Yeah, this is what I was thinking, too. If they didn't mention him in the templar article, I think we're done with real Cullen info. What's funny is... we probably shouldn't even wish for Cullen info at this point, since MLaw said we won't get more companion info til next year. So if they talk about Cullen now, it could be because he's just an NPC.LolaLei wrote...
We'll be lucky if they mention him again, and if they do it'll probably just be a brief nod or obscure reference.

Yeah. It also sounded like we can expect info on save imports at PAX Prime? Trying to recall where I got that impression.meanieweenie wrote...
This week I'll predict they talk about weapons, skill trees and creatures / animals. Ooo! Or cosplay. A whole bunch of stuff that will be cool to look at but answer nothing. lol

I'm actually really curious about the skill trees! There was a definite improvement from DA:Origins (so many useless abilities to hack through!) And I like that they are limiting us to one spec this time around. I always felt way too goofy having my PC be like 3 diff specs in Origins/Awakening. I hope they are sticking w/ the idea that while we're limited to one spec, there will be more reactivity in-game to that spec that we pick. For example, Anders not reacting at all if you decide to be a templar spec in DA2. Whaaaa!?!

Agree. I hope there are fewer useless skills this time, or at least useless to me the way I played it. I'm sure it's hard for them to get a balance of what people want to play, but it was nice to be able to bypass some of them in DA2. And, reactivity to the spec will be awesome. It might actually make me interested in a blood mage playthrough. For science!littlenikki wrote...

I've never been able to play a blood mage either. Mostly because of how my LIs would react for starters, even if it didn't actually happen in-game. Knowing that Alistair or Fenris would find my character evil and corrupt was enough for me to stay away lol

I never played a blood mage because none of the blood mage specific spells interested me enough and I like my health too much.
Edit: I would totally love to see an actual story point where a mage could turn to blood magic, though. Or a story point for any of the specialisations! Though blood mage is the obvious big one.

To remind anybody or whatever, what happened was that I stole from every single person I could find in Ostagar. Then I happened upon Duncan chewing out a random knight for telling him that his new recruit was a thief.
I picked it up again recently and when I spoke to Duncan before the Joining, he said he needed to talk to me about some of my recent activities. I thought he was going to scold me, but instead he just calmly told me that the Wardens still didn't have a lot of good will in Ferelden and we needed to avoid as many incidents as we can. I chose the dialogue option that said "But I still need to practice my skills." and Duncan answered "Certainly. Just don't get caught."
Yesterday I pickpocketed everyone in Lothering and got a tier 6 weapon. WTF? In Lothering?!
Then I did a quick run to Denerim to buy that one belt that gives you extra experience for collecting codex entries and there was a shady guy giving me extra stealing quests. I had never even heard about this before!! I was finally able to break into that big gold chest in the middle of the marketplace because of this guy. Amazing!!! Some of you guys probably already knew this, but my mind=blown.
DAII was lots of fun, but lacked this kind of nuance and all the extra secrets (probably not for lack of trying but just for lack of time). I really hope we get stuff like this in DA:I!!

Guys, I know this is sort of off-topic, but some of you may remember me saying a few weeks ago that I had started a new playthrough in Origins and discovered some new (for me anyway) content from using the stealing skill?

Seriously, stealing - and especially getting caught - opens up a whole new dimension in DAO. Duncan's warnings are fun, but did you know that you get random encounters between travel points if you get caught stealing in the Circle tower? Arl Eamon has a few choice words if you rob the knights of Redcliffe, too. Granted, most of the time I'm stealing in various places, I've cheated myself so many tomes, I never have failed attempts, but from what I've been able to gather, trying and failing is almost more fun than succeeding!

As far as rolling a blood mage.... didn't do it in DA2. I just wasn't really interested in the skill tree. I'd rather blow stuff up than suck the life out of an enemy. lol

Personally, I think it's abhorrent. I liked the DA2 elves. They were beautiful (at least in my eyes), but they weren't human-looking. They were a unique race with unique characteristics, and now, they're back to being point-eared humans. A part of me grieves for the failure of the gaming public to embrace a change a way from mainstream standards of beauty. Chainmail bikinis is next, mark my words.Parmida wrote...

On blood mage, yeah, I've never done it... since it didn't seem to fit with my character, but if there were good reasons for it or supermajor reactivity to it (like the stealing), I'd probably give it a go.
So excited for the new game!

Aw, ouch! I'm hopeful the new elves will still look different but cool. I think these particular mockups have such weird eyes I can't really comment (since they freak me out), but I'll reserve judgment til I see one in real gameplay (or at least in a cutscene or something).berelinde wrote...

You did a great job with the coloration!! Except for maybe the hair. Nobody has hair that red. Maybe try a medium-light brown?
Personally, I couldn't be more thrilled with the changes the team is making to the elves. After reading DG's descriptions of them in the novels I just couldn't handle the DAII design.

LOL! I also made his eyes bright purple, but changed it so it wouldn't look too outlandish for others.
I find that hair color sexy, don't know why...

I think it just might be an Orlesian thing. Most of the time we're going to be trekking across Orlais, so it's probably just a theme used frequently in their architecture.
