So... what the heck are the Wardens doing at Adamant?

For those of you who haven't read the books, Adamant is an old Warden outpost on the west side of Orlais near a giant fissure in the ground. Lots of darkspawn, also the site of a nasty bit of business with a magical experiment gone badly and some demons killing just about everyone in the tower.

Whatever we're doing there must be at the beginning of the game, seeing as this guys party has just reached level 2.

I guess that depends on whether or not that's just a small demo/section, or if the dev had been playing through the game properly. Kinda like DA:O and DA2 where you can jump scenes and sections via console commands.

Or maybe you're not the Inquisitor yet? Maybe what you find are a bunch of old crusty possessed Inquisition dudes from back in the day while investigating ancient fortress?

Yeah I'm reaching! LOL

We're looking for a dusty old manual: "HOW TO BECOME AN INQUISITOR IN 5 EASY STEPS"

Could be. That screen is really early in the game (considering they're all just reaching level 2).

But I still want to know why, as the Inquisitor, we're cutting down Inquisitor soldiers. That just doesn't make sense to me.

Those looked like corpses to me.

At 1:19, the enemy title says "Corpse", but at the 3:01 mark, the enemy's title says "Inquisition Soldier". I still don't get it, but I'm sure it will make sense when the game is out and we're actually playing that part.

That's a good idea. We don't actually start out as the Inquisitor, do we? Have the devs said that we do? I can't remember. I figured it would be like, we're normal people who become the Inquisitor, like with what happened in Origins.

They said we will become Inquisitor early in the game. And will have to lead it "from the start."

As far as Adamant is concerned, maybe as an Inquisitor with some sort of say in the Mage/Templar war, maybe we're looking for clues about reversing Tranquility for the Mages? Especially if Vivienne is in our party...? Another long shot.

Or maybe Lola's right and it's not really the beginning of the game. Maybe your dudes just get turned against you via magic at some point.

So have you guys given any more thought to PAX Prime? They've got a panel or something there which they've titled as "an introduction to the Inquisition". Do you suppose they'll be actually explain more about how we end up in the Inquisition and why/what we'll be doing in more detail, or just repeating what was said in the GI articles and videos?

Well, that's what made me think you were right initially about the "Knight Commander Cullen" thing, since that would probably be something he'd want to investigate.

Hmm.

Looks like you're fighting an old-school DA:O hulock at about 0:40 (or something similar).

Fighting corpses at 1:20 and

Not sure what you're fighting at 2:20 and 2:30 (maybe someone else can zoom in?)

You definitely kill a demon at 2:50. Looks like a rage demon? Maybe some corpses too.

"Inquisition Soldier" at 3:00 is walking rather zombie-like and coming at you with open hands and no weapon. That's definitely not a normal person thing to do.

Of course, not all of these enemies have to be in the same area. But fun to check into.

That's probably the most likely. It's not like people haven't been charmed and possessed before. Iduna almost got Hawke to kill him/herself with his/her own knife.

LOL look at us. We should be flipping out over gameplay and instead all I can focus on is the story! Ah, love you, Bioware!

As an unfortunate plot twist, being an extremely effective Inquisitor gains you extra legions of capable followers.

... who then become possessed or enchanted and come back to hunt you in greater strength at the end. Meheheh!! Image IPB

This is how Bioware rewards completionists. *twirls moustache*

At 1:15 (and a little past that), I see Vivienne, a white-haired (possibly very blonde) elvish-looking archer chick (Sera?) a rogue with two knives, possibly the Inquisitor, or... Cole? And the older Grey Warden fellow. So parties of four again? I assume the rogue guy is the Inquisitor. And everyone is level 3 there.
