OK, that's an owl. I was pretty sure at least one of the pics you posted was a Tevinter eagle with its head lopped off.

As for Cullen being "old," so are most of the people that fans are pegging for LIs for this game, including myself. Maybe, just maybe, we won't be running a 20 year old protagonist, so the age difference will be nil. Anybody think of that? I'm not sure I want to think about somebody adventuring at my present age of 46... but you know, I don't think it would be impossible.

File it under "Not dead yet!"

LOL Actually,  this is the identical picture to what I posted before (the top one below). Just higher res. The other owls are even clearer from Cass's underground lair.

Well, the Taint might be a factor, but Senior Grey Wardens tend to be anywhere from 40-60 and they're still able to crack skulls with the best of them. And in the real world, the Romans used to keep people in military service for periods of either 10 to 25 years, with many long-term professional soldiers staying even longer.

Given that most of the things found in Thedas would more than require any adventurer to keep well trained, well excercised and be very determined, I don't see why it'd be unfeasable to perhaps add an older companion and LI into the mix?

Either way, Cullen certainly isn't too old, that's for sure.

I wonder if that pointy circle could be used as a brass knuckle for warriors, or even a dagger type of thing for rogues?

Okay, I won't ask if there's anything new this time... Wow..! I was just gonna pop in and apologize for disappearing earlier (my laptop had an unfortunate accident, and then I went on vacation), but this is awesome!!

Wow.. I mean, wow! And more info is coming, right?

Bioware, you bloody trolls!! Posted Image I'm sad I missed all the squeeing and flailing around, BUT we have most of our squeeing/flailing left to do in this thread so I should be good. Posted Image

Hiya, guys! I really missed you, and my attempt to leave DA alone for a few months resulted in me now owning world of thedas, the calling, the stolen throne and asunder. Posted Image I think I'll just give in to the crazy...

Yea, it was completely out of left field and couldn't possibly be more wonderful. Like surprise Christmas...with dragons. According to the GI page for Dragon Age, they will be revealing something DA:I related every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday for the whole month. So Friday is our next update, though I think it might just be further clarification on the things they've already revealed (more info on mounts, multiple race origins, etc) Either way, I am super excited.

Are we allowed to post images from the Game Informer vids? I know for sure we aren't for any screencaps of the articles from digital subscribers, but the videos and interviews are all for public viewing. I figure it wouldn't break any rules to post anything from them right?

Hey Nikki! Hehe, surprise christmas with dragons.. Yeah, that sums it up really well.

I think you're right, we've probably seen the bulk of it already, but it's still a whole month filled with goodies at a time when we REALLY needed some good news for the DA fandom.

Another nice commentary from vieralynn on Cullen's relative romanceability... a whole decade after DA:O.

http://vieralynn.tum...ve-cullen-but-i

Good god... I'm totally headdesk-ing all over the place with her. I had no idea being in my 30s meant I was "past all that" (whatever the fook that means). And the idea that Cullen is "the most unintentionally heterosexual character in the game." Spoken like a person who is likely surrounded by gay and bi people in her life and has no idea because she automatically assumes they're all straight.

LOL I thought y'all might appreciate. Poor OLD Cullen. Heart all shriveled up. Shilling for viagra along with his lyrium...

It does make me wonder at this kind of backlash the game might receive if  he is romanceable. I mean, we've heard all these things before. "Amell is his only love!" "But... Cullen/Cassandra will be SO OLD!" "But Cullen wasn't interested in the male Warden... therefore he must be hetero!" Batten down the hatches!

My favorite was about how many people used to say "but Kaidan doesn't LOOK gay!"

Then the internet finds his face model and turns out he's gay.

I don't think I understand why people even care about the sexuality of their companions..? I mean, I get that people have their preference when it comes to a system and that's fine. But how is it a big deal? I could get it if all the LI's were gay or straight, that would be bad, but now it just comes across as "I don't want to hang out with gay/bi people" and that's just sad.

Realism, sure, but this is a game. We don't have bowstrings, we can carry 12 shields in our pack while in combat, we can't cross a bloody puddle. Why is sexuality such a big deal?

Agreed. I especially don't see the problem with making characters bi so they can be romanced by which ever gender the player wants. That way nobody has to miss out on content simply because of the chosen gender of their character.

Also in DA2 if you were a female in a relationship with say Fenris or Anders there were no references in that playthrough (atleast I can't remember any) to them liking men aswell. So in a sence the characters were interested in the gender that the player chose them to be interested in. That way if the player was bothered by things such as homosexuality he could easily pretend that Fenris and Anders were stricktly heterosexual by playing the game in that way. But I suppose for some people it's enough to know that the possibility is there for them to feel uncomfortable.

It's a touchy subject to say the least and no matter how they deal with it someone will get mad/ disappointed. Pleasing everyone is hard and in this aspect I can't say I envy the people working on the game.

For me it wasn't really anything to do with the character's orientation or if they had the eyes for me. I just sort of liked the exclusivity that Morrigan gave me. Than I wondered if I would be upset if I was on the...I guess wrong side of the fence, but I actually thoroughly enjoyed being rejected by Traynor because it made my hero just anlittle bit more human.

In the end however unless we can afford an equal amount of romances for each orientation than I need to understand that the only fair thing to do is have all the romances available and that rejection is a secondary feature to these romanced. And honestly with all things said amd done I'm okay with that.

I have to agree about the Morrigan romance in some ways. She is propably my favorite romance in DAO even before Alistair (and I'm a straight female player). I loved how the whole romance tied in with the plot too. I suppose the more specific a romance is the more "real" it tends to feel and the romances in DA2 didn't feel quite so deep somehow as the ones in DAO (for me atleast). Although I think a lot of that had to do with not being able to talk to your LI whenever you wanted. But they've changed that for the upcoming game I think?

Also my renegade Shep getting turned down by Traynor was great :P

Interestingly enough, the pointy circle is actually a Chantry symbol. You see it on almost every Chantry building in DA:O as well as on the Chantry robes. Coincidence...? Of course, we know the Inquisition isn't aligned with the Chantry, but the original Inquisition were devout Andrastians. Maybe it's an ancient Inquisition base... renovated...?

It's on top of both Redcliff chantry and Haven Chantry.

and sorta inside the Redcliffe chantry, in the structure of the support beams (?)

OH, and Amaranthine chantry, above the door.

 All that info! <3

And man, I'm all over older guys. So all the people whinging about the thirty year olds and such can talk for themselves, while I say bring 'em on! I'd be completely okay romancing a thrity-something Cullen with a possibly twenty or twnty-something protagonist too.

Omg, if I have to explain in one more ****ing comment that Morrigan's child IS NOT the ****ing big bad then I'm going to go on a murder spree. Literally, there this one dude who will not let go of the idea, despite the fact that he's been shown proof that the devs and writers have already confirmed that the ****ing kid isn't ****ing canon and thus it's impossible for him to be the bad guy.

****ing idiot.

So, out of curiosity, who are we thinking will be romanceable out of the female companions? According to that picture R2 screen capped it looked like we had Cassandra, Vivienne, Scribe girl and Sera. Usually we only have like 2 female romance options don't we? (Tallis doesn't really count).

I'm going to guess Sera will probably be a definite, so players have a female elf to romance, and.... it's a toss up between Cassandra and Vivienne. I'm leaning towards Cassandra more than Vivienne, though. Unless the romance options are Vivienne and Cassandra and no elves for the dudes/dudettes that want to romance a dudette.

(I have no idea about scribe girl, the poor thing.)
