I am probably too excited about new things we learn about the game to worry about LIs. The DA team does have the advantage in the romance department with female writers to add another perspective when it comes to writing. Though I did find DA2 a bit lacking in that area, its not nowhere near as bad as what happened to Thane in ME3. I do no want that to happened again. And I say ignore the boo-sayers, they're just jealous.

Agreed , this is how i feel about the new male companions idk i just dont feel like i could romance any of those guys, atm, i just dont feel any kind of "attraction" twards any of them   Im sure most of you guys  like  the GW dude but for me even if they are well written there has to be a lil bit  of a phisical attraction there too and not just emotional or whatever .
Anyways i gave my 2 cents of what I thought of the companions so far, a lot of you may not agree with what i have said but thats just how I feel atm  i really hope by the time the game ships I will change my mind

Good point, I always forget about it :] As for DA2, I admit that some aspects of the romances suffered in comparison with DAO (I wish for a bit more interaction in companions' homes & less quest like formula), still I found them equally engaging. From what I have read, Bio folk intend to change it in the direction I like more, so here is for hope

Still, none of them was confirmed as LI so no need to worry in advance ;] As I mentioned earlier, I am certain that there will be at least one male LI that is more mainstream attractive.

Admittedly, I still hope for Cullen as a companion in DAI and probably only hard facts indicating he's not one will have me convinced :] Still, I am very curious about the others cause I tend to get very attached to my team and it's like meeting your future pals for the first time.

On the unrelated note, I have finally decided to play MotA and I am glad I was convinced. I didn't even mind Tallis, though her being a dual wielder is a crappy decision on the devs part imo.

Anyway, the whole setting made me think about Orlais more. Maybe we'll have similar infiltration missions with fan favourites masquerades! I don't know if any of you played Dishonored but one mission in that game, namely Lady Boyle's Last Party, has a neat little mechanic that allows the target of the mission to be one of the three sisters. It is random, which one it is and all three of them (+majority of guests) wear masks. It is by far the best mission in the game, especially that there are many ways of completing it. Would be great if they utilize sth similar in dai. Just thinking about possibilities we might have with different settings and semi-open world makes me happy.

 Hey, everyone! Sorry if I'm missing something directed at me, I returned after being gone a few days to find almost 50 new pages.  (But I totally agree with you in regards to PR speech, raps!)

The new info about combat has me worried, to be frank. I know they've talked about making a game that plays equally well regardless if you favour real-time action or pause n' play, but I honestly don't understand how I'm supposed to do ANY of the stuff they showed in the video with four chars simultaniously. Time will tell, I guess...

Oh, and LI's. I don't think Viv will be one, I'm betting the female ones will be Cass and Sera. As for the male ones, it does seem that we'll have to wait to find out. I agree that both Varric and Qunari dude would be surprising, but the Warden wouldn't shock me if he was. I'm hoping for someone looking a bit sweeter (you know, the concept art of what I think was him, eyes always wide open and arms flailing all over the place). He looks like a grumpy bad ass in the combat scenes, and grumpy hardly ever gets my knickers in a twist.

But it seems we know about three ladies and two gents so far..? Cass, Sera and Viv accompanied by Varric and the Warden. The rest of them are basically as probable as Cullen right now (well, Qunari dude might have an edge atm and so does trident guy). Odds are slim for our boy, I agree, but I'm fairly confident that we'll have someone nice to ease our pain. 

Oh, and if not, there's always some great friendships to be had. Varric and Aveline got me through DA2 when none of the boys managed to do it for me.

On a serious note, I typically fall for sarcastic guys with nice sense of humor in the mix but in da2 I absolutely loved sarcastic Hawke being balanced by more grumpy characters. Probably that's why I love Carver and Fen so much. Though I also love Varric and Issy, and Aveline, and Anders and ... ok, I will restrain myself. Love them all

Edit: But I hope this time they will balance LIs more than last time. I would love one guy to be more light hearted and one more serious/stoic.

I wouldn't worry about the number of warriors, we don't even know how many companions we'll have.

You're spot on, I think. In DAO, both male LI's were funny and sweet. In DA2, they were both rather serious. They all had depth and were well written characters, but I think both games catered to one specific taste respectively and that may not be ideal.

I was going to suggest they give us Nate and Cullen as the perfect combo (you know, just helping), but Cullen isn't really lighthearted NOR is he really grumpy. So, what is he, and what type of LI would compliment him?

LOL This! I had the same difficulty between Anders and Fenris on my first playthrough. Given how thing, ahem, ended I sorta wished I'd chosen Anders first instead of for second playthrough.

I chose Anders for my first playthrough and gosh was I angry at the end with him. I actually yelled at the TV "WTF Anders!".

For my second playthrough I decided to go for Fenris, but silly Hawke had a fling with Isabella which voided his romance so I was stuck with Anders again, lol.

3rd time I did not "enjoy" Isabella and finally got the Fenris romance started and then ... HE LEAVES ME!!! Back then I wasn't a part of the BSN and I played the games without a guide or anything so I thought he really left me and guess what? Anders was there to comfort my Hawke

I eventually looked up the Fenris romance and figured it out, but yeah ... that was fun

For who compliments Cullen ... I see him as a very private and closed up person, who doesn't share his feeling lightly with anyone, so I think a more emotional person, that plays his cards open.

Seeing how dramatic and animated the maybeTrident Guy is in the concept art I could see him being like that. Like after a while he would tell you "Look, I like you, no reason to beat around the bush. Take it or leave it." With Cullen I think you would have to pull it out of his nose, you know, like trick him to finally admit that he likes you. He just seems like a duty first kinda guy to me.

I like this idea. Indeed, I also imagine romancing Cullen will be like getting blood from a stone... at first. But, I'm sure underneath all that stern stuff beats the heart of a hopeless romantic. LOL I hope I get to go in and find it!

Does she know anything about Dragon Age yet?  My almost-5 yr old only knows who Cullen and Hawke are. And, that it has dragons and swords. And templars.
