Ok I can't sleep, so here's a sort of question for you:

We can pretty much assume that they've got the companions sorted for DA3 (although probably still subject to change), do you think they'll ask us what NPC's and/or companions we'd want in a Q & A thread? And if so, would you kinda feel like they were just asking us in order to generate attention to the game, since we already know that they've got at least the first draft of the script, for John Epler to even be in the stages of coming up with and designing the cinematic scenes.

I think If they do ask us about the companions then i'd be pretty sure that this whole Q & A fiasco is just damage control and a publicity stunt to try and pacify the masses. That being said, I'd still give them my feedback, just incase lol.

Whoa. Catching up.

Multiplayer: mixed feelings about this. I don't have much free time for multi-player games, time zone issues can be problematic, and when I'm traveling and stuck in hotels or airports, videogames are my entertainment. I would be very unhappy if parts of the story were only uncoverable during multiplayer play and, like berelinde, I would not want the single-player game to suffer. So... yeah. :/

Tallis as a potential DA3 companion? Maker, noooooooooooooooooooooooooo. >_<

R2Muse: Fic with Cullen having a long standing mistress?!?! Hm! You have my interest. So, without giving away all the goodies, what's the plot idea? :D

(I'll probably get back to posting Cullen fic in the middle of next week. I have kinkmeme story that must be finished plus my canon!Hawke's story which could kind of be considered a long standing mistress, sort of.)

LolaLei + everyone talking about ME: ah, I like the option of being able to interrupt and do a renegade or paragon action, but the game absolutely needs to include the ability to pause at any time so annoying household interruptions (or flight boarding, or phone ringing) doesn't require me to replay from my last save. :C

Oooh!  Cullen's eyes look more like their DA:O color in this one. Was this color corrected or modded?

DA2 Cullen's eye color baffles me. I can't quite figure out what it is. Sort of a hazel-green, although I swear it changes depending on the light.

Dude, this is why I don't tread elsewhere. You can't change some people's mind, and that one seems a bit aggro. I'd just give up.  Anyhoo, that idea of theirs is also very old. For example, here's greywardens.com's take on it.

And, yes I was going to bed... I just can't stop editing. OK. Stopping now... Gnight. For reals. :D

Yep. That's why this is the only BSN thread I hang out on (after lurking for months, lolz).

Sorry - I know I'm coming to the party a bit late (was asleep while you were all talking ;)) but is anyone else a bit concerned with them calling it 'The Next Dragon Age Thing' on Twitter? Maybe I'm just cynical but I hope it does definitely turn out to be DA3 and not like something like Dragon Age Legends...or a movie/tv show or something.

I may be a touch paranoid xD

No, I don't think any degree of apprehension could be called paranoia. The recent focus on marketing and "gimmicks" is enough to make anyone wary. But I'm pretty sure that they mean DA3, even if they call it someone else. You don't pull people off of other projects to work on a free facebook game. You do cancel a planned expansion in order to work on something with a higher price tag, however.

I'm really hoping that they release some info soon.

I dunno. They've been calling it that I think since Marc Darrah announced the end of DA2, right? I figured it's just cute non-speak since there's officially no DA3. Guess I'm not paranoid yet... But, one more forum question about merchandising and I may become so... :?

Hmm, I think they'd be smarter than this; that if they have the figured out, they wouldn't ask us who we want... I suppose that anything that gives them the structured feedback they need has got to be a good thing ... so long as it isn't just a marketing ploy. But, with no real announcements, I don't think we'd even know anyway. :D

Yeah, I know. I always go with "amber" now after seeing the following, without lighting issues, and I think someone told me that was the  name of the color in DA:O...?

You remember the DA2 banter between Aveline and Varric in the Legacy DLC regarding a story he was writing about a the Captain of the Guard and a Knight-Captain? Wouldn't it be awesome if in DA3 we find that book after Varric published it! Could you imagine the banter that would occur as our Protagonist, Cullen or one of the othe companions read a paragraph out loud! He'd know it was about him in a heartbeat and would probably be really embarrassed/flustered!

PC:
"One hot Knight in the city" by Varric Thethras... Ooo it's a play on words! Hm, looks intriguing"
Cullen: "Varric finally published one of his stories? I suppose he may as well earn some coin from his tall tales"
PC: *Clears throat* "The Captain of the Guard's heavy bossom heaved as her long red hair cascaded down her slender back, never before had she set eyes upon such a beautiful man as the Knight-Captain of Kirkwall..."
Cullen: "Oh my..."
PC: "She pulled at his golden curls as he kissed her neck and pulled her closer into his tight embrace, his need for her becoming animalistic, as his amber eyes drank her in greedily..."
Cullen: "I.. I think I've heard enough"
PC: " Aw, but we're just getting to the good bit!"
Cullen: *Mumbles* "I'll kill him..."

Wait, I don't remember that banter... and the reason I don't remember it is because I took Anders, Varric, and Carver through Legacy. Maybe I will have to try more combinations on the next playthrough. It's just so hard leaving those three at home.

Oh man, that would be awesome! Heh heh.

Cullen: PC, what are you reading there?
PC:...
Cullen: PC? Are you... are you blushing?
PC: Of course not! It's nothing just a little ... light reading. [She tries to slip the book in her bag, but he grabs it]
Cullen: Hmm, Swords and Shields. [He flips through, then begins reading outloud] "The guardswoman blushed, her cheeks suddenly matching the rosy ginger of her hair, and murmured, "I stand for all of us!" The blonde Knight-Captain smiled wickedly, his amber eyes flashing, and replied, "Then stand for this!" [suddenly he stops, turning red himself]
Other companion: What's the matter Cullen?
Cullen:...
PC: [Grabs the book out of his hand, and puts it away while he stands there shamefaced]You should keep your hands to yourself!
Cullen: Indeed... indeed it seems I should. Ahem. I'll just be over here...

<d'oh :ph34r: I know I got ninja'd by Lola, but figured I'd put it out there anyway!>

Here's the original banter:

Aveline: Allright, tell me. How does it end?
Varric: Beg your pardon?
Aveline: That guard story of yours. The one with the guardsmen, who falls in love with a templar knight captain.
Varric: Oh, the romance! Swords and Shields. I just started that serial. It got ten chapters to go.
Aveline: Yes, but you know how it ends. Just tell me.
Varric: I’ve got an idea, but the story… the story will go where it wants to go. The characters drive it, not me.
Aveline: You are the author! That makes no sense at all.
Varric: A good story you don’t really write, it was always there. You just uncover it.

Where he says he's got an idea how it ends, he's not refering to his story there... I wonder if that's a hint of some sorts to suggest nothing but misery in his future... or that he might be a companion/LI in DA3... or both?

,,, Hm, I'm probably just clutching at straws there lol.

And Corypheus is too frickin' lethal to take on too many times "for fun". Dammit. Now I want to go home and play Legacy again. I enjoyed that so much more than MotA.

Lola, you are seriously chanelling Varric. I wouldn't say that you *are* Varric, however. I hate to be the one to tell you this, but you just can't compete with his chest hair.

Both of you, thanks for posting those Cullen banters!

And Cullen+Aveline indeed! I don't see that happening. I don't know why, but I kind of imagine him gravitating toward someone who isn't so... serious isn't the right word, but it's the only one I can think of at the moment. He needs to laugh more.

LOL Maker nooooo!

But anyway, I didn't mean that I thought Cullen and Aveline might get together. I meant that when Varric says "I've got an idea how it ends" - as if to suggest that he's not talking about his Sword & Shields story at that point, and instead is perhaps refering to the Knight-Captain IRL (perhaps suggesting/hinting that in DA3 Cullen will be a companion/LI or that his story arc in the future will be dramatic), he then goes onto say "But the story... the story will go where it wants to go." - now he's talking about the story he's writing again. Then he finall says "A good story you don’t really write, it was always there. You just uncover it." - maybe suggesting that Cullen's "sexual frustration" and reluctance to allow himself happiness is obvious even to him, and might be addressed in DA3.

Then again, it could have been a joke towards the fanfic writer LOL.

LOL! None could compete with that chest hair... I hear it was spun from gold, by the Maker himself!

Yeah, I think him dating someone as serious as himself wouldn't be the best coupling, he needs someone to teach him up to lighten up and relax whilst he gets to play the Knight in shining armor and protect his lover and teach him how to look after themselves properly.

Also, did anyone else notice at the end of Legacy, that regardless of whether you side with Larius or Janeka, as you kill Corypheus it looks like they're being possessed by him? Keep an eye on Larius behind Hawke's shoulder:

And listen to what Janeka says after you kill Corypheus if you side with her, talk about give away!:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u9U32M9HGrY

*Edit* Oooo Janeka and Larius both mention returning to the Warden Commander... which is our Hero of Ferelden isn't it? How much do you wanna bet the little sod has stolen our Warden and Hawke had to go help sort that sh!t out since he/she was the one who struck the death blow to Corypheus in DA2. Maybe our new protagonist will have to save both their arses? Either that or Corypheus has unleased hell and our Warden 'n' Hawke are off trying to fix things.

You know, I never noticed this before! Hmm, that would be a very interesting way to involve the Warden again... you have to somehow save his/her ass.

Indeed, Legacy was so kick@ss, gives me great hope for DA3. Now, if only I could leave Tallis behind for MOTA... :D

And, also, I agree with you both, I see Aveline and Cullen being much to similar to work as a couple. But, friends would be cool.
