I kid, I kid. I keep Anders alive so that the full implications of his actions can sink in, but I understand why a lot of people feel the need to do otherwise.
I confess to great curiosity about what was actually said, but I'll live if I don't get it. Everything gets distorted over the internet and the most innocuous things become unforgivable insults with surprising frequency. And then again, everybody has an off day. Without knowing the details... and I'm totally not prying and I mean that sincerely... I'd like to think that the guy was just trying to be clever rather than consciously being a dick.
Honestly, it's not even worth mentioning. I was probably over reacting anyway knowing me.
It shall not be mentioned by me again. My bad. Sometimes I don't think before I "speak". It's one of my super powers.
I've just been off browsing here and.... totally of topic.... did you know there was supposed to be a Mass Effect movie in the works? http://www.imdb.com/...482455/combined
There's also another slot for a Dragon Age movie in 2012. I wonder if it's a double entry for Dawn of the Seeker but it appears separate. It's also listed as produced by FUNimation - same as Mass Effect - Paragon Lost. While the ME title says 'filming', the DA lists it as ' pre-production'. Only one cast memeber as 'Elrin'. I love having access to IMDBPro!
Anyone else have some light to shed?

Evening everyone! Wow, such news! Thanks for sharing Lola. Lots of food for thought, even if every thought is circular and meaningless for me given the few details.
"Lot's of speculation for everyone!" LOL!
But you're welcome, I know that the "Sprint Review Day" hashtag Tweets are supposed to be obscure but some of them give us a couple of possible concepts they've got for the game.

Mark Darrah did the last ones but I think he's on holiday or something so Mike Laidlaw done todays ones. I think maybe it's a new thing, since they started asking the forum questions. Most of it is just them laughing at each other saying stupid things, but sometimes you can find the odd bit of useful information.
*Edit* I'm pretty sure they're close to announcing/showing us something beyond just concept art though.

What do you think of the possibility that they might add multi-player to DA3, like they did with ME3.
Part of me kinda likes the idea of slaughtering bad guys with swords and staffs with friends online, but at the same time I worry that adding something like multi-player to DA3 will take resources and time away from the main game resulting in another rushed game like DA2 or a bunch of non-sensical endings and shallow characters.

It wouldn't matter to me, since I don't do multiplayer. I couldn't anyway, since I come from a country where the Internet is expensive as balls and is mostly limited to a certain amount every month before it cuts out, and you have to wait for it to fill up again.
New Zealand sucks sometimes. Still though, there's no place like home ;-)
I'm also one of the people who are firmly against a Mass Effect movie. Well, one staring Shepard. Mostly because I feel adding Shepard into a movie would alientnate fans. Bioware have gone of record saying that if they were going to add Shepard in, it would be a he, and he would look like the deault John Shepard.
What about those like me who prefer Femshep? What about those who make Shepard Black? Asian? Hispanic? Better still, what about those who prefer to play him liking men? Having Shepard in the movie would be a really bad move on their part. Leave Shepard up to the imagination of fans.
A better idea for a Mass Effect movie, I think, would be about humans finding the Protheon ruins on Mars. I've always been curious about that. We've never seen them in the game, not even when we went to Mars in the third game. The First Contact War wouln't be a bad topic to tackle either.
Oh, and the same goes for Dragon Age, as well. The trailers don't count, because they aren't canon. I wouldn't mind it if they gave the female protagonist her own trailer as well. They did so for Femshep in Mass Effect, and look at how well that was well recieved? It would be a smart marketing move on their part.

Alot of people aren't keen on his eyes being so... bright but I really like them, it makes him stand out from the other NPC's... well, that and the fact he's probably one of the only ridiculously attractive characters in the whole game.

So, I am just laughing. I'm finally finishing up that fic you guys inspired me to write last week about Cullen having a long standing mistress, and I'm just editing and twitching at this point. Sometimes when I get stuck on a common phrase that doesn't sound quite right, I'll just google it to jog my memory ( in this case "someone as unworthy as him" vs. "someone as unworthy as he"). Invariably, the correct phrasing will pop up in a number of actual published books, but the wrong phrase will also come up -- primarily in fanfiction! LMAO Ah, fanfiction... :shakes head:
Oooo awesome, I can't wait to read that one!

The Dragon Age movies haven't moved me particularly. Dawn of the Seeker was entertaining, but it didn't tell me anything I didn't already know and it made Orlais look really wash out and uninteresting. I'd love it if they one about Cullen and what he's upto now that Kirkwall and the Circles have gone to ****. Perhaps leading up to how he came to Orlais or something... so long as they don't do what they did with Cassandra and give him a temporary side kick who he develops feeling for or visa versa, because then it kinda ruins the idea that the new protagonist would be the first woman he's genuinely cared for since our Warden.

Yeah, resource wise, I'd say worry just about single player. But, I suppose multiplayer could be cool. Not familiar at all with how ME3 did it, but played a little with NWN. Mostly privately developed content, though, since I don't think the main game was multiplayer (memory fails...).LolaLei wrote...

I do wonder how the essentially single player story could be done with friends, given how PC-centric the DA storytelling has been up til now. Plus, given all the gripes about DA2's lack of overarching story, I imagine the new game will be much more of an epic hero's journey, which seems to lend itself even less to multiplayer. But then... if ME3 could do it with Shep...
Anyway, I doubt I'd use multiplayer if they developed it for DA3 anyway.

In ME3 it was kinda like your typical shooter in space. Waves of enemies would come and you'd have to try and stay alive whilst completing objectives before the time ran out or you both died, so I guess DA3 would be like that but with swords, staffs and murder knives LOL.
I'm hoping they don't, and if they do then it'll be something that is added on by DLC rather than coming installed onto the game already.

Yeah, I'd probably file this one under "leave well enough alone" and focus on a kickass single player story. I mean, that doesn't sound like real Mass Effect anyway, since none of you can really be Shep, right? So, it sounds more like a companion adventure to the main one... is that right? In that case, yeah, add-on material seems pretty low priority to me.LolaLei wrote...

Ah but it's still interesting to see what we percieve his reasons for doing certain things are (in this case having a mistress) and how he would behave based on the little we know about him.
Y'know it's kinda crazy when you think about it, Cullen over the course of 2 games probably gets about 30 minutes air time tops, yet our little thread (that should have died by now given that he's just an NPC) has not only survived, but surpassed all the other NPC threads and a lot of the companion threads. We're also consistently in the top 3 character threads within this part of the forum... it's impressive. If that doesn't tell DG 'n' co something then I dunno what would!

You don't even get to play as Shep or any of the companions, instead you get to pick from various races and then pick their class within that (like solider, inflitrator, biotic etc.)

LOL don't give them ideas!
I do wonder who they've picked for companions (if they've picked anyone from the previous 2 games), a lot of people seem to think Charade will be a companion, but I can't see that happening if we're getting Cassandra as well (and probably Tallis, since the boys like her and DG 'n' co are friends with Felicia Day.)

Most importantly, though, I wouldn't want the single-player game to suffer. Most of the time, when I play, I do it by myself. I wouldn't want the best outcome to be reserved for those with the most online friends, because I tend to be a very private person and don't do social networking, as a rule.
