Yup, I'm gathering up info from today. I'm not sure if I'll put this info in with the Game Informer videos, or make a separate one for it. It really depends on what info we get from GI this week.

Dorian (possible appearance in concept art)

One of the things people complained about most vociferously with DA2 was that each NPC had a fixed role in the party. If you didn't like Anders, you had to play a Spirit Healer yourself or do without. If you didn't like Isabela, you either did without a melee rogue or you played one yourself. Etc. But characters like Varric have iconic roles. An easy compromise would be to introduce a third character who didn't have an iconic skillset and allow the player to spec them out however they wanted. Varric will never use any weapon but Bianca, but if you don't like him, no worries, there's somebody else you can spec as an archer.

There's going to be gender parity, I'm sure, so I'd expect either or both of the unspecified followers to be female. They won't both be male.

Anyway, this is rank speculation. It doesn't include the Iron Bull (sorry, moto), but I'm not really sure if he'd fit in a way that would allow Cullen to be there. Given the millions of "Don't make the only healer Anders!" threads that popped up after DA2, I'd be really surprised if they'd be willing to risk having only two mages.

So you don't think Iron Bull will be a companion?

Other than that, I think the list looks sound. I might replace the third mage with Iron Bull... even despite your excellent point about Anders. We've just seen zero indication that there is a third mage character out there somewhere.

Otherwise, Iron Bull would replace Cullen  Who at this point I am seriously doubting is in the game (other than perhaps a small cameo.)

Or maybe the Iron Bull is a rogue? I know you love the guy, but of all of the character concepts we've seen, he was the hardest fit. That said, there might be a rebellion if there weren't a qunari/tal-vashoth, so there you go.

Or he could be DLC. That's what people have been telling me to console me about the fact that we've seen two mages and I like neither. Does it help?

But yeah, I think the functionality of having three per class is a pretty big deal, and I'm not sure it's something they're going to sacrifice. Or they may.

Well, we've seen 5 so far Varric, Cassandra, Vivienne, beardy man and maybe!Sera (3 confirmed and 2 snuck in). But then we have that picture of the "companion inventory" thing which shows Scribe girl and trident guy. So, presuming that companion inventory picture isn't obsolete we have 7 accounted for:

Varric
Cassandra
Vivienne
Beardy man (possibly the GW)
Maybe!Sera
Scribe girl
Trident Guy

Which leaves us with two spaces. Personally I believe that Iron Bull is one of them because not only does that Qunari dude keep popping up all over the place, but he's also in that picture of the Inquisitor and the Elf with the cool mohawk-braid. That leaves us with 1 place left. Now, it could go to Cole (although I don't know how he could be implemented properly, what with the disappearing thing etc), so I'm gonna guess that the chilled out Elf dude is the 9th companion.

However, there is now talk of agents working for us. So I guess it could be possible that some of those listed in the survey leak could be major npcs or even agents? But I think until we've heard more about how we "use" these agents, why we need them to do quests for us, and who they are (if anyone important) then it's anyones guess. Either way, you can bet your arse that more of the companions are gonna end up sneaking into the videos lol.
