Funny, in DA:O and DA2 the haste spell didnt make your run faster than the speed of light.

Besides, Allan confirmed that she is indeed teleporting.

Sorry but i am not really a gigantic lore specialist so it is a bit misleading to just state thatbi confirmed this. Vivienne zipped ahead a short distance in combat and if there is a better in game lore explanation then that is more likely accurate.

I would prefer to not dwell too much into semantics on it. Vivienne, at this time, has an ability to jump a short distance in a very short period of time.

Alright, I saw that you guys were discussing companions and their classes earlier, so I have to jump in with my own thoughts.

I have Cole as a rogue because the leaked survey had the actual word "ROGUE" in Cole's bio. I think it's a good spread, giving you the ability to make Tanks and Off-Takes, Rogues and Archers, and Mages of any kind of mass-destruction.

I find it humourous my first post in the Cullen thread is primarily not about Cullen. But you guys have some of the best conversations on the whole site, it seems.

Even if he's not a companion/LI, I know I'll enjoy the game. BUT it would be infinitely more amazing if he was both

My thought Leliana being a companion, especially if she was your Grey Warden's LI in Origins:

They could flag her so that if you didn't romance her in Origins, she's free to be a romance in Inquisition. However, if you DID romance her, her flag would change, and she would be the friendship type like Aveline. Which could allow her to still be a companion without any LI conflicts of interest.

I honestly don't think they'll make Leliana a companion or LI.

DG said something about not making you "cheat" on your LI from a previous game, so even *if* she's a companion I doubt she'll be a love interest. That would mean that people who romanced her in Origins would lose out on a love interest in DA:I and only have three options (if they go with the usual two of each sex).

Welcome! And, yeah, that's pretty close to what my own list would be, for similar reasons (like, Cole's description which I just mentioned a few posts back). I still wonder about Cullen, Flaily hands, Trident Guy, Scribe Girl, Cole, as companions. But, I think there's no knowing which concept art pic corresponds to what name, let alone who's a party member and who's an "Important NPC" ala Morrigan at this point.

I do still understand not wanting "the masses" to see the footage though. I had to bite my tongue to keep from listing off my own criticisms. It's in my nature... but it's done out of love and anxiety concerning the game, which has meant so much to me. But I have to remind myself that it's not really the time to complain... especially on their own board.

AND... I don't think I talk about the stuff I like enough. Which one can assume is virtually everything I'm not complaining about lol

I'm nowhere near a hundred percent sure Cullen will be a companion, but hope lives eternal and all that.  I'd bet that Scribe Girl is a Traynor/Kelly character, used to manage all our Keeps. Flaily Hands has a bit of a Rogue look to him, so, if we say he's the rogue instead of Cole, that might work.

If there was one person from my list I'd bet they remove, it would be Cole. Him I see easily being a DLC character.

Also, if you look at Chill and the Trident Guy, I think they're wearing the same type of clothes (furry!). Perhaps they made Trident Guy into Chill. Wasn't there was suggestion they'd made non-human characters human to better appeal to the audience?

ALSO: This place is friggin' welcoming.

I can see them doing three females IF they make sure they create three well-rounded "real" women (which I know they will; they're super conscious about sexism and gaming), AND give us some excellent female major NPCs. So long as the romance options remain 2 female, 2 male.

I feel ya. I think we're all anxious and for some reason it's easier to complain than to stay pleasant sometimes (I tell my reflection - lol) I can't count how often I type up a really b!tchy comment and delete it. I guess that's my therapy. That and cheap merlot. lol

I'm attempting to remember the gender balance from DAO. Three women originally, right? Not counting Shale. And four dudes? Not counting Dog or Loghain. So, four to four.

Yeah. Huh. I... don't know. I doubt they'll add a second female warrior though. None of the leaked info really points to one. And not a mage, if they're keeping Dorian and their previous stance on no full-mage parties. So, girl rogues. Maybe Scribe Girl is a rogue?

OH yeah, I know! Sorry, I didn't mean to imply that you were. I was just talking generally!  Agree.

And, agree on the female companion balance. I wonder if it's worthwhile separating out the companions from the leaked survey vs. those we've seen in concept art. In the art, Matt Rhodes has already acknowledged that he tends to have his own biases ( I don't mean that in a bad way) in what he draws, suggesting that not every person in every piece is going to reflect the final characters decisions/gender breakdown/etc.

hm. Good point. We had Wynne, Morrigan, and Leliana. 

I guess it felt like more women characters to me because Morrigan and Wynne were almost always in my party. 

But I guess I'd still like one more, since DA2 was more even with Bethany, Isabela, Aveline, and Merrill.
