Do you suppose the current summer 2014 expected release is subject to change depending on how quickly or slowly it takes them to finish it? I really hope this isn't down to that ****ing SWTOR game because it just means it's been postphoned, rather than them taking the time, care and attention it needs to be an amazing game... if it has been postphone then come 2014 it may turn out that we've waited years just to play a crappy rushed game.

Aha. That makes more sense then. I can't see them delaying release of one title because another (already released) one needs help getting its s/s romance options out the door or whatever, but I can definitely see them delaying the release of a title to give another new title time in the limelight.Melca36 wrote...
They have that Command and Conquer game coming out in the Fall of 2013 I think.
I'm a heathen. I don't do sci-fi.As for SWTOR I will NEVER understand why they released an online game with a LEVEL 50 cap.
I support this suggestion. If thats far away, they really need to give us a free dlc with a story that leads up to DA:3 because 2014 will mark 5 years since Origins and 3 since DA:2.
If you're looking for something to do, you might want to have another look at your Varel fic. What I read of it was excellent. Unless you've lost interest, in which case, ah well.

Hey thanks. :-) I actually have a beta reader now so thats going to get rewritten. I'm focused on some other fics at the moment. My beta told me to focus on one at a time but its okay to do an outline on another one,
I appreciate the comments by the way.
Plan to do some Cullen fic down the road too.

Sorry to be so vague re: release news... which isn't really "news". My source is someone in the biz and that's all I'll say about it because I'd hate to burn a bridge for running my mouth.
I asked for an ETA and the exact response was "Currently the earliest is summer of 2014."
Keep in mind that there are never really any sets dates for these things. Also keeping in mind that there is still additional DLC planned for ME3. I don't know very much about SWTOR. (I don't do sci-fi either. I've tried but it didn't work out so we decided it was best to part ways.)

Isn't Mass Effect done by a different team?

I think so, but don't some of them pull double duty for both games? I'm not up on who does what. I just poke around here and there with the few folks I do know.

In the biz as in actually working for Bioware?
I guess summer 2014 does make sense.

28 is a good year! Here's to hoping the Mayan's weren't right or we'll never know what happened to our Wardens!

I got bored of the head dress, fancied something a little more... oriental lol.
Balls, I forgot about that whole end of the world theory! I'd be right pissed off if the world blew up before I got to play DA3.

Funny, that doesn't actually seem that long to me. I already figured next year was too soon, so 2014 is next up. That is quite a while to lose the fanbase's interest, tho. I wonder what they might do to stoke the fires...

Thank you.
My early stuff is kind of cringeworthy.
I think I evolved when I got out of my Alistair/Cousland stage.
Glad you're enjoying it.

Speaking of Dragon Age Confessions....I actually follow the site and as much as those confessions annoy me...some of the confessions do have some great screenshots. I like how they distinguish themselves from the other confession sites.
Agree that they're often quite annoying. In what way do you think they distinguish themselves exactly? Because of the screenshots? I don't follow any other confession sites regularly, just posts here and there, so I am curious.

I'll be 43. Cullen is just fine with cougars. We know better tricks than the youngin's anyhow!

Beta-readers are great... until they spork your fics.Melca36 wrote...
My early stuff is kind of cringeworthy. My beta reader has really helped me alot but I know there are far better writers.
I think I evolved when I got out of my Alistair/Cousland stage.
Anyway, the point is that all writers evolve, for as long as they keep writing. I shudder when I reread some of my early stuff, and other parts make me think "You know, that kind of doesn't make me want to vomit."
It's tempting to erase all of it from your hard drive, but it's important to keep it around to remind you of where you've been. And honestly, we're never going to make money off this stuff. All that matters is that we have fun while we're doing it.

Erm, yeah, I would say this happened definitively in DA2. How else do you describe him standing up to Meredith (potentially twice!) except as questioning the basic tenets of his duty and faith? Argh, this one bugs me more than most... I mean, people are welcome to dislike him, but this just seems like they weren't paying attention.LolaLei wrote...
