Gosh, you know, re-reading that part of the comic with Mary Kirby's comments in mind... Bianca could very well be alive.

Bianca says, "Don't you love me? Don't you still want to run away with me?"
Varric says, "We... tried that. We didn't make it."
Bianca: But we could make it *this* time, Varric.
V: It wouldn't be real.
B: Like a story? You *love* stories.
V: Not as much as I loved you.
Varric then continues his narration, saying, "The only solace I had was a certain lady friend, and that didn't work out in the end. Things rarely do."

"didn't make it" "didn't work out" Those phrases could easily describe them breaking up.

I knew you'd say that  And agree, although some people like my self started graying very, very early. If I didn't constantly color my hair, you'd see I'm completely gray at the temples. 

As for losing hair, my little brother started losing his hair in his early 20s, poor baby. He shaves his head completely now because he has almost no hair on the top of his head, and he's turning 30 this year. However, most of my friends who are in their 30s have all their hair still. Well, and some guys never really lose it, lucky fellas.

As for wrinkles, unless you spend your days roofing houses in the desert, yeah, you are not going to have huge wrinkles by your 30s ... I agree that maybe!Cullen looks the perfect age for mid to late 30s, and by the way, that's not really approaching middle-aged, which I always thought of as 50....

I got my first grey hairs when I was 23 (and I love them!) I hear it's up to genetics as is balding althought I seem to be the only one in my family to get them so young.

The thought crossed my mind earlier if they might make Cullen less handsome than before just to mess wth Cullen fans  "You want a Cullen romance? Sure here he is, did we mention we retconned him so he's now a 67, bald, slightly overweight and wears only highwasted pants and hawaii shirts? After all it's the inside that counts!"

It sounds to me like they broke up. "Not as much as I LOVED you." I wonder if this suggests he will be a LI. And Bianca will just be something you have to deal with... his moment of choice/crisis, sort of like Zevran and his old lover.

LOL Yes, I'm a broken record. But jeez... in principle he's not even *gasp* 40!  And, yeah, everyone starts getting grey hairs in their thirties. I still distinctly remember getting my first while applying to grad school at 21... which I promptly plucked out! My dad went completely silver in his thirties, but that's pretty anomalous.

But for comparison, the cast of the TV show Friends were in their thirties for most of the show.

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking now, too. Like ... maybe she screwed him over during whatever their deal was with the merchant's guild. She seems like a bit of a wheeler and dealer in the comic.

Oh yeah, true! And probably also Saved By The Bell.  And don't forget Sex in the City; they were in their 30s, 40s, and 50s, and so were their LIs... and while they didn't always pick good looking LIs (Aidan the obvious exception, MREOW!) they definitely looked f***ing fabulous.

I'm warming to the notion of this being a game with a cast of 30s, 40s, and 50s folks. And..... even considering letting my inquisitor being an older fellow. WHOA, slow down there... by "older" I mean like ... 29... okay maybe 30

From DG himself, but I don't recall the exact wording. 'vowed never to love another' seems a little too strong. What I recall is more that Bianca is the reason he wasn't a LI...

Yeah, but if you were prohibited from disclosing information prior to the appointed time, what would you say? Granted, David's insistence that friendship is sometimes the ultimate relationship goal and his continuous assertion that this is the case with Varric makes me doubt very highly that Varric will be a LI in DAI, but it won't be because he said no on Twitter.

I remember something about building romances and the need for conflict. Varric's a bit too chill for that, so there's no tension, no way to keep a romance in the golden middle between attraction and consummation. Yeah, I'm sure it would be possible to give Varric enough inner demons to make love story interesting, but I'm not sure it would be possible to do so without breaking the thing we love best about him.

 I honestly think much can change regardless of what's posted on twitter. However, that post was pretty recent (LI's would have been decided at that time) and it was a flat out "no". I think Varric will be combing his own chest hair in DAI...
