was so into writing Anders that she was constantly jotting down notes to herself. Apparently she'd come into work with all these napkins and receipts with notes to compile. LOL Cute story.
Is it just me or does this story make the whole backlash/death threats all the more tragic.:crying: But, yeah, I see what you mean.
She put so much into his character and all she got was ctap.
Well, she got crap for something unrelated to Anders though, didn't she? But yeah, it's definitely sad and completely out of order how people treated her.
What I also find kinda sad is that she obviously put a lot of effort into Anders story, but because the game had to be rushed out the door in a year probably half the stuff she wrote got completely cut out. It's a shame.
I think it was that in an interview shw mentioned she didn't like fighting in games, but don't take my word for it.

Like Aveline said, "I know sacrifice, but I will not be a sacrifice."
Sometimes things happen and well, sometimes you....end up having to give your life. But in general, psssh. I believe in clawing your way outta the darkness and rubble, or die trying. (Like Bakara in ME3 w/that crystal and shaman initiation she went thru........gasp.....the crystal that she gave to Shep....gasp...that's my new headcanon for high ems Destroy. Shep used that crystal much like Bakara. ...uh, anyway.)
I've never been a fan of martyrdom. And I've had abt enuf of it in vid games.

"..the largest city in the Free Marches, sits on the bank of the great Minanter River. I remember my visit to the city quite clearly. I was taken up the river by barge—a cumbersome vessel that moved at a stately pace—and disembarked by the city's central square, an impressive space with marble fountains and surrounded by kingly estates.
Starkhaven's wealth was truly a sight to behold. A path paved in granite led up to the grandest building I've ever seen. My guide indicated that this was the residence of Starkhaven's ruler, Prince Vael.
We supped at the table of my guide's closest friend. I was presented with a variety of dishes from the region. One in particular stood out: fish and egg pie, Starkhaven's most famous dish. Three deboned fish, caught just that day, were cooked in a porcelain vessel with boiled eggs, dried fruit, spices, and thickened cream, all topped with a light crust. Superb!

I would also luv to see Bro. Genitivi, although idk if he would still be alive. He wasn't that old in DAO. And it's only been 10years...give , or take. It could happen?

However, "Night Terrors" is rife with Rivalry points for Merrill unless you plan to be buddy-buddy with demons. Anders is my go-to mage for that quest.

I understood the one I got when I refused to deal with the sloth demon, but I do not understand the ones I get just for taking her there. She says she wants to go.

First, what did you say you intended to do with Feynriel? If you said you will make him Tranquil if necessary, that will net Rivalry points.
Similarly, most of the responses you can give when she is tempted by the demon will net Rivalry points.

Ahh okay. Yeah I said I'll make him tranquil if necessary. Thanks!

Yeah, I'd hate to go through another ME3 ending fiasco. I really don't see what the problem is with giving us the option to come through alive lol.
I'm not gonna lie, with something as big as this veil rip I'm worried that our protagonist will have to chuck him/herself inside or whatever to end the problem.
Like maybe he/she will have to go into the Fade close it and either we or one of the companions has to sacrifice themselves to get it closed whilst the others escape... kinda like in Jade Empire when Sagacious Zu stays behind to fight as the Lotus Assassins fortress crumbles to give us time to get out alive.

The thing I'm looking forward to the most (beyond finding out how our ex-companions/characters are getting on) is creating my first ever protagonist and taking our first steps into this new story with a brand new engine.
I think now that I'm familiar with the way DA games work, and now being completely clued up in regards to DA:O and DA2, I'm going to enjoy this new game even more because I now know that I should take my time with the game, pay attention to everything and explore, investigate and ask all the questions etc. I tend to rush through the first playthroughs of any BioWare game because I always want to know what happens next, but this time round I'm looking forward to taking my time, investigating and exploring eveything at a steady pace because the first time with fresh eyes is always the best.
I'm hoping I don't miss one of the optional companions like Leliana or Fenris....I didn't before, but I don't want to now.
Yeah, I missed Leliana the first time around in DA:O and Isabela in DA2. But I wasn't part of the forums then, so I knew nothing about the companions or who to look for. Now I know what to expect, I'll make sure I investigate everywhere so that I don't miss any of them.

I would like a "happy ending" as well. My idea of a happy ending in such events is like the end of Mockingjay. It's not overwhelmingly happy, there is a touch of bitterness, but there is closure and you can see that everything will eventually work out okay. After the EC in ME3 and adding in extra War Assets it made the "gasp" scene a little easier for me. Not happy, but hopeful - especially when your love interest looks at Shepard's name plate, and then looks up at the sky with a slight smile as if to say: "I know you're alive. I will find you." You can easily headcanon what happens. With the vanilla endings, you could only get the "gasp" scence if you played MP to get your War Assets up. That is what pissed me off the most, because I could not afford Xbox Gold. <_<
Anyway, I shall end that rant and continue with Lola's original question:
I'm looking forward to the new story the most, and I admit, the graphics as well. I can't wait to see how everything looks, including my new protagonist. I would like to know how all the DA2 and maybe eve DAO characters are doing, even if it's just a word-of-mouth thing. ...I don't want to see them in a body bag. XD
And Cullen. I think we all agree on that. XD

yeah, i confess this fear has been dancing around the back of my mind w/this game. the sheer magnitude of situation.
and if we do have to chuck ourselves inside, i hope we can fight/find our way out. i'd much rather live to tell the tale w/a twinkle in my eye and a drink in my hand. lol!
i also hope they don't cut the ending off abruptly. i really hope there is a good wind down and wrapping things up kinda ending. sum afterglow, if you will. not a hit it and quit it ending. that always sucks...and not in the good way.

I doubt it's going to be easy. From the way the devs were talking at all these expos it sounds like we'll have some really difficult decisions to make, DG even mentioned betrayal at some point too.
They've got all the ME3 feels to go up against, with the companions and the situations that occured in that game, so it's gonna be a heart breaker for sure.
