I'll describe it to you. It was the female version of the guy wearing the rings on the DA website, except she had black nail polish and was holding out a book.

The second one was a slightly different looking version of Morrigan from the DAI trailer. In my opinion she looked better than her current version.

Oh, interesting. Sounds like the figures and their items might represent class while the rings represent the factions, then. Maybe. It could represent different playstyles/ways to handle situations too, like helmet= defensive/protective, sword= offensive/aggressive, book = political/intrigue/what have you.

I'm still going to hold by that the gowy-red-eyecatching ring means something in particular to the protagonist or actually represents the dragons or something. It is way too eye catching/close to being the main focus to simply be another 'average' faction. The Graphic Designer in me demands this can not be the case, because that's not how you design if you mean that ring to be 'equal' to the others.

And a different version of Morrigan. Interesting!

Ok this is so random. I'm watching the season premiere if FaceOff, the movie makeup competition on SyFy... And Holly Conrad and Jessica Merizan are on it! I guess they're there to plug Heroes of Cosplay, which premieres right after. As FemShep and Hawke, of course. Wow!!

R2, how do I transfer Cullen's real face model onto Hawke? Is there a console command for it?

I'm not aware of a console command for that. I can email you the steps. You need to install an editor to modify your save file. It's pretty easy. Or you can send me your save and I'll mod it.

Email me over the steps, it'll be good for me to learn how to do it.

The pics will probably pop up on Tumblr anyway, once that sort of thing is on the internet it's impossible to prevent it from getting around, lol.

That's exactly what I imagine poor Carver did the whole time if you made him a Templar. Bless him.

Hello our ever curious Dragon Age friends,

I’d like to say a few words about the images posted in this thread earlier today. Two images were mistakenly released and posted here, one of which showed a slightly different version of Morrigan from our E3 “The Fires Above” trailer, the other was one of many piece of key art we tried before settling on the helmet and sword images you can see on www.dragonage.com.

You may wonder why there were differences in the Morrigan shots? It’s pretty simple really and you may like to hear a little about one aspect of developing a game like Dragon Age. Once we know roughly what we want to show in a trailer or a specific scene in the game, the team here starts by blocking out the fundamentals like spaces, characters, temp voice acting etc. Each aspect is then worked on by individual people and reviewed in a group session where feedback is given.

When we get closer to the deadline these reviews happen every single day and we agonize over all sorts of tiny things as to reach the quality we want to accomplish. Yes, even things like which side her beauty mark should be on :) It’s actually really cool to go back to the first version of a scene and compare it to the final result, kind of like looking at your high school graduation photos 10 years on and laughing at how goofy you looked! We removed these images because, whilst cool, we’d put more time into what you finally saw.

Anyway, this is why you saw differences between what was shown at E3 and what we were working on during that process. It’s also quite possible lots of things will continue to improve and change before you get your hands on the final game.

Well that’s it from me, keep calm and game on!

Cameron

He handled that incredibly well. Tbh, I think he's probably the best person to send in when sh!t like that happens.

Agree. He has a knack for saying just the right thing. Three cheers for Cam!

Also, I'll send you the email tomorrow morning; sorry for the delay! Too tired now to write cogent sentences.

I tried to stay on a blackout for that GI stuff but my gosh...late I know. I didn't even know Bioware changed their stance on playable races. Saw that alpha footage with mounts. Oh boy...

It's been my dream to see an open game with Bioware's story/characters.

It's not fully open world, but it's pretty close!

Yea, I don't expect that. What I saw in the video was good enough for me on the horse. It's going to probably steer you to specific areas for story purposes but those areas will be big.

It's reminding me of something more along the lines of Assassin's Creed or Red Dead Redemption rather than Skyrim.

Aw, I think this is actually too bad.

Thread title: "Someone Better Say "No One Expects the Inquisition" "

David Gaider wrote...

I was sick of that joke even before we began writing.

So I'd say chances are slim to none of it appearing in the game.
