So in the castle pic the rocks she's standing on are covered in carvings of some sort, kind of like hieroglyphics ( I have literally no idea how to spell that word!). They've got to have some meaning, why else bother drawing such a small detail in.

yeah, I saw that. Idk what that's abt. I would think it has meaning. But idk if it was just somehting that they thought looked cool, or not.

I just don't know. I would luv for it to actually have meaning, and perhaps......set off sum grand hieroglyphic meaning scavenger hunt for the fans!

But w/out knowing if those symbols are of any import, that's alot of energy for a red herring.

However, I'm gonna try and take a closer look......

And he's put them on the shiniest part of the picture, which means they are quite prominent.....why? Dwarves runes, ancient graffiti, Matt Rhodes messing with our heads?

Hmm, I took a closer look. I can't find an anchor in them. They kinda look like cool looking scribbles. I hope I'm so wrong, cuz that would be a great lil hunt. And frankly, they should mean something.

They should. W/the light and prominence, but it's beyond me. I can't find a hook.

The GI article was pretty good. I do like those kinda articles. The thinking behind character implementation.

I'm glad Varric wasn't sleazy. I needed his sane, philosophical stance in DA2. I hope he's not too changed in DAI. That's what I worry abt. w/Varric. It seems he's been thru sum stuff, so I don't expect him to be the same. I just hope his nature isn't too different. Cuz I have a feeling I'm gonna need that anchor in DAI.

Everything my sister ever lectured me about (she is an artist and did her honors in art history) tells me those carvings have meaning. Proportionally they are massive and he's stuck a great big shining light on them. I'm feeling really dense and quite frankly a bit peeved with my brain. If it really was just the artist thinking that that rock needs a little window dressing, I may become hostile! I hate puzzles, well actually I LOVE puzzles....AFTER they're solved.

So here's something interesting. I just saw the following on Matt Rhodes's tumblr,confirming this pic is the Dales.... which includes Halamshiral... and is where Cassandra stabbed the map... Hmm...

This is awesome.

I noticed in this pic that there are some runes carved into that stone that reminded me of the ones painted on the stones in this pic. I wonder if this is a different location altogether or if this may be the Dales/Halamshiral and they've just changed the design a bit?

Is it wrong for me to hope that it comes out Dec 2014? If it comes out during actual Fall, I know I'll be way too busy with work to play it. I mean REALLY play it. But if I'm off work, I can sit down in front of the TV and not come up for days.... lol

LOL - if anything, I think when the "Fall 2014" part shows up in an upcoming trailer, suddenly there will be a red slash crossing out the date accompanied by the sound of a slashing sword and then the words "Spring 2014" will appear.

It's BioWare, folks. They love doing stuff like this to their fans.

R2muse - That is a great catch. They look different more sweepy/swirly but the medium is different too, carved/scratched vs paint which would account for that.

So either Matt Rhodes never saw a rock he didn't want to draw on or there's some kind of theme happening. They look old, really old....makes me think of elves...

I've been window shopping too. My graphic card is already outdated. "Dear Santa, I haven't technically been a good girl this year but I find that to be more of a guideline than an actual rule..."

Honestly, I wouldn't mind that. Just gives me more time to build my gaming PC.

Funny, the more people hold up the Witcher as the standard to which all RPGs must aspire the more I dislike it! Look it may well be the best game in a fantasy setting ever made, I don't know 'cause I couldn't get through more than the first 10 minutes of it but the predefined nature of the protagonist makes it RPG-lite to me.

The Witcher I've never hated a game I haven't played more!

They're still comparing the two games when neither have even come out yet? Ridiculous. If anything, with all this latest information from DAI, the game couldn't be any different from The Witcher 3 if it tried. 

The only similarities is both are in a medieval-esc setting, there are Elves and Dwarves, and both Geralt and the Inquisitor get to ride around on a mounts (which is to be expected with games that are more open world). Beyond that the stories are both completely different, as is everything else.
