I thought the Cullenites would get a kick out of this. Scent of a Warden has a Cullen scent... and here's someone's description of it.

I'm amazed at just how much information they've given us, and so soon as well! I thought we'd maybe just get a little about the protagonist and then we'd have to wait another 6 months for something else.
I guess they did promise to leave no room for speculation, lol.
Well i guess after this month we might have to wait quite a bit for more info to come out so for right now im just enjoying being spoild with new info

Wow, there's a hell of a lineup for you. The only one who sounds even remotely attractive is Cassandra. There's still hope for Scribe girl, but Vivienne and Sera... Hmm... How do I put this? Do. Not. Want.LolaLei wrote...
So, out of curiosity, who are we thinking will be romanceable out of the female companions? According to that picture R2 screen capped it looked like we had Cassandra, Vivienne, Scribe girl and Sera. Usually we only have like 2 female romance options don't we? (Tallis doesn't really count).
Cassandra has anger management issues and I've got a feeling that her obsession with stabbing paper products is going to get old fast, but she's generally a good person and once she warms up (or thaws out), she's generally pretty affable. She doesn't set my world on fire, but I can see why people would like her.
Vivienne has been described as insufferable and demanding. Viconia's arrogance + Nalia's sense of entitlement + Leliana's obsession with fashion = Rage. Yes, I suppose making the leader of the mage faction unlikable is one way to discourage people from becoming too avid mage supporters, but... ugh. I know, we haven't heard much at all about her, but is it really a good idea to show the ugly side first?
Sera... a brat through and through. Plus, the survey description paints her as a manipulator, and a self-serving one at that. Wonderful. Again, was this the most positive thing that could be said about her? Who thought this was a good idea?
Tastes vary, and it's possible those two aren't as ghastly as they seem at first blush, but I'm not getting my hopes up about liking the women of this game. DA2 was a miracle. Never in my decade-long obsession with video gaming have I liked every single female in the party, but I did in DA2. One was more endearing than the next, and together, they were beyond awesome. It was really too much to hope that DAI would follow suit, but this is pushing it too far in the other direction. I'm kinda disappointed. Having 3 lovable ladies in the DA2 cast made for a really fun game.
Cullen, my dear, you're a complex character with an interesting backstory and a lot of potential, but I might be sitting this one out after all.
We don't know anything about Grey Warden Dude or Dorian. Maybe they'll be sex-onna-stick and that will make up for deficiencies in the female half of the cast.

I'm not bothered about their personalities or which ones will or won't be romanceable, chances are I'll end up growing attached to all the companions, even the moody/bratty ones lol.
I'm just concerned that if we do have more romantic options, will they all feel shallow due to the sheer amount of them taking up extra resources.

Really? Sure she can be a bit aggresive when she is serious, but I don't think she has anger management issues
She is just the fiery type...... A fiery vixen!

The thing with romances is that they should leave you wanting more. Every bit of additional interaction makes you feel closer to the character, and your concern for that character's welfare adds to the enjoyment of the game. With the women we've "met" so far, I feel as if I already know more about them than I want to. It doesn't matter how shallow or deep the romance is because I've got no interest in playing it.
I'm thinking that maybe they're going to try upping the number of romances to 6 - 2/2/2. They do have an extra year to work on it. Whatever the number they include, I don't think they're going to increase the number if it means sacrificing quality. That isn't really something they do. Even in DA2, the romances weren't disproportionately reduced. Yeah, it felt as if there wasn't as much content as there was in DA:O, but the same could be said for every element of the game, not just the romances. They said they were trying to make DAI an example of excellence, so it's likely they'll treat the romances to the same degree of polish. I just wish they'd chosen more endearing characters to lavish that kind of attention on.

At the present, I'm fantasizing about a toolset and the possibilities of adding a non-joinable NPC to the protagonist's base. I know that it isn't going to happen for a number of reasons, but a person can dream, right?

I know this will probably be poor consolation, but Aveline's description pre-DAII sounded to me like a total waste of space and a snoozefest.
Then she ended up being my absolute favorite.
Maybe the developers are just as bad at writing effective character summaries as they are at summarizing dialogue options? (One can hope...)
I'm worried that Sera will be a copy of Isabela. But part of me knows that that worry is incredibly stupid, because of course they're already aware of that. That's my issue and not yours, berelinde -- just trying to let you know that others definitely share some of those concerns, but all we can do at this point is try to stay optimistic.

The thing is, you can't base potentially not buying the game just because Gaylan might not be a companion/you don't like the description of the women. Think of it this way, Isabela's description is far from complimentary but she turned out to have far more depth than just a pirate chick who's into free love and stealing sh!t.
This is BioWare, their characters have more layers than an onion.

I've had good luck so far with the healers in the party, but my worst fear is having one that I loathe and needing them too badly not to use them (I know people complained about that in both previous games.)
But seriously... if I can just have a couple buddies that I like (Varric is already one) it looks like the world itself will be so vast and fascinating that the game will still be substantial without the others.
