Hm, interesting:

"A character from Origins will drastically change their appearance, based on their experiences since DAO to DAI. This character is currently unannounced."
- From Ashe's blog thingy.

Well, it's not Leliana since we know she's in it, definitely not Morrigan, could be Alistair if he's in the game? Could even be Cullen, since he's probably been through the most change from DA:O and DA2... man, I hope he still has his recognisable attributes like the hair and stubble.

Could also be Sandal or Flemeth ...because it says character and not companion.

Yes I am still here and alive...just busy with the back to school and sick once more...

Hey guys! Ready for PAX? I was wondering if anyone had a link to watch the panels, or were videos going to be released later?

www.twitch.tv/pax

I think they're streaming some panels.

Thanks! ^-^

I'm liking the Jowan idea though, if it's not Cullen.

But I'm also guessing it might be Sten

So you guys are saying that if no one shared any info about pax you would be ok with that? I kind of doubt it. And yes they showed bits and pieces about the game through out the month but when it comes to new stuff everyone wants to see it. And im kind of doubtful about any video since it has been confirmed that Nerd appropriate is gonna record just the audio. I can understand if they dont wanna show stuff that its not ready for the public to see yet thats cool it means they want to work on it. But I mean when its not something so "secret" and exclude the rest of the ppl from showing I think thats a lil bit wrong, they are promoting their game for ppl to buy it after all, and ppl want to know / see what they are getting, and im not talking just about the ppl from BSN im talking about ppl everywhere just because they are not on BSN doesn't mean they are not fans

And you think the devs have just gone out there to do what? Get rat arsed and talk about sweet FA in all these panels they've taken the time and effort to do, not to mention the hundreds of interviews they have to give in between. Ridiculous.

Of course they're going to show us stuff! Just because we aren't seeing it at the same time as the fans at PAX and other gaming events, doesn't mean we're going to miss out. You just have to wait a few extra days, that's all. Yes, Nerd Appropriate are only doing audio for it, but you can bet your arse someone's gonna film the panel and put it up on YouTube. I can assure you, we will see everything they've shown at PAX one way or another.

Either way, getting a flaming monk on and stomping your feet won't get you what you want. There's a good reason why the devs don't want to interact with us when people are kicking off and behaving like BioWare owe them the world.

Just calm your ****** and be patient.

This.

Those of us who've been here a long time...and I mean years...know that Bioware is more then fair with us and know that eventually we too will see everything.

Will I be bummed if I don't get to see everything from PAX, not really. I didn't pay to go so I shouldn't be 'entitled' to see it.

However, it someone is more then generous to fill, take pics or whatever and post it. That's just bonus for me :D

Oh drat! I had missed that Dragon Con was at the same time as Pax. I'd love to see a recording of the Sex in video games follow up. :) Anyone know anything about that happening?

Anyway the big Pax main event is today. Main Event: The Next Dragon Age: An Introduction to the Inquisition When: Saturday, August 31st – Paramount Theatre @ 1:00PM PDT
I am TOTALLY expecting something cool. Would be awesome if it was available on the main stream. :)

Although, none of the DA:I panels are on that schedule. nerdappropriate is recording the audio and will post it later.

I'm just gonna wait until the release the recordings, it's hard enough keeping up with all the rest of the DAI news, lol.

Matt Rhodes clarifies the point from ladyinsanity's summary about "drastically changing" a character.

matt rhodes wrote...

It's a misleading summary.

What I said was that we enjoy the opportunity to embellish on characters from previous games. Often a character is made from generic pieces (most NPC's are built this way). But when you are able to elevate one of them you can update their appearance, tell more of their story through unique wardrobes or a more carefully crafted face. I just updated a character from Origins. Not a drastic redesign, just giving them a bit more love.

Almost sounds like he's talking about an NPC getting companion status. *rose tinted glasses*

I hear ya. I feel like I am emotionally unstable, switching between feeling elated or resigned after different snippets of info

It looks like my hopes for arcane warriors are shattered :( On the other hand mages will be able to wear heavy armor, so yay for that.

I liked the arcane warrior too, but it was annoying that she had to sheath her sword everytime she wanted to cast a spell (except for the ice spell I think) I always mind-canon that Alistair teaches her how to use the sword after she finds the trapped spirit, and then I start the romance right after that. I love the idea of a couple sparring and falling in love <3

Edit: Where are you reading/hearing this? Is there something going on w/ a panel right now?

I am lurking ladyinsanity and twitter thread but there are only bits and bobs of info.

As for AW, I think there were more spells and I actually did not mind switching. This way I very much enjoyed my mage's duel with Loghain since she actually fought with him instead of running and incapacicating him from a distance. Something that my Hawke can't say about her duel with Arishok

Edit: wiki page has details on spells that can be cast with weapon drawn, surprisingly, there are quite many of them (including all the specs). I was using lots of glyphs and totally abusing spirit school, so I probably did not feel the limitations as much as pure primal mage would have.

I read that mages weren't able to use swords and my heart sank a little. I do love an arcane warrior/battlemage. But hey ho there will be other exciting things on offer.

And if Wynne/Justice returned like Gandalf the White I would pre-order on that alone!

Just took a peek in the twitter thread to see them talking about "skimpy" and "Conan the barbarian" armor. The urge to post that pic of Cullen is overwhelming...you know which one I'm talking about. ;)

That could actually fit well under the "character that (not so drastically) changed appearance" ;)
