It does seem silly that they've pretty much told us that DA3 is in production... without directly saying it, but still refer to it as "something" or a "hypothetical that they may or maynot be working on", I mean, they've said enough that they might as well just refer to it as DA3.

Ah, the lovely non-disclosure agreement. Honestly, if leaked scripts and the like get canned and re-written, I'd rather they keep their mouths shut and heads down.

I think the problem is that when they announce it they are expected to give a release date (or general estimate) but if they have no idea on this at the moment it makes it difficult to announce.

I've just thought of a really obvious question that I haven't answered yet:

What do you think Cullen's thoughts on the Mage rebellion and Templar rebellion will be?

I think he's seen enough to want the violence to end. Bloodthirsty protagonists on either side are going to turn him off, but if he believes that the protagonist is working to restore order (not necessarily *the* Order), he's going to be only too happy to lend his support, even if the cause they favor is one he might once have considered unacceptable.

Mage rebellion: He's going to be cautious about what he *thinks* will be the increased probability that unfettered mages will instinctively consort with demons, but I could see him getting behind a move to restructure the Circle system. He knows his history. He will know that the Circles were first founded because the mages grew tired of being used by the Chantry as human (and elven) strike-anywhere matches. They were sick of being used like tools, sub-human and without opportunities for betterment. He may see Andural's Reach as a kind of equivalent to that first Circle, mages banding together because they were tired of being used by the Chantry as tools (and pre-warmed sex dolls). I could see him joining them as a way to keep the Andrastian faith alive in them. Because that's what's important to Cullen. He believes in the spirit of the Chant, not necessarily the meaning his brethren have imposed upon it in later years. He's probably realized that "Magic exists to serve man" does *not* mean "Mages exist to be slaves."

Templar rebellion: It probably sickens Cullen to see how quickly his brethren have given in to their bloodlust. He signed on for the "Serve and Protect" aspect. He didn't join because it allowed him to abuse other people and not get in trouble for it. Honestly, I think this one is going to be a tougher sell than the Mage Rebellion scenario. He will feel betrayed. The templars have left the Chantry, something he would consider sacrilege, and are now engaged in a bloody witch hunt. A templar-siding protagonist may have some work to do to convince him that s/he is trying to restore order rather than merely trying to bring back the glory days of templar supremacy.

Berelinde: Good answer! I can see him being disgusted with the Templars that abandon the Chantry. I suspect a lot of those who have abandoned it are going to be Templars that aren't long out of their initation because they don't know any better, lack experience and are likely to be easily lead. I suspect if things take a considerably darker route it'll be the inexperienced ones that are expendable.
