I need some opinions here. Asunder really sounds interesting and I'm thinking of buying the book. Should I get the others too or will I know whats going on just from playing the games? I bought the ME books and I couldn't finish either of them, I tried and it kinda upset me because I really love the Universe, but I just couldn't get through it. Anyway, just get Asunder or are the other one good books as well?
And what about the comics? I'm not a comic fan, so it really needs to grab my attention for me to get through it.
If you're looking to find out more potential info about DAI then Asunder would definitely be the one to read, because it fills in a few gaps surrounding the whole mage/templar issue.
Agree. Asunder only deals with post DA:O and DA2 things, so doesn't need anything from the other two books. FWIW, most people think Asunder was the best written of the three. It really adds quite a bit to the lore surrounding the start of DA:I, so for that alone, I would personally recommend it. Of the other two, I agree that IMO the Calling was better than ST, which I thought had some major weaknesses.
The very first Orson Scott Card DA:O comic is not a must-read, IMO. I would altogether ignore it, in fact, as most DA fans do. I don't even think it's canon.
The new comics are a very interesting read from a lore stand point (particularly in terms of the dragon lore). They chose a particular canon, with Alistair as King for ex, so that annoys some people. Given that some baddies from the comics showed up in that gameplay video, the comics may have more to do with DA:I than I had originally suspected.
