Maybe "companion" and "agent" are not mutually exclusive identities? But given the fact that Iron Bull's character description says that he prefers to work alone, the and the fact that depictions of him are almost exclusively single-character shots, I'm leaning toward "agent" with him. Plus, the one time he's shown with other characters in the frame, it's in a scene where it looks as if people are reporting mission success to a superior.
Ooooo, good point!

Yes, MLaw definitely said plural "agents" so there's no reason for thinking there's only one.LolaLei wrote...

Yeah, I think berelinde is on to something here. The way agents were described, contrasting it with how normally we, the PC, are the agent... it almost sounds like the Inquisitor will be a sort of Quest giver, almost. Then, Iron Bull, Cullen, huh Morrigan?, could be agents working on various tasks we need to build up our world-wide organization.LolaLei wrote...

Well, if that's the case it'll be interesting being the one giving Cullen quests instead LOL! Especially if you play as a mage!

i kind of mentioned before that the braided elf girl and the Iron bull might be agents but yea it looks like we might be quest givers from time to time like in Assassins creed where u send out ur agens to do stuff fro you and bring money or whatever
It'll probably be a bit more detailed than that, otherwise there wouldn't be any point of having them. Refering back to the survive leak it said we could send people into the shadows to snoop around, go in all guns blazing, blackmail etc, so chances are the agents will be doing things like that on our command.
As for braided elf girl, I don't want to look into too much detail with her. She could literally just be in that picture to look badass, rather than her actually being a character.

I wouldn't read too much into it. The most vocal posters on the DAI forum are violently anti-Cullen, so this may be wishful thinking on their part.ag99 wrote...

Think about it. Who do we have for male companions?
Varric
Dorian (elf magister)
Grey Warden guy (attractive, but a little long in the tooth for widespread appeal*)
You're going to have 2 romanceable males. It will happen. I'm finding the following scenarios unlikely:
- dwarf & elf
- dwarf & "mature" human
- elf & "mature" human
- anything & qunari
You really need a more "mainstream" human male. Sure, it's possible there's another human male in the lineup we know nothing about, but I am having trouble believing that they're going to make the only romanceable males "exotic".
*I'm not saying he's unattractive! I'd be on him in a heartbeat! But I'm 46. Your "average" player may not be so willing to accept a guy who looks like he could be the protagonist's dad. Of course, that assumes a 20-something protagonist. If the protagonist is in his or her mid-thirties, everything changes... except that it doesn't. They're still pitching this game to a 20-something audience, so the characters have to appeal to the viewer, not necessarily to the PC. Not everyone roleplays immersively enough to ignore superficial traits.

No, the shot with the figure in blue/blue-lit black Seeker armor kneeling and mohawk elf chick and qunari dude in the foreground. If I were going to caption that shot, I'd put "It was a complete rout, my lady. The fortress is ours."R2s Muse wrote...
On the kneeling fig... not sure I know which one you're talking about. Do you mean the bound, bald headed fig...?
Edit: I don't have the image in front of me and I've got to go do stuff in the lab for a while, so I can't link an image.

Yea the braided elf girl might be put there for "effect" but if they gonna do similar things with the agens like in AC we might not get to see them all that much let alone having a "full" conversation with them as you guys pointed some things out like some of the armor and stuff it looks like they took a lil bit from AC as well as Skyrum so im not sure how the whole agent thing is gonna play out im just hoping its not gonna be only " hey u go do this and leave me alone" type of thing

Ah, OK. Yeah... I guess that really looks like a dude to me in the cloak. It's a seeker symbol instead of the Inquisition symbol... but like I've said before, they tend to sprinkle that one around in the concept art which may or may not mean anything. The latest version of the Inquisition logo is new, so may only have been finalized later than these, or something like that.berelinde wrote...

Now, I can't be sure that this means that this particular ballroom IS Halamshiral. Just that there appears to be a Halamshiral something in the game from what we can see.

The Inquisitor, Lola. Possibly the one being inducted in Matt Rhode's concept art. And I'm betting that's Cassandra. It's definitely a Seeker emblem on her cloak, not an Inquisition one.
Man, we must be really important to have all those guards standing to attention like that. I think I'm gonna have my Inquisitor be a little more low-key than that, LOL!

R2, here is the Halamshiral clue in question (taken from your excellent screen shot from yesterday!!)
Now, I can't be sure that this means that this particular ballroom IS Halamshiral. Just that there appears to be a Halamshiral something in the game from what we can see.
I'm also wondering if all those game assets refer to this particular pic, tho. One of them looks like "..._Intro_to_wilds_something" and under the Type column says, "Convo"? (about four lines under shiral_) ?

Hmm, I would wonder why they would put Cassandra in a formless cloak and hood, tho, given that she's one of the most recognizable characters so far... Well, personally, I really think it looks like a dude, and so probably our Inquisitor. My own guess would be celebrating some victory or something, since you already have your posse at your back.LolaLei wrote...

But, like Lola said earlier, the similarity of this lady with that old, old DA2 art could mean this is also relatively old in the concept development process.

Yes, let it be known unto all that I am only saying this "may" be Halamshiral! (the palace, not the word. That I'm almost positive about)
Not all of my speculations and the clues I gather are meant to be hard and fast headcanons. LET IT BE KNOWN.
... but "Into the Wilds" huh? Now THAT is also interesting...!

This is my thinking too, actually. I, personally, would have absolutely nothing against any of the males we've seen so far, but I feel when it comes LI options Bioware is most likely to pick:
Chill McSmugson elf/Maybe!Dorian, and a human we haven't seen yet. I want to think that could be Cullen, of course, but there's also Cole to consider... or someone completely new... or Tridan Guy/Flaily Hand Guy.
(Cole is definitely not mainstream, though. Flaily Hand Guy might be if he's still in... and then there's the possibility of someone completely new. Vivienne wasn't in the leak at all, was she?)
