crap it just hit me that pretty much all the spots are filled and that we might have 9 companions

Mages: Viv , Dorian, Trident dude

Warriors: Cass, Warden, Ironbull

Rogues: Varric , Cole, Sera?

no room for Cullen :(

Well, they were speculating that Dorian is the Trident dude. As for Ironbull, I don't see him being included as a companion (actually I believe he will be a villian) We've certainly seen more proof of Cullen being included in our party than Ironbull. We've seen some screencaps of a scary looking Qunari, but he is always alone.

Personally I think Iron Bull will be a companion. It's Cole that I can't quite get my head around.

well u did make a good point earlier that after the veil rips he might be visible to evreyone?

Do you guys think certain companions will only be recruitable if certain decisions are made/certain factions sided with, etc?

I could see this happening, but at the very least we'd need a guaranteed Warrior, Mage, and Rogue to cover whatever class the Inquisitor isn't.

*Emerges from shadows*

There are twice as many men as women.  Hm... seems strange to me.

well there is scribe girl but we think that she would most likely just hang out in the castle and take care of stuff

Agreed, lets hope there's just more we don't know about or that this list is off somehow?

That would certainly open up the possibility for more companions. It would be kinda like in The Witcher 3 where you can side with either that hot Elf who's name I've forgotten, or Roche and depending on who you side with gives you one or the other as a companion.

I think there might be workarounds (high enough coercion and the like) What might happen is that we have temporary companions throughout the game. While one leaves to take care of their own business (Cass leading the Seekers, GW guy learning what the Wardens are up to, etc) we pick up others to take their place until they too are called away on personal business and they switch out.

Mind you, npc romances wouldn't be worth it anyway since there's no way they'd be as full as companion romances.

Much as I love Cullen, I don't think I would romance him if he was just an NPC romance. There's just something about getting mixed up in battle and things going to hell with your LI that's just so romantic. ;D

Yeah, I totally get that. If I'm gonna romance a character then I want to drag them around everywhere with me so that I don't miss a single interaction or piece of dialogue from them.

...A part of me wants to admit I'm starting to feel more curious about Dorian and his potential than Cullen, but that feels blasphemous.

I would like to drag him all over the place too but i mean if he is not a companion i would settle for a romance npc as i said its better then just being and npc and not do anything like in DA2 and just taunt me like " oh here i am too bad u cant romance me haha" so ya im cool with a romance npc if it will come to that, it may not be the real deal as with a full companion but i willt take what i can get

I have my doubts abt Cole being a companion. No reason, just doubts.

I think everyone in that stabby pic is actually a companion.

So we're missing abt 2 from that pic. My guesstimate at any rate.

I mean, look how shallow the ME2 romances and Traynor/Cortez felt in ME3. It was improved with the Citadel dlc, but it still wasn't anywhere near the in-party companion LIs. I'd be worried that npc romances would feel shallow, especially in comparison to the romanceable companions if they're returning to the DA:O way of interacting.

So am I... and that's concerning! The more companions they reveal/we see popping up on screen, the less likely Cullen as a companion/LI seems, and as such I find myself wondering about the other romanceable companions LOL.

Admittedly, I would prefer they put more into the companion romances than bother with NPC romances (even if that means we miss the oppotunity to romance Cullen). I mean... they have a 'word budget,' so constructing NPC romances would surely take a little away from the companion romances or something else.

well i never played ME so idk how those were but maybe the writters  will be better about it in DAI? Im just hoping for the best anyway also the think with Cullen in DAO i wouldnt really concider that a real romance interaction as it was very little and very breaf i think it was there to kinda give  the mage origin a tiny bit more depth perhaps? idk

I look at the other possible LI's as additional PT material. I mean, unless, Cullen turns out to be....hmmm..and another makes me swoon.

Exactly... unless he's lost his legs or something. Ok, let's not think about that one!

sometimes i just wish one of the devs would just come here and put us out of our misery and just tell us already if he is or not a companion then at least i can freaking sleep at night
