I could NEVER romance Thane because that relationship trigger looked so damn awkward to me. My hat goes off to everyone who could click it (says the Garrusmancer, who's relationship trigger was basically 'yo, bro, lets do it'.)
My dad and my stepmom met IRL in grief counseling when both of their spouses died within the same month. In their case, their shared experiences of grief over their loved ones brought them together.
Same reason why I wouldn't be able to romance Varric if he's an LI, because of Bianca.

Yeah, c'est la vie! I really enjoyed his romance and felt awful when he was dying in ME3 and I got back together with Kaidan...
<---- terrible person
You don't realize exactly how miserable Thane is until you romance him. Being able to heal some of those wounds was really rewarding. You know, until I cheated on him

I've always been hopeful that the cut Starkhaven content will carry over. His DLC content was such a great set up for another game... It's funny how no one ever really talks about him as a companion option.Danny Boy 7 wrote...
I honestly believe they were going to conclude his story in the expansion, possibly set in Starkhaven or some other Free Marches city. He would potentially hate Hawke, but since his city is in peril hr accepts help anyway.brushyourteeth wrote...

I sort of liked Sebastian's routes a bit more than the others though. It wouldn*t be realistic if they all did this, but I liked that he was either this revenge driven prince or repentant priest.
I'd hope for all of them to be that way, but I know it's unlikely.
I'm hoping they show the protagonist in their default gear today.
Yeah, I have to wonder how they're going to do that. Since your interaction with Seb's character dramatically changed his outlook and his set course in life, and then imports are going to be different... hmm. I'm just curious how they're going to pull that one off in DA:I (if he's even in the game.)
And then some people *cough*meanieweenie*cough* haven't even played Sebastian's content. So maybe he'll end up coming to the same conclusion about princehood/priesthood no matter what. Do you have any theories, Danny?
You would have then either rebuilt your friendship/rivalry or continued what you were doing if you killed Anders. Possibly with the chance to betray him again.
I don't think he will show up in Inquisition unless they some how include the cut content. If he is he might die in the opening or maybe he meets us as the Prince. If he is a brother he may just show up in a random Chantry somewhere lol.
As JediBeagle said, it is plausible that they sent him back to Starkhaven regardless. I suppose you don't really need the DLC content to begin with him as a newly installed Prince. I keep hoping that's why I didn't get my rivalmance content in Legacy or MotA, is because all my Princess Hawke content is lying in wait in DA:I...

Well, yeah, you'd get the option to either go against them or side with them. Like you could with Petrice in DA2.

You know, something that could be fun is if the current Vael usurper's puppeteers orchestrated an assassination attempt against Sebastian and he came back all "Oh no you didn't!!"
Especially if there were blood in the Chantry. Seb would freeeaaaakkk.

I dunno if it will be more than what it was in DA2, a fond memory if you imported a mage origin. Best case imho for those who want it mentioned (I don't mind either way, but I don't want him to always talk about her if he's romanceable. It'd be like the man/woman your dating talking about their ex all the time) is a story about the Circle and how there was one unblemished light that has got him through that time as you do now or something lol.
He better not bloody say that!
Lol well I mean in a non-romantic way. Like, an ex or friend you've fallen out of touch with who helped you deal with a traumatic experience so you remember them fondly.
Sort of like how Anders talks about Karl.
Edit: Well brush put it in his "voice" better lol
Bad example: Anders and Karl were toats together.
*edit* and thanks!!!
Lol np, but that's what I mean, like Lola said he handled it rather well, maybe a bit to well. Since he gets over him rather soon, but that's another discussion.
He mentions Karl as his lover, but by the second or third convo he never mentions him again.

I don't know much about the Illusive Man in ME because I'm still in the prologue in ME (the controls are totally kicking my butt to the point where I can't really play it), but I do want Lambert to still be alive. I don't want his death (preferably slow and excruciating) to occur in a novel. I'd like to be the cause of it. He was an awesome villain.LolaLei wrote...

True I guess what I'm trying to say is that it shouldn't warrant more than a passing, "She was a good gal" comment and not be central to his character arc. Than again when are the past games? Anders is more focused on the now, Isabela's past was laid out more in her romance I think and Merrill was focused on a singular major facet of that origin.
I'm just convinced that he'll have bigger fish to fry than a crush he had years ago.

I agree. My husband and I don't talk about my ex-boyfriends and crushes now except to laugh at them (or at me for having them).
Most people, even if they wouldn't rather forget, would rather not talk about it too much.
Granted, Cullen isn't most people and that's why we like him, so no judgment to anyone who thinks F!Mage!Warden should still be a big deal in his life.

Word. I just think there's a lot more to him than just Amell... despite what a lot of the fandom likes to think, fans and haters, so I just hope he's not boiled down to that. Of course... I'd rather that than him suddenly being a one-note "mages aren't people like you and me"-type bigot without all those other layers and doubts he developed over the course of DA2.Danny Boy 7 wrote...

As an aside, is red lyrium common enough to feed to templars? I'm sure it would mess them up, but i get the feeling that it's pretty rare.

No idea, I just figured that since they're cut off from the chantry lyrium supply they'll need to get it elsewhere. All it would take is for a dodgy lyrium dealer to stumble upon the red stuff and then market it as "extra strength" and BOOM! Crazy lyrium addled super-templars everywhere!
