So has anyone asked Greg Ellis on his take on the GI article and/or the videos being released this month?

I'm sure he must have chuckled at the "certain fan-favorite Knight-Captain" reference.

I wonder if he even knows how much controversy his character has caused, LOL!

Link is dead now, but I always liked DA: Apocrypha

I think I'm the only one that did :B

it's a fun word  for me to say.

Huh. Curious. The thread must have turned nasty I guess. Too bad. I forget the title now, but the OP asked basically, why the hell they named it Inquisition since they obviously knew the name already had so much baggage, which is there regardless of their intentions in-world. DG said something like there are more upsides than downsides, and the name is just cool. That worrying about things like this is the reason there are so many boring names out there. LOL He then went on to say that if you can't figure out why they named it that within the first hour of playing, then there's something wrong with you/you need to get out more/something not terribly flattering.

But, agree that Apocrypha would have been a cool name, too.

LOL Yeah, I would honestly be surprised if he's even aware of that reference in the article. He may not even know it came out... Cullen seems to be such a small part of his oeuvre.

Apocrypha sounds more mysterious, but I guess a lot of people wouldn't be able to prounounce it correctly. Hell, I'm not even sure if I'm pronouncing it correctly as it is!

Indeed. I suppose, given the little we know, Inquisition sounds like a no brainer since that's our organization. But Apocrypha is certainly tantalizing... particularly given the dissonant verses of the Chant they've quoted. Could it represent long lost knowledge the Chantry wants to suppress deny (*cough*Andraste was a mage*cough*), or could it be more metaphorical, in the sense that the work we do as Inquisitor is outside of the Chantry so in some sense non-canonical...?

Well, since it's my birthday next week and don't ask how old I'll be, I decided to throw caution to the wind - and officially start working on my seniors-do-the-darndest-things ID card - by tweeting Mr. Ellis:

So a certain 'fan-favorite Knight-Captain' may show up in Dragon Age Inquisition. The suspense is killing me. I hope it lasts. :D

I'll let y'all know if I get a response. Image IPB

So here's something interesting. I just saw the following on Matt Rhodes's tumblr, confirming this pic is the Dales.... which includes Halamshiral... and is where Cassandra stabbed the map... Hmm...

"DA:I - The Dales
This was one of the first concept images released for Inquisition. When we first started seeing what Frostbite could handle we began experimenting with larger scale locations like this."

That place looks awesome. I hope we get to meet a huge clan of Dalish elves, and actually get to go inside an aravel. Some of them look really big.

That would make being an elf pretty interesting

Didn't Fenris say in DA2 that the Dalish clans were getting ready for their Arlathvhen? Seeing as many elves as the eye can see
Probably get mauled as a human

First of all: awesome that he responded.

Second, I'd say: Oh you know, the adorable Knight Captain that made his crazed Comamnder step down before she slaughtered the Champion of Kirkwall. XD Terribly minor character. Barely noticable. /sarcasm

LOL He could be playing coy, like he does whenever we mention Cullen due to his faux pas last year with the VO session. Oooor, he could might actually not know who you're talking about. Heh. That probably doesn't bode well.

If he genuinely doesn't know, it might not be as surprising as you might think? Maybe he doesn't remember the character by his rank/just remembers Cullen by name? Especially when he's voiced so many characters.

I imagine they can all get quite difficult to keep track of after so many...

Heh, Dirgegun, agree. Particularly if he's no longer a knight-captain. *eyebrow waggle* hmm
