Keep in mind that the dwarven nation extended far beyond Orzammar, and that there are many ruined thaigs. Orzammar is the largest and it's entrance lies in the Frostback Mountains, between Ferelden and Orlais, where the bulk of the story seems to be taking place. But if we're going to be spending any time in Tevinter, that's Kal Sharok territory. Huge swaths of that were wiped out during repeated darkspawn attacks, so Blighted Deep Roads might mean that instead.meanieweenie wrote...

This is true. I was just mentioning that it resembled that small foyer area that joined the Frostbacks outside and the Commons. I thought I recalled there being those paragon statues there right by the front doors. (Which could be common place for dwarven thaigs.) It just caught my eye is all. Poorly worded on my part.berelinde wrote...

Now you're getting back into "we already know that" territory.
I'd love to see Kal-Sharok. Mike Laidlaw tweeted that we'd be staying in southern Thedas -- mostly Orlais and Ferelden. I wonder if the Deep Roads count as their own beast, though, since it's all underground (especially if the entrance we use is through Orzammar, though that's a looooooong trip.)
DA:O did have a seriously heavy emphasis on the dwarves as far as "change things or you'll lose everything because your traditions are broken and your empire is failing." I could see them all being displaced, if not in this game, then at least in another. That'd be craaaaazy.

Yeah, it does. That little hall with all the paragon statues at the entrance to Orzammar.

The paragon statues were in the entrance corridor, right? That had a set of double-stairs going down to a lowered plaza between raised galleries and another double-stair at the far end. I'm not saying that this couldn't possibly be Orzammar, but if it were, I'd expect them to make it look as close as possible to what we saw in DAO.brushyourteeth wrote...

It is concept art though, and the artists seem to be going more for the flavor of the milieu than completely accurate representations!

Bartrand makes a point of saying how dwarves haven't changed for thousands of years. He expects architecture he doesn't find in the Primeval Thaig, and this confuses him. This makes me think that more recently constructed thaigs have a lot of common elements.

I don't think we'll actually see them, he's just getting himself ready for the BSN ****storm that will erupt when they reveal why the last two protags disappeared. People did go crazy over the fact that they did, so it's safe to bet that people will go crazy over why they did as well.
He's posted almost the exact same thing everytime the issue of "Why is this past character not doing what I want them to be doing?" arises, and I just think he's fed up with it. They're trying to write a story here, and the characters will bloody well perform the role they chose for them. Something like that.
Personally, I love his frankness. I think I might actually love all of them; the level of interaction with the fans is insane, and they all feel like real people. Bioware, you are such a gem.
Tbh, I love their frankness, too. I really do. I have a tendency to speak my mind as well, so I appreciate that in others. Sumtimes I'm more diplomatic than others, but hey...
Srsly, tho, I much prefer frankness from them than bs pr speak. And you can always tell when it's bs pr speak. This isn't the 1950's. Ppl know. We let them do their pr speak when they want to, it seems to make them happy. Lol! So, hey.
Anyway, I'm not so cranky today (sorry guys). And I've got to catch up again apparently. Stuff happened, huh?

Could be! Usually, I check locations pretty thoroughly, but with the internet at home out (blown relay station, I'm told), I'm stuck using the work computer, which blocks the wiki... but not BSN, oddly enough.Danny Boy 7 wrote...

If it is on the border of Orlais, that improves the odds that we'll go there. I mean, I loved my Wardens, but I don't want to retrace their steps.

Oh, brush, I'm not saying Imperial Chantry won't play a role at all... but I think when the devs are talking about the Chantry in the recent stuff, and how we're "in opposition" to it, I'd be really surprised if they were talking about the Imperial Chantry instead of the Val Royeaux one. That's all. Who knows how many players there will be in what's to come. I would hope that Tevinter is in there. We haven't heard anyone name check them and whether they are similarly "preoccupied" when the demon sh!t starts to hit the fan.brushyourteeth wrote...

I kind of agree with R2 in terms of the Imperial Chantry, I don't think it is going to be a factor in Inquisition, but I agree that we're probably gonna wind up on the Chantry's ****e list.
So the Orlesian Chantry starts falling apart and southern Thedas is in chaos when a big ol' hole gets opened between our world and the Fade and you don't think the Imperial Chantry might be interested? Just might? Not saying they will, but you don't think maybe they might?
R2M usually has much better intuition about this stuff than I do, but I personally would see that as a wasted opportunity on Tevinter's part.
So as far as who they mean when they say "Chantry" or "church", my guess is that they're referring to the regular ole Orlesian White Divine version. Now, where does the Chantry now stand post-Asunder is anyone's guess. Lambert said at the end of the book that he expects the Chantry to oust Justinia on its own and get right back in bed with the Seekers and templars. So, the Chantry bureaucracy could even have taken over the Chantry and gone back to their mage-containing ways. All we really know is that WoT makes a point of saying "some" seekers and templars have abandoned the Chantry, i.e. not all.

And yeah, Commander Kurt is probably right. The BSN will explode once it finds out that their Wardens and Hawkes aren't officially doing what they're supposed to be doing (which usually involves babies, apparently). DG''s warning to brace yourselves (meme builders are also blocked...) is probably wise.
