Ah, I see. I thought the tilt of the head and gold clothing indicated it was Scribe Girl, but you guys say it's definitely Vivienne. Damn.

Mmmm... the icon on the screen is Vivienne... I think the concept art girl could be scribe girl. Harder to say, since it's just half her face.

Hey Cullen fans.

Since you all are so great at speculating, have any of you noticed that a Cole thread in the DA:I forum has been stickied to the top of the page?
I wonder if that was some sort of mistake on the part of the mods, or intentional.
I'm going to assume that this means Cole will be involved in the game somehow.

I did notice that, actually! If it wasn't a mistake, I imagine it definitely means Cole will be involved some way and the Devs want to encourage discussion. I'm still on the fence over whether or not Cole will be a companion, though, mostly because of his... special circumstances. I could definitely see him as a story heavy NPC or something, though.

Hi KiddDABeauty. I recognize you from somewhere or another. Anyways.

Do you think Cassandra might be a temporary companion and then be one of those guys you send out on missions? I don't know what they are called but it sounds important.

I'm not convinced that the two will be mutually exclusive. Obviously, Cassandra is intended to be a plot-heavy character and her role will be prominent. She is also a capable leader, so I would not be surprised if the protagonist were allowed to delegate missions to her.

When I read about the "agents," I always think about that kind of intermission the DAO endgame had, where the gameplay shifted to the companions who were left behind to hold the gates. In other words, I wonder if we'll be controlling different characters during their missions rather than just sending 'em out and waiting for the progress reports. It could be fun! A steady diet of it would probably make us feel less connected to our PCs, but for a quest or two, it might be fun to step inside somebody else's head. I'm no Leliana fan, but I actually enjoyed Leliana's Song because it gave me a glimpse of what she was like before she found religion. Which kinda made me sad because I really liked her better that way, but that's a story for another day.

Of course, I also think about some of the hilarious results if you ask an unsuitable companion to interact with the widows during the Blackstone Regulars quest. Perhaps some agents will handle some tasks better than others.

Was actually thinking the same thing.

Another thought was, was it just speculation on our part or did one of the DEVs mention that someone would betray us? Perhaps when we send the wrong person on a mission, they end up back stabbing us? That'd be crazy/cool.

Now that more concept art is being released I'm allowed to post a few things. Many of these images are used to explore major themes, capture the spirit of in-game moments or remain purely speculative. In this one, the player (holding the flag) is being made Inquisitor.

I like this shot. A black, female inquisitor being inaugurated and bowed to by the left hand of the Divine? Pretty cool methinks.

Definitely, most interesting thought! =)

I always assumed the agents would be more similar to the orders being given during the Suicide Mission in ME2, only this time it will effect the main plot more than simply deciding who lives and who dies.

Probably a mistake, I think. Otherwise there should have been somebody posting in there. You don't just go into a thread and sticky it then leave it... right? :?

Hmmm, again how are we being christened "the Inquisitor" by the Divine (?) and yet are in opposition of the Chantry? Maybe she gives us free access? Do as you will with us....or something like that. I'm also wondering how much politicking we'll be doing

I think opposition could mean... Hmm...

Well, we know we're not working FOR them. The Chantry isn't what is sending us out on missions and the like. Instead we're an independent power who will be, at some point, looking through their dirty laundry/at the skeletons in their closet. I can see why the Chantry might rather dislike us because of that. That doesn't mean the Divine, herself, will be against us, though. She could be... not cool with what we're doing but understand that it needs to be done?

Alternatively, maybe us being in opposition to the Chantry comes later? Maybe they start out thinking we're going to investigate everything but them, but then our investigation leads to their doorstep and that's when things start to become hairy...

Hiya,
So I've been in a totally silly mood this evening while I've been waiting for my lemon tart to bake and I'm guessing you're all up on the excitement created by the concept art hat image shown recently (which by the way Cullen would look mighty fine in, I think  Image IPB)
Anyways, I got to thinking how traditionally the mage hats are just yikes and this is what I came up with.........don't judge me too harshly.  Image IPB

About the coronation art. (We were told it is actually an announcement scene). I still think it's the Chantry announcing that they give the Inquisition Authority. Please don't be angry with me again. :(

The Inquisition is formed in opposition to the Chantry's wishes. But they realize that due to the world situation it is needed and they submit. (Insert Cartman meme)

That screenshot raises so many questions. I wonder how we will become the Inquisitor. I know we'll survive that veil rip etc. etc., but still there has to be a moment that you take that immense power.

After all, the devs said that you'll be able to go on a ruthless pursuit (and you have the likes of Cassandra and Varric helping you). So what is it that makes the Inquisitor special? Why not the Hero of Orlais (Cassandra)?

Will we see parts in the Fade that none have witnessed in a long time during that veil rip? Will that extra information be the final push that makes us the Inquisitor?

How will other factions react to the Inquisition?
Aren't there other power hungry individuals out there that want to seize power?
Why should I have it and not them? What makes me different?

---> This is just some random speculation that's currently going on in my head ... =D

I am curious about it too. It seems that we'll become the Inquisitor quite early in the game and this position appears to grant quite a lot of power. The only analogy I can think of is becoming a Spectre in ME, still they didn't have an army bowing to them. I just wander whether they will use something like an old prophecy or our character will have some special ability (a la dovakiin dragon soul sucking), or maybe s/he will come from some special family (like Cassandra from dragon slayers), or s/he will do something exceptional at the start of the game (not counting the sole survivng thing). I never thought that our pc's "specialness" could be somehow associated with veil rip but that's is definitely something to ponder... What could happen in the fade then? An who's the main villain. Maybe the knowledge regarding the latter will grant us the priviledge.

Tbh I am more anxious about our protag than all companions in the world...

On the unrelated note, while I'm digging through the Asunder, after reading the scene in the Inn where some random folk was more than wary of the mages, I realized that I would like to see it in the Inquisition. Not that it would be pleasant yet it would show how the average folk reacts to them. So far we were only told how common people are afraid of magic and yet everyone was keen and helpful in the past two games and I never felt that generally people had anything against magic and that mages were feared, or at least not trusted.

That's interesting... and quite unusual O.o I actually would like Cole to be involved in the story, don'mind him being companion. So far I find his existence quite fascinating. In the past I thought that it would be tricky to make him a companion due to his invisibility but maybe with the veil rip something will change that or maybe our protag would be able to see him. Although why did he get special treatment on forum is puzzling...
