Let's put it this way: If this guy in the picture were screaming like Cassandra or had his hands on his head like the "OMG Guy" (lol), would we think him Cullen? 0% chance.

Well, R2, what also makes him Cullen-y to me is the body language. The hand gesture in particular. That restrained concern.

oh, my god..it is him! the hands definitely, but also look at the face hair. very lil mustache. hardly any. and the goatee part..the sides creep up a lil bit, just like in the art...gasp..

R2, another thing that makes him Cullen in my eyes (I should say, reminds me of Cullen... obviously I have no idea if this guy is or isn't) is his posture and attitude. As someone else pointed out, everyone else is freaking out (except aloof elf guy), but Maybe!Cullen is sort of calmly stepping in to diffuse the situation. How often did he do that in game?

Agree. he's not freaking, he's not saying, "Hey... it's not my problem... let them eat each other.", he's saying, "hey wait a minute..." That's our guy! I mean... maybe !  Argh.

And, agree, I think Cullen's armor is generic warrior armor. In fact, it's kind of similar to some of the GW dude's customization pics...

Exactly. And even in DAI he's gonna look diff than what he did in DA2/O. Look at Morrigan and Varric.

I can accept the hairline issue as a nod to his age, but yeah. I mean what is this, a screencap of a print from a video that never even properly focuses on it?

   blond hair
?? amber eyes

x?   dark circles under his eyes
x   long, oval face


I mean you can't tell colors, and the shadows make it hard to tell how extensive his stubble might be. But, what else would make this guy "Cullen" to you?  Apparently the artists were told to make DA2 Cullen "clean cut" which translated to smokin hot.

Right, seeing these pictures together I can definitely see why people think it's him, and as I said above I'm starting to think that it could be. There's no denying that the maybe!Cullen's expression and stance/body language is VERY in keeping with Cullen's general reaction to most things in DA2, it's that whole "let's try to pacify the situation and not blow things out of proportion" thing that he does.

I wish we had a HD version of this picture to look at.

yeah, looking at them together, the hair line really looks about the same.

Yeah plus think about how much Anders, Merrill, and Isabela changed in terms of appearance when they became characters.

Heck even an NPC like Marethari changed drastically.

Based on the photos above I would say that he has a smilar nose shape, deep eyes and low eyebrows.
Edit: similar brow shape (minus the frown:) Yep, I am in the camp that thinks it's Cullen

I'm interested to see what Cullen's DAI version will look like, because Varric, Morrigan and Cassandra are all easily recognisable even though they look drastically different.

It also kinda looks like that dude is wearing a skirt, or tabard or something.

As it is, I am very excited now. I can't wait to meet him in game.

Whoever he is and it is Cullen, he's a good looking guy, so no complaints from me :]
