Woo I'm finally home after an exhausting day!

So I saw that write up on Morrigan over at GI, anything else?

I see y'all are talking about a DG post, what post is that?

First one was DG confirming that if you didn't do the Dark Ritual then the OGB doesn't exist, and the second was about him saying that if the Warden and Hawke return then essentially the team can do whatever they want with them because they stopped being "your character" the minute the game ends.

So we shouldn't be surprised if either or both end up doing something that breaks our head canons 'n' stuff.

Something I noticed about the screenshots of Vivienne... seems they still don't know how to make free-moving clothing. Her split-robe is stuck to each leg. I know, I know; it's pre-alpha, yadda yadda. I'm sure it'll look better once it's out. (It just seems like everybody else can do robes and cloaks except DA)

Geez... that's pretty cold. I wonder why he says stuff like that sometimes. :? I can't say I won't be upset of I import a Hawke and he acts wildly out of character. Sheesh.

It was more along the lines of what he/she had been doing. Like, don't be surprised if the Warden's and/or Hawke's LI are no longer with them sort of thing.

I think DG was just in another of his moods.

The Inquisitor's cloak looked pretty flappy in the dust storm at the end of the trailer, they've probably just not polished everything else up yet.

Well Zevran already acted like my Warden didn't exist in DA2 =]

My heart will shatter if my Hawke and Fenris are no longer together. SHATTER.

Yeah, I'd be gutted about both my protagonists. I dunno, I just don't want another ME3 dead Shepard situation on my hands lol.

Hnnghh...still breaks my heart to not have any closer for my Garrus/Shepard playthroughs aside from the vague "breath" scene. I've only been able to do Destroy endings, since it's the only one that even hints at Shepard surviving. Plus ya know, dead Reapers and all. They suck balls.

It's been a good long while since I romanced Fenris, so I'm gearing up to do a new playthrough now w/ a mage. Haven't tried romancing him w/ anything other than a rogue, and that was just once so I'm pretty excited. Not sure if I want to go Rival or Friend, but w/ a mage Rival seems fitting.

I checked out that link to that thread...and maybe I'm just exhausted from all the yard work I've been doing lately...sigh...so much yard...but I can't seem to figure out just wtf David is talking abt.

I left the thread wondering just wtf are you getting at David?

Then this. Is this some kinda back handed good news? I don;t even...

"At any rate, I'm not going to get into a big discussion about it. We realize some people are very precious about their PC's, and we're not apt to go out of our way to have them do things that violate headcanon... but they obviously did something, and that involves a plot that may not be what someone had in mind. Just be aware."

You knoooow, I'm gonna be straight up. If I'm not playing the PC of Past, then I don't wanna see them. Not for any effin' head canon abt what happens after the friggin game is over. No. It's just effin' weird! It's weird enuf seeing sum old companion make a cameo...my god. Like a PC body jumping experience. "Oh! I'm the Warden! No, I'm Hawke! Oh, snap, shake it off!"

If I see my PC Past prancing about as sum NPC now, that's gonna be an extremely weird experience. Devs have a diff experience w/this stuff cuz they created it all. The know all the strings attached. But when you're fresh to this world they created, it's a diff experience.

Devs and players do not share the same experience. I dare say players see the magic. Devs see the code.

Now, if I have the option to actually play one of my PC Past..then well, I'll love you long time. And if anybody speaks against you, I'll cut them!

But just PC Past showing up as sum effin' NPC? No. Or, maybe I should quote David, "HELL no!" And not cuz of sum lame head canon abt sailing around the world w/Isabela, or sumthing. I mean, really.

What would you do if, say, you were at the airport waiting to collect your bags from the lil bag train thing, and you look up and see, "Another yourself" waiting on the other side to collect their bags?

Wouldn't your first reaction be, "Wtf?!?" What do you do? Do you go talk to them?.....You:.".....uh....hey...*makes squinty eyes at "another yourself"*....how you doin'?......PC Past: "blah, blah, blah". You: ...uh...yeah...*start backing up slowly*.....I should go.  *grabs bag and runs outta airport*"

<_< Yeah, you can do wateva you want, but that doesn't mean you should. Ppl Can do a whole lotta things. That doesn't mean they Should.

I'm up here trying to get into a new PC, and you're gonna have me PC Past body jumping all over the place? No, thank you.

If I can't play them, put 'em in effin' codex.

sigh. hmm. okay. I'm a lil tired and cranky. And apparently Game Informer had nothing really useful to add to the conversation today, so...I guess I should go.

People already mentioned the cloaks, but also, not every fabric has the same fluidity. Vivienne dresses like an Orlesian lady with the masks and the face paint and the expensive clothes. Some luxury fabrics don't have a lot of drape to them. Brocade is especially stiff. It's possible that some outfits will be flowier than others... which is kinda cool if you think about it. It would be nice to see garments behaving as if they were made of different materials.

Edit: Also, I kinda wonder if we'll be able to add face paint or masks as a kind of tattoo.

Uh... yeah. Unless Cole stops wearing those stinky leathers, he won't offer much competition for any of the others. On the plus side, he is broody. It's a popular trait. I don't really see Cullen like that. More focused and methodical. Intense, but not angsty.

If there were tombstones, nobody said there had to be bodies underneath them. They could have faked their own deaths and ridden off into the sunset with their LIs. Since DAI will have horses, this is now a possibility.

I don't think we'll actually see them, he's just getting himself ready for the BSN ****storm that will erupt when they reveal why the last two protags disappeared. People did go crazy over the fact that they did, so it's safe to bet that people will go crazy over why they did as well.

He's posted almost the exact same thing everytime the issue of "Why is this past character not doing what I want them to be doing?" arises, and I just think he's fed up with it. They're trying to write a story here, and the characters will bloody well perform the role they chose for them. Something like that. Image IPB

Personally, I love his frankness. I think I might actually love all of them; the level of interaction with the fans is insane, and they all feel like real people. Bioware, you are such a gem. Image IPB

That is possibly the most heart-shattering glitch EVER. :crying:

And I am very curious as to the circumstances of the Warden's and Hawke's disappearance. Is Flemeth collecting heroes, or do heroes simply vanish from Thedas because their destiny has been fulfilled and they get a fast-lane pass to the Maker's side? Does the LI come along for the ride, or are they left...all alone...

I don't know about recreating the Warden/Hawke. I wouldn't even know how they looked like, if it wasn't for BSN. I guess if we do get to recreate them I'll have to have this site open for a cheat sheet, :P

Honestly, I think I'm on the team that really doesn't need to see either the Warden or Hawke again. Give me a codex entry/letter or have Flemeth tell me what happend with them, that's enough for me. It's the Inquisitors game, so those two need to back up.

About Mr. Gaider. I don't know, I personally love his attitude. He is probably getting tired already about the complaining on these boards, even before the game has come out. We don't know anything really, we know bits and pieces, but we can't see the whole picture yet. Does that stop some people on the BSN from complaining about it? Nope.

I know fabrics have different feels and thicknesses to them, but take a look at the screenshots. The sides of her cloak are stuck to her legs. It reminds me of this Jedi looking cloak you could put on Fenris. I thought it looked cool, but then when he ran it looked ridiculous because the two parts of the cloak just stuck all the way down his legs. Running in robes was almost as bad. But we have a year and a half to go; I'm sure this'll look loads better.

About Hawke and the Warden; the Warden I'm not really attached to (and like I said, his romance with Zevran was already ruined by DA2 glitches), but I'd love to see Hawke and Fenris in DA:I! (More than likely it would be just Hawke, and screw the LI). I don't know how this'll happen though if we can't import saves. They'll get us to recreate him (or her) in CC? Even so, I'd love to speak to him (using "he" here since I'm referring to my personal Hawke) and find out what he's been doing. I wouldn't have to see Fenris with him, but I'd defiitely shatter the screen with the controller if he reveals he broke up with him or something lol

Sometimes what he posts can be hurtful though. He makes broad statements and paints the whole community in sweeping strokes. It puts me on the defensive, and that makes me feel awkward and confused, since I loved every BW game I've played so far and am definitely not one of the haters.

Or when he makese fun of people who love romances. Why should I feel bad about liking romances?? I pay for the game and play it 10 times and praise it up the wall, but because I like romances, I get mocked?? Aghghg.

I'd rather not see my Warden or Hawke, and just be told what happened to them (preferably safe and still with their respective LI).

I'd agree with that. Don't get me wrong, I can see why he's abrasive, but I find that he can be a bit of a bully (like he was with the Cullen fans) before we bundled in there and set him straight.

I don't tolerate bullying, regardless of who they are or how important they might be.

I was wondering what Varric meant when he said at the end of the game "Eventually we all had to leave the Champions side, well, except for [insert LI here]"

Did they leave Hawke's side because of their own reasons? I get why Aveline would leave, because of Donnic, but wouldn't they all be somewhat hunted, because they helped Hawke? I don't see Aveline or even Varric just be able to return to Kirkwall and resume their normal live again, after what happened.
