No, that wasn't what I was talking about. It was in a recent thread on the DAI forum. I'll see if I can find it and report back.

The thread is gone. It was in a thread that had a lot of speculation about Vivienne. It turned into a discussion about writing different characters and other names were mentioned, like Grey Warden dude and Sera. I posted in the thread early on, but it seems to have been deleted. Maybe somebody said too much?R2s Muse wrote...

Since I can't provide proof, I'm going to have to retract the statement.

Huh. Do you recall if it sounded like this was a recent statement from the writers...? Or could someone have been quoting Tonia's tweet from ages ago, interpreting it to be GW dude? I mean at the time, last August, the cirumstantial evidence (including the GE tweet) was pretty strong that it was Cullen. But... then Tonia left. And all the assumptions we made about the timing of the writing and the VO sessions were totally wrong, given the new release date and everything. So who knows at this point! Huh. I wonder if it could have been GW dude after all... <_<berelinde wrote...

Man... I dunno. I was just reading it over again. Could it be GW dude? Could he be the "dreamy" one, with an "English accent", that she's the "most excited about." Watching her tumblr, I see lots of Cullen, also a little territorialism with Alistair. But this could be a completely new character, I suppose, who just happened to be in the VO booth the same day as Greg Ellis doing Cullen...?LolaLei wrote...

Just wondering, are you going to leave it at that, or are you going to push him a little more? Maybe provide details on what the article said about Cullen, so he has some idea? He might just be playing dumb, or as other people said, maybe he really doesn't recall Cullen's position.

I thought Cullen had a dreamy English accent, but... I guess there are others who have dreamy English accents.

"One of the biggest misconceptions that players have is that BioWare wants them to like all the party members. Players often feel like they’re doing something wrong if they can’t get everyone’s approval rating up. “We don’t put everyone in the party so you can like them all,” Kristjanson says. “Some people get very, very concerned about, ‘How do I make all these people like me?’ Well, that’s part of it, but part of it is also you making the decisions you want to make and suffering the weight of those decisions, even in the people closest to you.”"
My big concern with going back to DA:O style approval is that I worry about losing my spirit healer if I tell Awakenings!Anders that I like the Circle system. So I end up metagaming the crap out of it so I don't end up a man short. For all its weaknesses, DA2's system at least let me respectfully disagree and not lose them altogether. The statement above concerns me a bit, that I could risk losing my companions again.
Of course, if I'm a raving blood mage, I suppose I should expect somebody like Cullen to have a problem with it. Maybe even leave my party eventually. So I don't know. I guess I'm torn. I could see perhaps more extreme conflicts being potential cause to lose someone, but I don't want to just be a yes-man with my companions about every little thing.

It is odd about the deleted threads. There have been a lot of them, and many have not even been controversial. That "game name" thread wasn't. And there was a thread today with an empty lead post that the OP swears he never made. Glitchy forum software?

But that being said, I believe that this is a false alarm. I think I found the post you're referring to berelinde, and my thought is that ElitePinecone is just remembering it incorrectly.R2s Muse wrote...
Yeah, it was Tonia Laird in that long exchange with Cori May that actually sounded like they were writing Cullen. I don't believe there's been any indication that it was related to beardy Grey Warden dude, Mary Kirby or Sheryl Chee. So another chicken not yet hatched...

I think the Grey Warden is meant to be an older character (was it Sheryl or Mary that mentioned they were

No, just me misremembering where I saw what. My memory is a really dodgy thing, it seems. I can visually recall something with nearly perfect accuracy, down to position on the page, avatar image, and everything... and then find out my brain made the whole thing up.R2s Muse wrote...

Thanks, R2, I'm now following her on tumblr because having Cullen, Alistair, and Richard Armitage on one's dash is *never* unpleasant.
And with that, I'm off for home and maybe some DA2. The first time I've had 2 days off in the same week in about 6 months, and I'm really looking forward to it.

Yep, one more week, which ends around the time that PAX Prime begins. During which we'll likely get a little more information from the panel there. Beyond that I guess there could be some press coverage and stuff, but I'd presume that by mid-September we'll be back in the drought phase until next year, lol.
