Personally, I think they're going to go with some kind of saved-game generator. Maybe they'll check your registered games to make sure you aren't pulling them out of your butt, but there are too many variables (platform, build, etc) to try to make some kind of save cloud work.

I can't imagine why it would matter if  you owned the games or not, though. I figure, why not just let you choose your world state if you want? That was something I liked about the ME2 genesis comic. I later ended up buying ME1, but at the time, I just wanted to play ME2 and it served as an intro to the "story so far" and let me choose the big choices, like Ash v Kaidan, etc.

Start at the beginning and work your way through, they're not going to make an awful lot of sense if you pick one up at random. They're not dear and you can get them on Dark Horse for your PC/devices. The first is the Silent Grove (and I think it's the best of the series by a fairly considerable margin.).

Thanks! Somebody told me that I should start with The World Of Thedas but I wasn't so sure. So I'll start with the Silent Grove and work my way up. Thanks again Goldring. 

The World of Thedas is an encyclopedia, not a comic. It's a great read and invaluable to any true lover of DA lore, but it doesn't contain anything you won't find on the wiki. If you can fit it into your budget, it's good to have, especially for keeping track of dates and random pieces of trivia, but you don't really need it to be well informed. Although it does thave art, so that may be worth the price of the book by itself, depending on your point of view.

Thanks for the tip. I'll probably buy The World of Thedas too, it'll give me something to read while i'm on the train  to school. 

I second the WoT purchase! Granted, a lot of it has been added to the wiki... but there's nothing like reading the accounts first hand (esp since the wiki frowns on verbatim copying). I still love mine. Sometimes I just stroke the cover. <3

On the comics, didn't chime in before, since I think I've said this exact same thing before... but FWIW, there is a DA:O comic, that isn't really canon and I, personally, wouldn't really recommend it. It's authored by Orson Scott Card.  The comics  you do want are the most recent, David Gaider- written ones. The first series is Silent Grove (1-6), then Those Who Speak (1-3), and finally Until We Sleep (1-3). I believe all of them are available in hardcover graphic novels now, or you can get them (more cheaply) digitally from DarkHorse. Agree with Goldring's recommendation; they're worth a read.

I have a thought on the whole sole survivor thing.

My guess is that it has something to do with Flemeth. If Inquisition keeps with the previous games, my guess is we get rescued via Flemeth. In DA:O Alistair and I survived Ostagar because of Flemeth, and in DA2 we survive Loathering because of Flemeth.

Just a thought.

That Nug pic is coming from the clip they're showing at Gamescom. It is a wyvern or huge lizard ( I don't think it had wings) next to it, then the camera fans out more and you see more of the Gazelle's and some felines with huge ears and at the end you get the scene with the dragon at the watering hole. They said that they used this to test the level, as fas as I understood it. I'm pretty sure they said thats what the game looks like.

sigh. the money might be prohibitive--airplane costs; hotels..eesh..

It's just occurred to me that despite playing DA2 hundreds of times, I've never thought to visit the Hanged Man at night time... can you even do that?

I wonder if I've missed out anything by never thinking to do it?

Maybe it's just because I've gotta gather up all the info every other day, and then make videos about it every weekend for this whole month, not to mention the Gamescom dev diary surprise, the PAX Panel coming up, and other stuff, but I feel like I'm going into an overload meltdown over here, LOL!

You are gathering all the info for your videos, so I can imagine you're overwhelmed! It's hard work gathering it all and riffling through what is most notable. I had to do that for my essays in college...I really loved it, despite it also being very exhausting! Keep it up! Your vids are great. 

What I like about the info is they aren't giving a whole lot away. They are telling us and showing us what to expect, but everything else continues to be guarded like a jealous lover. But I wouldn't mind having a list of companions and LIs, k thnx bye.

Yeah, it's funny because when you lay out what they've actually told us, the first batch in the game informer article was a decent chunk, but everything else since has been them rewording the same info, with the odd little tidbit thrown in here and there. However, what really contains the bulk of the information is what they're actually showing us in the concept art and in-game assets that pop up in the videos (be it purposely or accidental). And that's what takes up a lot of time, because it all needs dissecting and elaborating on further.

I keep thinking that there can't be an awful lot left to tell us about, but really there must still be loads since everything they have spoken about has only skimmed over the surface.

I know for sure that if you saved Amaranthine in Awakening, and go to the Hanged Man at night there is a quest from a woman there to eavesdrop and kill this group of conspiritors against the Wardens/Amaranthine. That's the only one I know of that only appears at night.

I'm still curious when the whole "fan favorite Knight Captain" thing will come up this week. There hasn't been any word that he will be showing up so this week they HAVE to say something about him. That's something to look forward to. They already spoke about the part where Leliana will be making a appearance. I don't know what topic they will be talking about him under though...
