Or maybe the Iron Bull is a rogue? I know you love the guy, but of all of the character concepts we've seen, he was the hardest fit. That said, there might be a rebellion if there weren't a qunari/tal-vashoth, so there you go.

Hmm I'm actually not a huge Iron Bull fan. His description turns me off a little. I was hoping for a more stoic qunari, someone like Sten or Maraas. I wouldn't be broken up about it if Iron Bull weren't a companion... but I would start to worry if Cullen also weren't a companion, cause I'm not sure who I'd romance at this point. No one looks appealing, except MAYBE the Gray Warden.

However, there is now talk of agents working for us. So I guess it could be possible that some of those listed in the survey leak could be major npcs or even agents? But I think until we've heard more about how we "use" these agents, why we need them to do quests for us, and who they are (if anyone important) then it's anyones guess. Either way, you can bet your arse that more of the companions are gonna end up sneaking into the videos lol.

I thought of this, too! I think Morrigan will be an agent since the camera panned towards her when this was mentioned. Iron Bull could also be one of those agents. Leliana is an obvious one. Sadly I feel (and immediately thought this) that Cullen could also be an agent. This means he wouldn't be a companion, and would not be romanceable.

Mind you, if those people in the "stabby Inquisitor" picture aren't companions, then what the feck are they doing in our stronghold with the rest of our companions?

I dunno; that seems to be the problem with concept art. Maybe they were intended to be companions at one time, but ultimately some did not make the cut. But the concept art is still here.

Notable NPCs, advisors, and agents. We are said to have agents we can dispatch to settle things.

Also, thinking about the bearded guy behind and between Cassandra and "Cullen," is it just me, or does he look awfully thin to be a warrior? I'm not sure he is Grey Warden dude. I know folks said Trident Guy, but Trident Guy was pretty dark-skinned, and this guy looks like milk. Lighting? Maybe. Concept art? Of course. But I'm not sure everybody is who we think they are.

Wouldn't it be funny if Iron Bull was actually the Day One DLC character? And they just keep showing him without mentioning it, to throw people off?

I was just day dreaming about Iron Bull turning out to be an escaped saarebas.

David Gaider said that he wasn't a fan of writing romances for non-companions, but who knows? Was it a success in ME3?

I've heard that some ppl enjoyed them they may not be major romances as it would be for a full companions but personally i will take what i can get at this point if it means there is a decent character.  Im not really picky on how big the romances are , as long as i like the character, also not all characters are written by DG  for example Cullen is written by Helper, also  there is another  thing that  not ALL companions may be romanceable  so maybe we could catch a lil break with some of the agents?

ME3 is a sore point since the two non-companion romances were "the gay options."

However, I would say that Steve's romance was probably pretty well done. I haven't done it really, but I've watched all the important videos. (Stop it! I'm not a perv! I haven't watched the actual love scene b/c I figure it's the same as all the others lol) Plus Steve will get off the Normandy and you can encounter him several times on the Citadel, AND he is your pilot, so you see him during missions.

Traynor is different, I think. Does she EVER leave the Normandy? And people complained about her romance, IIRC

Y'know, that Morrigan thing is interesting because in the video we actually saw the area she's standing in whilst they were talking about our strongholds and agents who we could send out to do quests. I wonder if maybe she really is an agent, or some sort of "helper" to the cause.

Well, moto, looks as if you got your wish about qunari dude.

http://social.biowar...x/17182470&lf=8

I'm really, really hoping we don't wind up with only two mages as a result of this. That would make for a really unhappy berelinde. Please don't say "There's always DLC."

If Cole is in the game, they may be considering him a mage rather than a rogue.

Don't know if that's helpful or not. Image IPB

I'm not sure I really understand his response *scratches head*  What was my wish about qunari dude again? LOL And how does this fulfill it? (Sorry, sooo tired after a long work day. And also just typed up a very thoughtful and carefully worded response to DG in the DA3 forum)

Not.

The qunari dude is problematic for me for a number of reasons. The alcoholism. The brutishness. The vulgarity. Ick.

Cole is problematic for different reasons, most of them having to do with hygiene.

What I really want is a nice, laid back, chill mage. Preferably a male human one, but that may be a little too specific. Catering to a diva is exhausting. Dorian may surprise me, but his description sounded kinda generic. Plus, if that bald elf dude is him... uh... no.

But, we don't know. Even concept art and concepts may have changed. Cole may not even be on the table.

I'm betting that guy with the pointy beard in the stabby inquisitor concept art is a mage. Or at least I hope so. Maybe it is trident guy! He looks pale compared to his concept art, but then again, Sera's concept art is blond. Who knows? And nobody said mage staves have to look like Gandalf's Energizer tree branch.

I'm still confused. What is DG actually confirming in that response? Is he saying Iron Bull is definitely a character? I'm honestly confused.

If you look at the concept art with the inquisitor wearing a blue seeker-looking outfit, you'll see two characters, an elf with a long, braided mohawk and a qunari in the lower-right corner of the shot. They match up with two of the concept art characters from an early DA2 video. David Gaider said that they matched up with companions, so they decided to use the appearances.

A while ago, you said you really liked the Iron Bull, but you seem to have gone off him a bit lately.

I don't have *serious* objections to him, but I wouldn't really want him to take a party slot from somebody I'd like more. If Cullen is in, there are two warriors I like, him and Cassandra. With Varric, I know I'll like at least one of the rogues. But I'm not getting a lot of good feels about the mages, so that's where most of my more anxious watching and waiting is going on.

So is he saying that the girl with the braid and the qunari man are definitely Sera and Iron Bull?

Gotcha. Based on your comment I misunderstood. I thought your concern was that there would only be two mages in the party.

It was a great post, mmg. I especially liked the part where you reminded DG how much he believes in diversity, without actually being snarky or ironic. I think his honest intentions are to be inclusive, and yet a part of him defaults to the *normal* industry standards. I'm glad you brought it up in such a respectful way. Image IPB

If I thought that were likely, it would be worrying. But I'm pretty sure we're going to get a 3/3/3 breakdown, for the same reason I'm pretty sure we're going to get balanced romance options by both gender and orientation. David Gaider must be ready to burst a blood vessel over the "Why is Anders the only healer?" threads.

And yeah, moto, that was a great post. Thanks for going there and doing that. I've kind of shied away from it out of cowardice. I get passionate about it and then I phrase things poorly and it all comes out wrong. You did a great job.

Thanks ^_^ Well I can't even address DG without quaking in my boots. I so look up to him. I could never speak to him disrespectfully. I actually think I have as one of my "people I admire" on my FB page lol *creepy fangirl mode... run, David, run!*

Thanks :D Lucky for me, when I get truly passionate about something, I go into deep analytical mode rather than angry fangirl mode LOL!

I *think* so.

It may be more accurate to say that at the time the concept art with the Seeker-clad inquisitor was made, the companions included a dual-wielding elf who looked like mohawk lady and a qunari who looked like axe-man. If that hasn't changed since then, those two are in.
